TREASURES FROM THE BIBLE, December 20-26, 2021, “Jephthah was a spiritual man,” Prepared Speech.

“Jephthah Was a Spiritual Man” (10 min.)

Is Jesus a person who is spiritually inclined or a person who is physically inclined? This is a question that all who claim to be God's servants should ask themselves. Why? Because the words of the apostle Paul found in 1 Corinthians 12: 14-15, this chapter shows that the physical man does not receive the things of the spirit of God because for him they are foolishness.

However, the spiritual man actually examines all things, although the spiritual man mentioned in Corinthians refers especially to those who follow in the footsteps of Christ or who have heavenly hope, it can be said that in a sense all those who truly serve God are spiritual people, it can be said that faithful men of old like Abel, Nóe, Abraham and a long list of prophets and faithful men, who have been spiritual people.

Although we had earthly hope, we can say that we are also spiritual people. How can we be, because we are going to analyze the example of a spiritual person and for this the example of Jefte will serve us, what made Jefte a spiritual person, one of the things is that he put aside the problems he had with others, in this case he was more interested in the sanctification of Jehovah's name.

LET'S READ: Judges 11: 5-9.

And, seeing that the Ammonites were fighting Israel, the elders of Gilead immediately went to the land of Tob to bring Jephthah back. 6 They said to Jephthah, "Come, we want you to be our commander so that we can fight the Ammonites." 7 But Jephthah answered the elders of Gilead, “Weren't you the ones who hated me so much that you kicked me out of my father's house? Why are you looking for me now, when you are in trouble? 8 Then the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, “This is precisely why we are now coming to find you. If you come with us and fight the Ammonites, you will be the leader of all the inhabitants of Gilead. " 9 And Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If they take me back to fight the Ammonites and Jehovah brings them down in defeat before me, then I will be their leader."

This then what teaches us is that Jefte did not seek his own personal glory, for example to think about how other people in the past like José, who although his brothers hated him, was a spiritual person and never harbor a grudge, followed his example, his goal was defending God's name was what mattered most to him. Then we also demonstrate that we are spiritual people, when we are preaching in the congregation inside our home, we put aside differences, we forgive mistakes, because our goal is to serve Jehovah with our brothers and our family.

Another thing that makes Jefte a spiritual person is that in this case he knew about Jehovah and substrates, for example when he was going to fight against the Ammonites he first inquired.

LET'S READ: Judges 11: 12-13.

Then Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites to say to him: "What do you have against me that you come to attack my land?" 13 The king of the Ammonites replied to Jephthah's messengers: “When Israel came up from Egypt, they occupied my land, from the Arnonh to the Jabbok and to the Jordan. Now give it back to me peacefully. "

Was that true, no, Jephthah knew what Jehovah had said. so on this occasion Jephthah showed that he was not an uneducated or uncouth warrior, but that he knew the story and argued the following for example Israel did not bother or Ammon, Moab, Edom. Another thing is that Ammon did not possess the land in dispute when the conquest of the promised land took place and third Ammon had not questioned the Israelites occupation during the past 300 years so this shows us that to be a spiritual person we must know the deals of Jehovah or as he is. and how are their qualities, also their way of acting.

LET'S READ: Judges 11:23.

“'It was Jehovah, the God of Israel, who drove out the Amorites before his people. And now you want to drive out the Israelites?

So in this case with this text it was showing that it was Jehovah who had given the land and therefore they were going to defend this land, since in this case the Ammonites were referring to what Kemos had given them, also this land then Jephthah came to the The bottom line, what it was, to demonstrate that Jehovah was the true God and that he had given them that land, that shows us that in order to be a spiritual person, we must defend Jehovah's sovereignty, because this is the most important thing for each one of U.S.

What then the Illustration that we observe below teaches us, we see the three points that made Jefte a spiritual person and that we must also show that we are spiritual people, for example in the first box we show that we are spiritual people if we leave a side the problems and in this case then try to fix it either for example within our home as we see in the illustration or it can also be within the congregation.

In the center of the image we can see what Jefte did, he knew what Jehovah had done for the people of Israel. So if we want to be spiritual people, we must know the ways of Jehovah and this case we do it by having a study of the Bible with meditation that can help us put into practice what we have learned.
