Ps 105:17-19. How did “the declaration of Jehovah” purify Joseph? (w86 11/1 19 par. 15)

Jehovah's declaration purified Joseph by allowing him to develop qualities such as patience, humility, and spiritual strength. Despite the difficult circumstances he faced during 13 years as a slave and prisoner, Joseph maintained his faith in Jehovah's promise.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Jehovah’s declaration purified Joseph through trial and suffering, refining his character and strengthening his faith. In Psalm 105:17-19, it is described how Joseph was afflicted and tested, but Jehovah’s own saying refined him. This suggests that God’s word, promise, and purpose for Joseph were what sustained and transformed him during that time. Joseph’s experience as a slave and prisoner for 13 years was a refining process, similar to the process of purifying gold in fire. In short, Jehovah’s declaration purified Joseph through trial and suffering, refining his character and strengthening his faith, preparing him to be used in wonderful ways by God.

These tests not only strengthened his character, but also showed that he was ready to take on greater responsibilities. In the end, Jehovah used him in a significant way, fulfilling his purpose by making him governor of Egypt and Savior of his people. This experience transformed him into someone more valuable and pure, similar to refined gold.

Joseph was purified by Jehovah's declaration that his difficult experiences such as slavery and prison helped him develop qualities such as patience, humility, and strength. Although Jehovah did not cause his problems, He used them to prepare him, like when fire purifies gold, for greater responsibility. Thus, by remaining faithful, Joseph became more valuable and useful to Jehovah.

Joseph's trials teach us that even though problems may sometimes seem unfair or endless, they can be an opportunity to grow and become stronger, just as Joseph learned patience and trust in Jehovah. We too can see our difficulties as opportunities to develop qualities that bring us closer to Jehovah and make us better people.

Joseph showed that true faith involves trusting in Jehovah even when we do not understand why certain things happen instead of becoming bitter Joseph remained positive and continued doing what was right this is not Remember that when we face problems we must focus on our relationship with Jehovah trusting that he always knows what is best for us and will help us in due time.

The statement that Jehovah purified him concerning Joseph refers to the trials and hardships that Joseph had to face while waiting for Jehovah's promise to be fulfilled. During the years when Joseph was sold into slavery and imprisoned, his faith and loyalty to Jehovah were tested despite these difficult circumstances. Joseph maintained his integrity and trust in Jehovah, which prepared and refined him to fulfill God's purpose for him.

So the cleansing mentioned in the  psalm is understood as a kind of spiritual refinement. The difficulties not only tested his faith but also strengthened it, making him more fit to play his part in Jehovah's purpose. When the time finally came to fulfill the promise of deliverance and exaltation, Joseph was ready both spiritually and emotionally.

Joseph’s experience also teaches us the importance of patience and trust in Jehovah, even in difficult times. Sometimes, Jehovah allows us to face trials to help us grow spiritually and strengthen our faith. Joseph might have felt frustrated or hopeless as he waited for the promise to be fulfilled, but instead of giving up, he remained faithful. This reminds us that, like Joseph, we can trust that Jehovah will fulfill his promises at the right time and that the trials we face can serve to make us stronger and prepare us for future responsibilities in his service.

It was for 13 years that Joseph suffered as a slave and prisoner until Jehovah's promise was fulfilled. Through this experience he was refined. Although Jehovah did not produce the problems, he did allow them for a purpose. Joseph emerged from this experience like gold that comes out of the refiner's fire, purer and even more precious in the eyes of God, who later used him in a wonderful way.
