Watchtower Study, Let Us Trust in the Sovereign of the Universe, May 11-17, 2026, Comments and Answers.
“Jehovah, [...] you alone are the Most High over all the earth” (Ps. 83:18).
1. What are some of the misfortunes that Job suffered?
Some of the misfortunes Job suffered were the loss of his children, his health, and his possessions. Furthermore, his three supposed friends, who came to comfort him, actually crushed him with their words. Even his beloved wife told him, “Curse God and die!” Also, some people no longer respected him as they once had.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Job suffered many misfortunes: he lost his children, his health, his possessions, and even the respect he once enjoyed. Furthermore, his three supposed friends, who came to comfort him, only hurt him more with their words.
As recorded at Job 2:9, Job’s wife told him: “Are you still clinging to your integrity? Curse God and die!” She was undoubtedly deeply distressed by all that had happened, for she too had suffered the same losses as Job. Moreover, she had to see her husband in a pitiful state. However, her words reveal that she also lost sight of what was most important: the precious relationship they both had with Jehovah.
Despite all that Job went through, he never ceased to be faithful to Jehovah, because he had already established a friendship with Him before those trials occurred. Job knew very well that he should remain faithful and that Jehovah would support him.
In addition to all the misfortunes that befell him, Job was practically alone, because those so-called friends crushed him with their words. In fact, at Job 19:2, 3, he said: “How long will you continue to provoke my soul, to crush me with words? You have already rebuked me ten times; you are not ashamed to treat me harshly.” We see that he didn’t even have anyone to lean on or from whom to receive comfort. That is why Job is such a powerful example of faith for all of us.

2, 3. a) What might we ask ourselves when we suffer?
When we suffer, we may wonder if Jehovah still cares about us, or we may feel overwhelmed and think that we will not be able to endure, especially if one problem after another comes our way.
We must remember that we are living in “critical and difficult times to endure,” and that, like Job, we may go through situations that test our trust in Jehovah.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
As we know, we are now living in what 2 Timothy 3:1 describes as “critical times hard to endure.” Therefore, we may go through difficult situations that lead us to question whether we are still important to Jehovah.
As the paragraph mentions, we may even have doubts about ourselves and whether we will be able to loyally endure all those trials.
Even more so, if one problem after another comes our way, it can become even harder to cope. We might even wonder if we'll be able to endure it.
2, 3. b) What will we learn from the book of Job?
From the book of Job we learn that Jehovah never abandons those who are loyal to him. Jehovah is the Sovereign of the universe and can control world events so that his purpose is fulfilled and so that his servants do not suffer any irreparable spiritual or physical harm. This shows us that we can be completely confident that our heavenly Father will always be by our side.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
An article said that reading the book of Job is like climbing to the top of a mountain and, upon reaching the summit, being able to see the entire panorama around us more clearly. Similarly, by analyzing this beautiful article, we can be convinced that Jehovah will always be by our side.
The book of Job is well-known because it recounts the sufferings Job endured and provides us with an example for our time. As mentioned, Jehovah is the Sovereign of the universe and our almighty God. Therefore, we must be prepared to face any challenge presented by Satan's system.
SATAN APPEARED AMONG THEM
4. Who were present at the heavenly meeting mentioned in the book of Job?
At the heavenly gathering mentioned in the book of Job, “the sons of the true God” were present, and the account also indicates that “Satan was also among them.” By that time, Satan was no longer a faithful son of God, but an opponent of Jehovah, the faithful angels, and faithful humans.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
As mentioned in Job 1:6, “the sons of the true God” were present, and Satan was also among them.
One day, the children of the true God gathered before Jehovah, and Satan also appeared among them.
Satan was no longer one of the sons of the true God. Jehovah allowed him to be present at that meeting, but from the very moment he rebelled against Jehovah and caused humans to sin, he was no longer part of Jehovah's family, as clearly described at Genesis 3:15.
By allowing Satan to be there in his presence, Jehovah was able to expose before all spirit creatures that challenge and that issue that Satan raised, and that affected all of Jehovah's creation.
5. What does what was said at that meeting in heaven teach us?
What was said at that meeting in heaven teaches us that Satan's words prove he is a liar, cruel, and twisted. It also teaches us that Jehovah uses his supreme authority perfectly and justly. Furthermore, it shows us that the Almighty sets limits on what others can do.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
This account teaches us, on the one hand, that Satan's words prove he is a liar, cruel and twisted. And, on the other hand, it also teaches us a great truth: that Jehovah uses his supreme authority perfectly and justly.
