APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, May 8-14-2023, Return Visit Video Answers
Video of the return visit (5 min.): Discussion with the audience. Play the video Call Back: The Bible (Rev 21:3, 4). Pause the video at each pause and ask the questions that appear in it.
Imagine that the person asks if this text refers to when one dies and goes to heaven. What would she answer?
We can focus on the phrase that says that death will no longer be, that is, that people will stop dying. And we can ask him: If people will stop dying, it's because they did die before, right? Surely the householder will answer yes. Then we can tell him: But in heaven people don't die. People die on earth. So it stands to reason that Revelation 214 talks about what life on earth will be like.
I would review the reading of verse 3 with the person, to emphasize that the promise mentioned there is not for heavenly beings nor will it have a fulfillment in heaven. Rather, it is a specific hope for humanity, as it guarantees that there will be a new terrestrial human society. In addition, it shows that they will live on earth turned into a paradise enjoying eternal life with a body, mind and health in full perfection.
It can also be noted that verse 3 says that God will receive with them and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. He would explain that this means that Jehovah will be with men because he will rule them from a heavenly throne that is in heaven through his son Jesus Christ, but in no way does it imply that men will be with God in heaven.
What text would you show the person on the next visit?
We could use the text of Isaiah 48:17, in this text we are reminded that Jehovah can teach us and for this what we can do is study the Bible and ask God in prayer to help us understand it.
As the question that remains pending for the next visit is: What will help us understand the Bible? I would show the person the text of 1 Timothy 2:3,4. Because there it says: It is good and pleasing in the eyes of our savior, God, since his will is that all kinds of people be saved and come to have an exact knowledge of the truth. With this text I would explain that Jehovah wants us to know the truth about him and that is why he has given us a book that can be understood.
What would you say to offer the Enjoy Life brochure?
What we could say is that many people find it difficult to study the Bible, because they try to understand it on their own and the Bible contains a number of topics, then we can show them a brochure and say that this brochure is like a tool that can help us to select the topics to be able to understand the Bible.
I would tell you that in addition to giving us the Bible, Jehovah has provided us with help to understand it. That is why today, Jehovah's Witnesses offer people free Bible courses in the comfort of their home, without any commitment and according to their time availability. For this, we use the brochure "Enjoy life forever" With which we can get the most out of the Bible. Then, he would proceed to offer the brochure and detail its characteristics.
