Play the VIDEO Learn From Jehovah's Friends: Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.
How did Jehovah rescue his friends? (Da 3:24-28).
Jehovah sent an angel to protect Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah in the fiery furnace, demonstrating his power and his care for them. The fire did not harm them because Jehovah was with them, fulfilling his promise to be with his faithful servants.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Jehovah rescued Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah by sending his angel to protect them inside the furnace. Although the fire was very intense, nothing happened to them: they were not burned, their clothes were not damaged, and they didn't even smell of smoke. In this way, Jehovah showed that he cares for and protects those who trust in him.
Jehovah allowed Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah to be thrown into the furnace, but he did not leave them alone for a single moment. He sent his angel to protect them from the fire. This teaches us that Jehovah does not always remove trials, but he does give us the help we need to endure them without being spiritually harmed.
The rescue was so evident that even the king himself recognized it. Seeing that the fire had caused them no harm, Nebuchadnezzar understood that Jehovah is the true God. In this way, Jehovah used a difficult situation to give a powerful witness and demonstrate his great power.
How did Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah prove to be friends of Jehovah?
They demonstrated their faith and loyalty by refusing to worship the king's statue, prioritizing obedience to Jehovah over peer pressure. Their trust in Jehovah enabled them to stand firm even in the face of death, showing that their friendship with Jehovah was more important than anything else.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
They proved they were friends of Jehovah because they obeyed his commands, even though they knew they could lose their lives. They did not worship the king’s statue and trusted in Jehovah no matter what happened. They were courageous and put Jehovah first.
They demonstrated their friendship with Jehovah by standing firm in their beliefs. They did not compromise their obedience or seek an easy way out. They knew that worshipping the statue would be wrong, and they chose to obey Jehovah, even though it meant facing a very harsh consequence.
They also demonstrated their friendship with Jehovah by placing their complete trust in him. They said that Jehovah could rescue them, but even if he did not, they would remain faithful. This shows that they obeyed Jehovah out of love and not merely with the expectation of receiving something in return.
When is it difficult for you to obey Jehovah?
I find it hard to obey when I'm asked to do something I don't like, but I remember that Jehovah asks us to do what is right, even if it's difficult. Sometimes, when I see others doing something wrong and I'm tempted to follow them, I try to remember what the Bible says and ask Jehovah for help.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Sometimes it is difficult to obey Jehovah when others mock us, pressure us to do something wrong, or when obedience means being different from others. It can also be difficult when we feel afraid or don't want to look bad in front of others.
Sometimes it's difficult to obey Jehovah when we feel pressure from others, such as schoolmates, coworkers, or even family members. At those times, it can be scary to be different or to look bad, but it is precisely then that our faith is tested.
It can also be difficult to obey when our emotions overwhelm us, such as when we are tired, upset, or discouraged. At such times, obeying Jehovah requires extra effort and remembering why we want to please him.
What can you do to obey Jehovah?
I can pray to Jehovah for help and read the Bible to better understand his commandments and apply them in my life. I can also ask my parents and friends for advice to help me do what is right, and seek the support of family and friends who encourage me to obey. Furthermore, I can remember that Jehovah is always with me, giving me the strength to obey. When I feel weak, I remember his promises and trust in his help.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
I can pray to Jehovah for courage and wisdom. I can also remember examples like Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, and think that Jehovah always rewards obedience. In addition, I can ask my parents or brothers and sisters in the congregation for help and trust that Jehovah will help me.
I can strengthen my faith before trials come. For example, by reading the Bible, watching videos like this one, and meditating on examples of faithfulness. That way, when the difficult time arrives, my decision will already be clear.
I can pray sincerely and ask Jehovah for courage and wisdom. He understands our struggles and is always ready to help us. With his support, it is possible to obey him even when it seems very difficult.
Let us strive to learn from Jehovah's friends every day (5 mins.) Discussion with the audience.
Where can we find time to learn about Jehovah and his friends every day?
In our activities and in our free time, instead of spending a lot of time browsing on our cell phones, we can watch the videos from the series “Let’s Learn from Jehovah’s Friends”.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We can find time in simple moments of the day, such as when we are with our family before bed, at the start of the day, or even during short periods of free time. By using brief resources, such as the videos in the series, learning about Jehovah can be a natural, everyday experience, not a complicated one.
You don't need a lot of free time to learn about Jehovah. Even a few well-spent minutes, such as watching a short video or discussing a Bible story, can help us learn something valuable each day.
If we make spiritual learning a part of our daily routine, a habit, it will be easier to maintain. Just as we set aside time to eat or rest, we can also set aside time for Jehovah.
Which Bible characters would we like to get to know better, and why?
The series “Let Us Learn From Jehovah’s Friends” features Mephibosheth, Joshua and Caleb, Abigail, Abel, Jeremiah, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Learning from these individuals benefits us because it helps us to trust in Jehovah and to develop qualities that make us better people and that undoubtedly please Jehovah.
I would like to know in more detail the story of Daniel, a brave man who was with a hungry lion and whom Jehovah rescued.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We would like to learn more about people like Joseph, Abigail, Deborah, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, because they faced real problems and yet remained faithful to Jehovah. Their examples help us learn how to be obedient and courageous, how to forgive, and how to do what is right in our daily lives.
Getting to know people like Mephibosheth or Jeremiah better helps us see that it is possible to be faithful to Jehovah, even when others treat us badly or don't listen to us. Their experiences are similar to situations we face today.
We would also like to learn more about Joshua and Caleb, because they trusted in Jehovah when most did not. Their examples teach us that obeying Jehovah sometimes means being different, but it is always worth it.