In Job 1:9, we see how Satan accuses Job of serving God out of self-interest. And in Revelation 12:10, it says, “For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.” In these texts, we can see how Satan, through cunning lies, constantly accuses us, questioning what we do, why we do it, and why we serve God.
In the story of Job we also learn that Jehovah always sets limits on what other people can do against us.
JEHOVAH SETS LIMITS
6. How did Jehovah demonstrate that he had everything under control at that heavenly meeting? (Job 1:7, 8)
Jehovah demonstrated that he had everything under control at that heavenly meeting because he knew exactly what Satan was planning and that Satan had his eye on Job and wanted to attack him. That is why he asked him: “Have you noticed my servant Job?” Furthermore, he allowed the conversation and set clear limits on what Satan could do.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Jehovah knew perfectly well that Satan had his eye on Job and wanted to attack him. That is why he asked him: “Have you noticed my servant Job?”
This account encourages us, because we know that Jehovah sees our efforts and that, even though we go through trials, he is always watching over each one of us.
In this paragraph, we see how Jehovah knows all of his creation perfectly. He had surely seen attitudes in Satan that displeased him, and he also knew that Satan had his eye on Job. Nevertheless, he allowed Job to present his arguments. Now we will see, step by step, how Jehovah used his wisdom and power to help Job.
We see the total control that Jehovah had, because he allowed Satan to be in his presence and even to speak. But, of course, Satan, being the coward he is, didn't bring it up himself. It was Jehovah who brought it up, because he knew perfectly well what was in Satan's heart. It's as if Jehovah were saying to him, "Go ahead, Satan, say what you want to say." And that's where we see how Satan ends up revealing everything he was holding inside.
7. According to Job 1:10, 11, what did Satan imply about human beings?
Satan implied that humans, like Job, worshipped God because Jehovah was somehow bribing them with good things to serve him. He also suggested that people only worship God out of self-interest, for what they can gain from him.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
On the one hand, when he said, “Have you not put a hedge around him?” he was implying that Jehovah somehow bribed humans to serve him by giving them good things. On the other hand, when he said, “Take everything from him and he will surely curse you to your face,” he was suggesting that people worshipped Jehovah only out of self-interest.
As we see in Daniel 4:35, this was a way of questioning Jehovah's sovereignty, because the text shows that no one can prevent him from doing anything and that he, as the Almighty, knows perfectly well how to use all his authority and power. So, who was Satan to tell Jehovah how to act?
Jeremiah 32:17 says of Jehovah: “You made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your mighty arm. Nothing is too extraordinary for you.” Without a doubt, Satan was fully aware of Jehovah’s power.
Satan did not question Jehovah's power, but rather the trust that humans and all the heavenly creatures listening at that time placed in him. He was not saying that Jehovah had no power, but that he was using it improperly.
If we delve deeper into the account, we see the infinite cruelty of Satan, because Job actually received blessings for obeying Jehovah, and those who obey Jehovah always prosper. But Satan twisted that and said, “He obeys you because he receives blessings,” just the opposite. Furthermore, Satan also wanted to make Jehovah think, “Your work is not working. The creation of humankind is not well done. You did it wrong.”
Motivation is always very important, because it determines why we do things. And Satan questioned both Jehovah's motivation for blessing humans and Job's motivation for serving him, implying that he did so out of self-interest.
8, 9. What limit did Jehovah set for Satan, and why? (Job 1:12; see also the picture.)
Jehovah set a boundary for Satan not to touch Job, as indicated at Job 1:12. He allowed him to try to prove that he was right about Job, but with one very clear condition: “Do not touch him.” In this way, Jehovah made his authority clear, since Satan had no power to override the boundary that Jehovah had set.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The limit was not to touch Job. Satan could do other things to him, but he could not harm him directly. He had to obey the command that Jehovah had given him. Jehovah did this to use his authority and power to protect both Job and his own reputation.
The illustration shows Satan's attitude with that accusing finger, challenging, in this case, the way Jehovah did things. And, as already mentioned, Jehovah was setting certain limits for him to prove what he was claiming.
It is striking that Satan had no choice but to obey Jehovah. Despite all his power and all he does to turn humans away from Jehovah, he is still accountable and cannot do whatever he pleases. Without a doubt, we can fully trust Jehovah, for he is the Sovereign and the most powerful being.
