TREASURES FROM GOD'S WORD, October 27-November 2, 2025, Enjoy a Happy and Healthy Life, Prepared Speech.

Enjoy a happy and healthy life (10 mins.)

Dear brothers and sisters, we live in a world where the fast-paced nature of life often confines us to walls, screens, and routines. However, Jehovah, in his wisdom, has created a natural environment full of benefits for our health.

Whenever possible, get outside to get some sunshine and fresh air.

Have you ever stopped to consider the value of fresh air and sunlight? Sunlight is not only pleasant, but it also has disinfecting properties that can help eliminate microbes and bacteria that transmit infections.

LET'S READ ECCLESIASTES 11:7, 8

“The light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun. 8 If a man lives many years, let him enjoy them all. But let him remember that they may be many dark days; all that is to come is in vain.”

A study conducted by the UK Ministry of Defense revealed an interesting finding. Researchers wanted to know how long dangerous bacteria would survive in the air. To test this, they secured E. coli microorganisms to spider web threads and exposed them to open air overnight. After two hours, almost all of them had died. But what happened to those left in a sealed box under the same conditions? Most survived.

This experiment suggests that there is something in the open air—something that has yet to be precisely defined—that acts as a natural disinfectant, eliminating dormant germs in the atmosphere. This shouldn't be surprising, since Jehovah has created a perfect world to keep us healthy and alive.

Sunlight, for example, promotes the production of vitamin D, which strengthens our bones and immune system. Plus, getting outdoors improves our mood, reduces stress, and helps us sleep better.

So, whenever you have a chance, take a walk, breathe deeply, admire Jehovah's creation… and you'll see how your overall well-being improves.

Take care of your physical and emotional health

The Bible is not a medical manual, but it contains valuable principles that help us live better lives.

LET'S READ ECCLESIASTES 11:10

“So remove worries from your heart and harmful things from your body, because youth and the prime of life are fleeting.”

What things could be harmful to us today? We can think of bad habits like poor diet, lack of sleep, excessive alcohol consumption, or even a sedentary lifestyle.

Jehovah expects us to take care of our bodies, which are a precious gift. 1 Corinthians 6:12 reminds us that not everything within our reach is good for us. And 1 Corinthians 9:25 speaks of self-control, a quality that is essential to our health.

Making wise decisions requires using our thinking skills, as Proverbs 2:11 says: “A good mind will protect you, and understanding will guard you.” For example, if we like a food but know it's harmful to us, the wisest thing to do is avoid it. Right?

Furthermore, common sense tells us that we need to get enough sleep, maintain good hygiene, exercise, and maintain a clean environment. These habits strengthen not only our bodies but also our emotional health. And when our bodies and minds are healthy, it's much easier to serve Jehovah with energy and enthusiasm.

Above all, worship Jehovah with all your heart.

Now, while fresh air, good rest, and a healthy diet are important, there is one thing that fills us with true happiness and well-being: our relationship with Jehovah.

LET'S READ PSALM 119:2

“Blessed are those who heed his reminders, those who seek him with all their heart.”

Jesus also taught in Luke 11:28: “Blessed are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice!” That is a happiness that goes beyond the physical. It is an inner peace, a deep joy that only comes from walking in harmony with Jehovah’s principles.

Jehovah's servants are happy because we study His Word and try to apply it in our lives. As James 1:22-25 says, we not only listen, but we act. And what is the result? We please our Creator, we get along better with our family and siblings, and we avoid many unnecessary problems.

As King David said in Psalm 19, after praising Jehovah's laws and regulations, "There is great reward for those who obey them." That reward isn't always material, but it is lasting: a clear conscience, healthy relationships, and the sure hope of eternal life in the paradise Jehovah has promised.

Conclusion

Dear brothers and sisters, enjoying a happy and healthy life is possible when we follow Jehovah's loving guidance.

Let's get out into the sun and breathe fresh air whenever we can. Let's take care of our physical and emotional health with healthy habits and wise choices. But above all, let's love Jehovah and serve him with all our hearts.

By doing so, we will not only be better off in the present, but we will also prepare for a perfect life in the new world, where health and happiness will be complete and eternal.
