TREASURES OF THE BIBLE, April 10-16, 2023, “A Queen Who Valued Wisdom”, Prepared Speech.

“A queen who valued wisdom” (10 min.)

How do you spend your time and energy? Are you concerned about making a good name? Are you hoarding money and possessions? Are you trying to build a career? Do you value good friendships? Is health the right thing? most important to you? All that has been said may have some value. But is there anything in which it is of greater importance? The Bible answers: Wisdom is the most important thing, so get wisdom says Proverbs 4:7.

Now, we know that wisdom is complemented by discernment and understanding. Therefore, the servants of God must value and treasure what Jehovah has taught us. The second book of Chronicles chapter 9 tells us about the queen of Sheba, who left an outstanding example of valuing wisdom, we are going to read about this and we are going to start with the second book of Chronicles chapter 9 verse 1 and 2, notice what it says:

WE ARE GOING TO READ 2 CHRONICLES 9:1,2.

The Queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's fame, so she came to Jerusalem to test Solomon with difficult questions. She was accompanied by a very impressive entourage, with camels that brought balsamic oil, a lot of gold and precious stones. She appeared before Solomon and told him everything that was on her mind. 2 Solomon answered all her questions. There was nothing too difficult for Solomon. He was able to explain everything.

The first book of Kings 10:1 says that the queen had news of Solomon's fame regarding the name of Jehovah, which shows us that this was not a business trip brothers. It is evident that his main objective was to listen to the wisdom of Solomon, and perhaps even learn something about his God Jehovah, and when he saw all his wisdom until he was breathless says the Bible notice how he explains it again Chapter 9 now verses 3 and 4, if you found it, accompany me with the reading please, it says like this:

WE ARE GOING TO READ 2 CHRONICLES 9:3,4.

When the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, the house he had built, the food on his table, the way his servants were sitting, the service of the waiters and their attire, the cupbearers and their attire, when she saw the sacrifices burnt meats that he regularly offered in the house of Jehovah, she gasped.

How did the queen react when she verified that everything came from God? It says at the end of verse 4 that the queen was stunned, breathless, seeing so much wisdom that came from Jehovah, and then she did not hesitate for a moment to praise him, Now let's read verses 7 and 8 of the same Chapter 9 of the second Chronicles, if you already have it, it says:

WE ARE GOING TO READ 2 CHRONICLES 9:7,8.

Happy your men and happy your servants, who are always with you listening to your wisdom! 8 Praise be to the Lord your God, who welcomed you and seated you on his throne as king for the Lord your God. Since your God loves Israel and wants it to remain forever, he has appointed you king to rule justly and uprightly.”

What a great example of valuing Divine wisdom! And it impressed her so much that she was willing to make many sacrifices for it. Now brothers we are willing to seek wisdom as if it were a hidden treasure, the result if we do it this way. So it would be what Proverbs Chapter 2 says verses 1 to 5, notice what it says:

LET'S READ PROVERBS 2:1-5.

My son, if you will accept my words and treasure my commandments 2 by making your ears attentive to wisdom and your heart inclined to discernment, 3 if you also cry out for understanding and raise your voice for discernment, 4 if you continue to seek this as if it were silver and you always go in search of it as if it were hidden treasures, 5 then you will understand the fear of Jehovah and you will find the knowledge of God.

Well worth the effort then for divine wisdom. Isn't that true? On the other hand, Jesus used the example of the Queen of Sheba to teach the scribes and Pharisees a lesson. I tell you that the Queen of Sheba showed great appreciation for the wisdom that came from God, and if she. Reason Jesus traveled 2400 kilometers to listen to Solomon, how much more reason should they have listened carefully to Jesus?, who was there, right in front of them.

We too can show today brothers that we deeply appreciate Jesus Christ, how? One way to do this is by obeying his command to make disciples of people of all nations, another way is by closely examining his example, and his mental attitude and then imitating him. Undoubtedly, brothers, following the Model of Jesus will require effort on our part, but we will be well rewarded.

In fact, Jehovah promises his servants in the book of Malachi 3:10 that if we have a spirit of sacrifice and value wisdom, then, says Jehovah, you will see that I open the floodgates of heaven for you and pour out blessings on you until you lack nothing.