What Satan wanted was for Jehovah himself to harm Job, because that is what he asked for at Job 1:11: “Stretch out your hand and strike everything he has.” Jehovah allowed Satan to touch Job’s possessions, but he set the limit of not touching Job. So we see that Satan cannot go beyond what Jehovah permits.
Despite all the attacks Satan made on Job, he did not sin or accuse God of doing anything wrong.
As an interesting detail, in the illustration we can see myriads and myriads of angels in the background, and that tells us a lot.
The paragraph states that this authority and power were evident in Job's protection, as he was untouchable. But it also served to demonstrate Jehovah's completely spotless reputation, because everything happened in front of the beings who were accusing him. Furthermore, it was recorded so that we could understand all that it entailed.
ILLUSTRATION
Satan in heaven, speaking disrespectfully to Jehovah in front of the angels.
Jehovah allowed Satan to make his accusations in the presence of others. (See paragraphs 8 and 9.)
10. Why did Jehovah allow Satan to attack Job again? (Job 2:2-6)
Jehovah allowed Satan to attack Job again to prove him wrong in claiming that Job would turn his back on God to save his life. Although Jehovah allowed him to attack Job directly, he again set a limit: “Do not take his life.”
Satan could not go beyond the limits that Jehovah had set and was obligated to respect that command. In this way, Jehovah again demonstrated that he had everything under control during Job's trial.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Because it was necessary to prove Satan wrong. Jehovah had no other choice in the name of justice. Millions of angels were watching, and if he hadn't allowed it, the rebellion in heaven might have been much greater.
We see how Satan was intensifying his attacks, and on this occasion, he said that Job would turn his back on God in order to save his life. In this case, Jehovah set the limit of not taking Job's life, but He also trusted in Job's integrity. Job was an upright man who did not practice evil and always did what Jehovah told him.
Following Satan's path, although Jehovah had set a limit for him not to take Job's life, he had allowed him to act upon him. Satan surely chose the most humiliating and painful illness before death, because it was the only thing he could do. But Jehovah was so confident in his servant's faithfulness that he allowed it to prove Satan wrong.
This reminds us of the Bible, which says that Jehovah will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. So we clearly see that Jehovah is in control, as he did in the case of Job, setting a boundary that Satan could not cross. We can be certain that the same is true for us: Jehovah knows our boundary and will not allow Satan to cross it.
JEHOVAH ENDS JOB'S SUFFERING
11. According to Job 42:10-13, how did Jehovah reward Job after ending his suffering?
According to Job 42:10-13, Jehovah rewarded Job by completely stopping Satan’s attacks, so that he could no longer harm him, thus ending his suffering. After that, he restored Job’s lost prosperity and gave him twice as much as he had before, favoring him with a much more prosperous life than before.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
As we have seen in the account, Jehovah gave him twice as much as he had. He even had more children, which was one of the hardest blows he ever suffered. And we see that this time, when Jehovah made the decision, Satan could no longer even attack Job. So, we see Jehovah's protection when we are loyal.
We also see how his friends changed upon witnessing his situation. In fact, it is said that they took pity on him, comforted him through all his misfortunes, and even gave him gifts. It is mentioned that they gave him money and also a gold ring.
We can see that this was not a material reward, but a way of showing him that Jehovah had always been by his side and that his loyalty had not gone unnoticed. And it is beautiful to see that Jehovah not only repairs, but also rebuilds.
The account in Job tells us that he initially had 10 sons, whom he lost along with all his possessions. But, as a reward, we read in Job 42 that he was to receive double. However, at that time he only had another 10 sons, so he was not yet fully doubled. When will that promise be fulfilled? When those other 10 sons who were not resurrected at that time are resurrected; then he will have the full 20. By this we mean that there is no harm that Satan can cause that Jehovah cannot repair, even unto death.
12. How has Jehovah helped some of his servants who trusted in his power?
Jehovah has helped some of his servants who trusted in his power, as in the case of Daniel, as shown in Daniel 6:22, by sending his angel and shutting the mouths of the lions when he was thrown into the den.
Furthermore, in 1945, a group of 230 Jehovah's Witnesses in a Nazi concentration camp survived a horrific death march. They felt that Jehovah had saved them, just as he had saved Daniel from the lions' den.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The paragraph mentions how a group of our brothers, in 1945—specifically 230 of them—survived a terrible death march in a Nazi concentration camp. They felt that Jehovah had saved them and compared their experience to that of Daniel, who was thrown into the lions' den and survived. Nothing happened to them either. So it was all thanks to Jehovah's undeserved kindness.
