LIVING AS CHRISTIANS: 8-14-May-2023, Video: Are you prepared for an emergency?, Analysis and Responses.

“Are you prepared to face an economic crisis?” (15 min.): Analysis with the audience and video. In charge of an old man. If there are any suggestions from the branch or body of elders, please mention them.

AFTER WATCHING THE VIDEO ARE YOU PREPARED FOR AN EMERGENCY? ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

How can you be prepared for an emergency?

The first thing we have to do is strengthen ourselves spiritually, and thus have a friendship with Jehovah from now on. This does not mean that we are going to wait for him to intervene miraculously, but we can pray to him through his holy spirit, since Jehovah can make us remember passages from the Bible that help us to calm down, endure a difficult situation and also help us to act wisely .

We must also have an emergency backpack prepared, in it we must keep a first aid kit, bottled water, non-perishable food, a Bible, and other basic items, we must also have a sufficient amount of basic supplies at home, in case it is necessary that we take refuge at home for a long time, we must also see that the elders of the congregation have our updated contact information.

In addition, in our night of family worship, it is important that we review the types of disasters that can occur where we live, since there are events that can occur unexpectedly.

How can you be prepared to help others?

We know that organizing relief efforts can take time, especially if supplies are scarce, so it is very important that we are prepared, because this will allow more attention to those who need it most and it is possible that we can even help other brothers, perhaps providing them with a place to stay or share supplies, also when it is already safe we can help our brothers to make repairs in their home.

We can be prepared by volunteering for relief efforts if an emergency occurs elsewhere. And from now on we can fill out an application, we can also pray for all our affected brothers, and make donations for the world work.

ANALYSIS OF OTHER ADDITIONAL POINTS OF THE VIDEO.

Jehovah foretold that critical times hard to bear would come in the last days, with famines, epidemics, earthquakes in one place after another, and other dire scenes.

There are also fires, eruptions, volcanics, destructive storms, and other man-made disasters, plus more and more crime, riots, and war.

No matter where we live, it is likely that at some point, we will be affected by a natural or man-made disaster. How can we prepare? The first thing is to strengthen ourselves spiritually Isaiah 30:15 says that your strength will depend on you remaining calm and showing confidence.

So it is important that we have a good friendship with Jehovah, and learn to trust him from now on. We do not expect him to intervene miraculously, but if we pray to him in difficult moments, his holy spirit can make us remember passages from the Bible that help us calm down and give us wisdom to make good decisions.

Secondly, we should have an emergency backpack ready. It would be nice to keep a first aid kit, bottled water, non-perishable food, a Bible and other basic items in it. If possible, each home should have a reasonable amount of basic supplies, in case the family needs to shelter at home for a long time.

Find out what the authorities recommend where you live. Also make sure that the elderly have their current contact details, if they do not have them up to date in an emergency, valuable time could be lost.

On the other hand, during family worship night, review the types of disasters that can occur, remember that events such as terrorist attacks and riots can occur anywhere and without warning. So talk about what to do in each situation like where to meet or how to contact the elderly.

Third, we can prepare to help others when an emergency occurs. To find out how, let's first see what steps are taken locally in these cases. In cases where there is an emergency notice, the Group overseers make sure that all the brothers in their group are in a safe place and right after an emergency situation passes, each group overseer contacts with all the siblings in your group to see what they need.

Organizing relief efforts can take time, especially if emergency supplies are in short supply. So it is vital that you take the steps to be prepared, pay attention to government notices and keep the elders informed of your circumstances. Philippians 2:4 says that we must seek the interests of others, if we are well prepared we allow them to receive more attention to those who need it most. And we may even be able to help others in and around our congregation even if we have been affected.

For example, in some cases, maybe there are siblings who need a place to stay for a while, maybe we can open the doors of our home for them, or maybe we can share our food or basic supplies with those who need it. in other cases we may be able to help siblings clean their home or make repairs when it is safe to do so.

And what can you do if the emergency happens in another place you should travel there to help when help is needed the branch will appoint brothers to organize and participate in relief work. So the best time to make yourself available is now before an emergency strikes. Tell your elders that you would like to apply. So when there is a need, the branch will know that you are willing to help.

And remember prayer has a lot of power, when we pray for our brothers we offer ourselves as volunteers to help in the Relief work or we make donations to the world work we are helping our brothers, of course we will not always be able to avoid natural disasters and emergency situations caused by man But if we follow the instructions of Jehovah's Organization and his word our obedience will bring honor to Jehovah, if he is strengthened in a spiritual sense, he takes practical measures and is ready to help others, he can have the peace of mind of knowing that Jehovah will bless your efforts to be prepared for an emergency.
