APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, July 13-19, 2026, Start conversations: FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Making disciples: a work of love, Lesson 5.5). Assignment Prepared.
Start conversations (3 mins.) HOUSE TO HOUSE. Introduce and discuss a video from the teaching kit, but do not play it (lmd lesson 5 point 5).
Setting: During house-to-house witnessing, the publisher initiates a conversation with a householder who indicates that she belongs to another religion. The publisher respectfully acknowledges her sincerity and directs the conversation toward a topic of common interest: the desire to live in a world where there is true peace. He then uses a short video that explains what God’s Kingdom is and how it will solve mankind’s problems.
Publisher: Hello, good afternoon. My name is [name]. We're talking for a few minutes with the neighbors about a question many people ask themselves: Do you think we'll ever be able to live in a world where there is true peace and no wars or violence?
Assistant: Good afternoon. Look, I appreciate your visit, but I want to tell you from the beginning that I belong to a different religion.
Publisher: Thank you so much for letting me know. Don't worry, I'm not here to talk about religions or to ask you to change yours. Rather, I'm interested in your opinion. Do you believe there will ever be peace in the world?
Assistant: I think so, but it will depend on us. If people obeyed God's commandments, were more honest, and loved their neighbor, the world would be very different.
Publisher: I really like what you just said. It's clear that faith is important to you and that you want a better world. I truly share that same desire.
However, there is a question that many people ask themselves: even if we all tried to be better, would that be enough to completely eliminate wars, crime, disease, and suffering?
Assistant: Well... the truth is, it doesn't seem easy. New problems always arise.
Publisher: Exactly. And that's exactly what the Bible explains. It teaches us that God not only wants people to change their behavior, but He has also prepared a government that will solve these problems at their root.
On that very topic, I'd like to show you a very short video, about a minute long. It explains simply what the Kingdom of God is and how it will bring about that change. Would you like to watch it on this tablet?
Assistant: Yes, of course. I do have a minute.
(After watching the video.)
Publisher: Thanks for watching. What caught your attention the most?
Assistant: I was surprised that the Kingdom of God was presented as a real government and not just something symbolic. I also liked the part where it says that God will end wars and suffering.
Publisher: That's right. That's a very important difference. Human governments make efforts to improve things, but none have been able to definitively eliminate the causes of suffering. In contrast, the Bible promises that God's Kingdom will.
For example, Psalm 37:11 says that "the meek will inherit the land and enjoy abundant peace." And Revelation 21:4 promises that God will eliminate pain, suffering, and even death.
Assistant: What a beautiful promise. To be honest, I'd never had those texts explained to me that way.
Publisher: I'm so glad to hear that. And I appreciate that, even though we belong to different religions, you took a few minutes to talk. I think we both share the desire to see a better world.
There is another promise in the Bible that also gives much hope. It says that God will bring back to life those who have died. If you'd like, on a future visit we could discuss the Bible's answer to this question: What happens to people when they die, and how will it be possible to see them again?
Assistant: Yes, I'd like to know that answer. You can come back another day.
Publisher: Thank you so much for your time and kindness. Have a wonderful afternoon.