Every trial has its reward, but it is remarkable that the brothers who went through this ordeal, knowing they were going to die, maintained only one desire: to serve Jehovah. The same was true for Job. Job suffered greatly, but his motivation was always to continue serving Jehovah. Christians should always have the attitude of serving Jehovah in every situation and under every circumstance.
The experience of the 230 brothers shows us the extent to which we should trust in Jehovah. These brothers, in recounting their experience after going through one of the most difficult situations a human being can endure, say that they didn't even smell the fire, implying that it didn't affect them emotionally.
How Jehovah has helped some of his servants shows how Jehovah cares for his people and his servants, not only physically when he considers it most appropriate, but also by protecting us mentally so that we can be strong and continue serving him.
In the photos we have in these paragraphs we see that there are different trials that our brothers go through, but Jehovah is always very aware of what our difficulties are and, in due time, he gives us the way out.
13. When you are going through problems, what can you be sure of? (See also the images.)
When we are going through trouble, we can be confident that Jehovah has the power to end our suffering, either now or in the new world. He will not allow this system to last even a second longer than the time he has set for its end.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We must remember that the issue remains. It is the same “story,” the same scenario, and the same main characters: Jehovah, Satan, and humanity in general. In this case, instead of Job, it is each one of us—someone who has lost a loved one or who could potentially lose one, such as someone who is ill, or our brothers and sisters who are suffering persecution, as well as the many brothers and sisters imprisoned in Ukraine, Russia, and other countries. And the situation remains the same.
Satan, as the apostle Peter describes him, continues like a roaring lion trying to devour someone. That is, he continues trying to get Jehovah's servants to stop serving and loving him, because he still thinks we do it out of self-interest. For our part, we must be loyal and trust, as the paragraph says, convinced that Jehovah will end our suffering very soon and that nothing can stop him.
1 Peter 5:10 says that Jehovah will finish your training. This reminds us of athletes, because in the end they have to endure very hard training that requires a lot of sacrifice, but they know where it will lead them: to achieving their goals. Something similar happens to us. What we experience requires great effort; it is like training for us. But we know that, as the text says, it “will end.” Moreover, for Jehovah that day is already set, which gives us great peace of mind.
When we consider Job's case, he didn't know why he was receiving all those attacks, whereas we do have a written record of the conversation that took place in heaven and the question Satan posed before everyone. Therefore, we have a much greater advantage than he did, and this should make us even more convinced that, just as Job was able to be faithful because Jehovah helped him, we too can be faithful. So we can view difficulties as opportunities to prove that Satan is a liar.
ILLUSTRATION
Images of Jehovah's servants experiencing various painful situations: 1. An older brother and a younger brother are in a cemetery, standing by a grave. The younger brother is comforting the older one. 2. In a hospital, distraught parents are sitting by their little girl's bed. 3. A brother who is imprisoned digs with a shovel under a scorching sun while being watched by an armed soldier.
Jehovah will put an end to the suffering of his loyal servants. (See paragraph 13.)
JEHOVAH LOVES HIS LOYAL SERVANTS
14, 15. What will Jehovah do for his loyal servants, and why? (Job 14:15; see also the picture.)
In the future, Jehovah will bring back to life by resurrection his faithful servants who have lost their lives, changing the pain of death into the joy of living again, because he has a special affection for them.
Furthermore, just as Jehovah blessed Job by restoring his health and giving him more than he had before, Jehovah will also reward his faithful servants in the future. He will give them the opportunity to attain perfection and live forever in the new world, where there will be no more suffering, pain, or death.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
He will give us the opportunity to live forever in the new world. Even those who have died will be resurrected, and we will be able to live with them in paradise. And Jehovah does this because he loves us.
The text of Job 14:15 says, “You will call, and I will answer you; you will long to see the work of your hands.” In other words, for him it is not simply a promise he has to fulfill, but something he desires to do; he desires to resurrect his faithful servants. This shows us how much he loves us and how much he longs for this promise to be fulfilled, just as we do.
Jehovah gave Job twice the blessings he had previously received, including his children, but he only gave him 10. Why? Because Jehovah expected the others to be resurrected in paradise. So he received only a portion of that blessing, and that future resurrection of Job's children also strengthens our faith.
