Start conversations (3 mins.) PUBLIC PREACHING. Find out what topic interests the person and show him/her our website, jw.org (lmd lesson 1 point 3).
Setting: During the ministry, the publisher starts a conversation with someone who is worried about rising prices. The publisher shows empathy, pointing out that it affects him too and that it's normal to feel that way. He also shows him the website JW.org, where he can find articles and resources on living practically and economically, with tips for saving on food and managing the family budget.
Publisher: Hello how are you?
Assistant: Hi, I'm fine, thanks. And you?
Publisher: Very well. Today I'm talking to people about God's purpose for all of us: to end the evil in the world.
Assistant: That sounds hopeful, but the truth is I'm really worried about the high cost of living. Food prices are through the roof, and I don't know how we're going to manage.
Publisher: I understand. It's something that affects everyone, and it's normal to be worried. I've seen the price increases too, and I know it's a heavy burden.
Assistant: Yes, and when you see the news about rising prices, you feel like the problem is everywhere.
Publisher: Exactly. I'd like to share something that might help ease that burden. It's on our website, JW.org. There you'll find articles and resources on how to live practically and economically, with tips for saving on food and managing the family budget.
Assistant: I really didn't know they had that kind of help.
Publisher: Yes, it's a helpful help section. We can review it together.
Assistant: Yes, that's fine. Sometimes I feel like there aren't many options, and knowing that there are resources that can guide us is a relief.
Publisher: I'm glad you see it that way. We can look at it right now.
Assistant: That seems perfect to me.