Now is not the time to slack off, but rather to continue strengthening our faith as much as we can through study, preaching, meditation, and prayer to Jehovah, because, as we are seeing in the Watchtower, times are going to become increasingly difficult; in fact, they already are, but they are going to get even worse. However, we have the faith and strength that Jehovah will be watching over us, because his love for us is so great that he will not let go of our hand. But we must be faithful to him.
We see that Jehovah restored to Job everything he had lost, including his dignity, because before his trial he was a respected man, someone people came to for advice. But then he said that all his family and friends had abandoned him. We read that afterward, everyone returned to congratulate him for having passed the test. With that, he regained his dignity, which was something he valued greatly.
ILLUSTRATION
Job, in good health and well dressed, enjoying the company of many friends who had come to his house to visit him and his wife.
After their trials, Job and his wife received many blessings from Jehovah. (See paragraphs 14 and 15.)
16. What other reason do we have to trust in the Sovereign Lord?
Another reason to trust in the Sovereign Lord is that He has power even over death. Since Jehovah is the Almighty, no one can prevent Him from resurrecting those He loves at the time He has appointed. This gives us the assurance that He will keep His promises and never forget His faithful servants.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Another reason is that Jehovah has promised this resurrection and, moreover, has already demonstrated it; this again proves Jehovah's infinite power. The previous paragraph stated that he desires to resurrect the dead, but here it adds that he also has the power to do so. Therefore, nothing can make us doubt Jehovah's desire.
LET US TRUST COMPLETELY IN JEHOVAH
17. Why do we say that Satan has not succeeded in wiping Jehovah's people off the map?
We say that Satan has not succeeded in destroying Jehovah’s people because, time and again, we have seen all the weapons that have been made against them fail. Although powerful governments and religious leaders have tried to crush God’s people, they have not succeeded, because Jehovah has always protected them.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
He has not been able to achieve this, because today we see that there are 9 million faithful servants of Jehovah, which is clear proof of the power of the Sovereign of the universe. And we have seen that, no matter how many governments, problems, and obstacles we have faced, they have never been able to make us lose faith in the power that Jehovah exercises over us.
Just as Jehovah set limits on the attack against Job, he has also set limits for his people. Isaiah 54:17 says that no weapon made against you will succeed. And in the end, no matter how much they attack us, his people remain strong because he protects them.
In the past and in the present, all of Satan's attacks have failed to defeat Jehovah's people. Even if we were to die, Jehovah has promised to bring us back to life if we remain faithful.
18. Why shouldn't we be afraid no matter what happens in the future?
We should not be afraid no matter what happens in the future because Jehovah will be with us and will have everything under control, just as the account of Job shows us. Even if Satan and his armies attack God’s people during the great tribulation, Jehovah will not allow them to cause any irreparable harm.
Furthermore, very soon Jehovah will end all the suffering that Satan has caused. Jesus will imprison the Devil and his demons in the abyss for 1,000 years, and finally, Satan will be completely and forever destroyed, just as Jehovah prophesied.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Because Jehovah will always be on our side and will take care of us. He will protect us, he has everything under control, and he will not allow Satan to put us through any trials we cannot endure.
We saw in a previous paragraph that discussed the first prophecy at Genesis 3:15, which showed that Satan was no longer part of that lineage. Here, what Jehovah prophesied will be fully realized. According to Romans 16:20, he will crush Satan’s head, and nothing will be able to prevent this. So, this will be the fulfillment from that first time until now.
As the paragraph states, during the great tribulation, Satan and his armies will think that God's people are defenseless. But, whatever they may think, Jehovah has already shown us, as the account of Job illustrates, that he is in control of everything. This reminds us that we are not defenseless, nor will we ever be, because Job was not, and neither will we be during the great tribulation.
19. How will Jehovah reward those who trust in him completely? (See also the picture.)
Jehovah will reward those who trust fully in him by allowing them to enjoy a perfect and completely happy life in the new world. For the first time in thousands of years, mankind will be free from the wicked, corrupting, and destructive influence of Satan and his demons.
Furthermore, those who survive Armageddon will witness miraculous healings and will be reunited with their loved ones through the resurrection. In this way, we will enjoy the life that Jehovah always intended for mankind.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Jehovah, in his infinite love for mankind, will reward those who trust in him with an end to suffering, pain, and death, as Revelation 21:4 says. That is, a renewed world, full of peace, justice, security, and lasting happiness, as well as a close relationship with him.
Revelation 21:5 says, “Look, I am making all things new.” What does this mean? It means that for the first time in thousands of years, humanity will be free from the evil and destructive influence of Satan and his demons. So we will feel great relief.
The image clearly shows the difference compared to the three previous photographs. In the foreground is this brother, who was previously seen imprisoned; now he is with a lion cub, calm and at peace. Also visible is a young couple who represent this brother who had lost his wife, for they have regained their youth and she has been resurrected. And in the background, a family is seen: that little girl who was sick now enjoys a healthy life with her parents. The summary is that this is what awaits us all in the future if we remain faithful to Jehovah.
ILLUSTRATION
The brothers in the previous images are enjoying life in Paradise. The older brother, now young again, walks with a resurrected loved one. The parents stroll happily with their daughter, who is now healthy. The brother who was imprisoned sits under a tree with a lion cub, reading the Bible.
Jehovah’s servants who remain faithful despite trials will receive many blessings. (See paragraph 19.)
20. What are you determined to do?
We are determined to be courageous in the face of any trial we may have to endure in these last days, to trust completely in Jehovah, and to uphold his sovereignty. We want to prove that Satan’s accusations are false because we love our heavenly Father.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We must be determined to be courageous, trust fully in Jehovah, and support his sovereignty.
Through our conduct, our loyalty to Jehovah, our perseverance, and our courage, despite all the trials that may come our way, we can prove that Satan is a liar and that Jehovah is there to help us, support us, and that he will never abandon us.
We must show that we love Jehovah, that, in the face of all the problems that may come to us, as happened to Job, even if we were to lose our lives, we continue to trust in him and know that, if we are faithful, Jehovah will resurrect us.
We must trust that, however difficult the situation becomes, Jehovah will have everything under control. He will limit the harm that can be done to his servants. And, above all, he will not allow this system of things to last a second longer than necessary to demonstrate that he is the Sovereign of the universe.
WHAT WOULD YOU ANSWER?
How does the book of Job show that Jehovah is the Most High?
The book of Job shows that Jehovah is the Most High because he uses his supreme authority perfectly and justly. In the heavenly assembly, Jehovah demonstrated that he was in complete control, even in the presence of Satan, who was already an opponent.
Furthermore, the account shows that Jehovah sets clear limits on what others can do. Although he allowed Satan to attack Job, he did not allow him to act beyond the limits that Jehovah himself established. This demonstrates that Jehovah has absolute authority and power over all of his creation.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Because the issue that arose in the heavenly assembly mentioned in the book of Job, which affects all mankind, shows how Jehovah is the Most High, since he kept it under control at all times. He also set limits on what could and could not be done. And that remains true today with his people and his servants. This encourages us to review this particular book and what happened. The truth is, we can see ourselves reflected in what lies ahead and in how we must act.
How does the book of Job show that Jehovah longs to reward his loyal servants?
The book of Job shows that Jehovah longs to reward his loyal servants because he deeply loves those who are faithful to him. One example of this is his promise to restore them to life, exchanging the pain of death for the joy of the resurrection.
Furthermore, Jehovah rewarded Job by restoring his health and giving him even more blessings than he had before. This was just a glimpse of what he will do in the future for all his faithful servants. Jehovah wants them to enjoy a completely happy life, reach perfection, and live forever in the new world.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
It shows why He blessed Job in the past and promises resurrection and eternal life in the future to all those who are faithful despite Satan's attacks.
Jehovah is not unjust. We can imagine that he was seeing Job's situation, wanting to bless him. We can imagine how much he longed to "push that button" to give him back everything he had lost and more. So, it is truly important to keep the book of Job in mind.
How does the book of Job show that we can trust Jehovah, the Sovereign of the universe, completely?
The book of Job shows that we can have complete trust in Jehovah, the Sovereign of the universe, because he always has everything under control and never abandons his servants. Despite Satan’s attacks and the opposition of powerful governments and leaders, Jehovah has protected his people and has not allowed them to be destroyed.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The account of Job gives us compelling reasons to trust Jehovah completely and to be grateful that he has not allowed Satan to wipe out his people, Jehovah's Witnesses, from the earth.
It shows us that we already have 9 million brothers and sisters, and we see how neither torture, nor forced labor camps, nor smear campaigns have been able to destroy us. As Isaiah 54:17 says, no weapon they make against us will have any effect.
Meditating on the account of Job strengthens our faith that Jehovah will be with us no matter what happens in the future. So, in the face of any trial we may have to endure in these last days, we must be courageous and resolute in trusting Jehovah completely and supporting his sovereignty, for he longs to use his immense power to reward his faithful servants.
