LIVING AS CHRISTIANS, November 3-9, 2025, “The generous will be blessed.” Analysis and Responses.
“The generous will be blessed” (15 mins.) Analysis with the audience led by an elder.
Play the video "Generosity Makes Us Happy." Then ask:
How did the generosity of the worldwide brotherhood contribute to the happiness of the brothers in the video?
The generosity of the worldwide brotherhood enabled the brothers in the video to receive help in times of need, such as during the typhoons in the Philippines and the economic crisis in Venezuela. Thanks to donations, they were able to receive financial assistance, packages, phone calls, letters, and direct support from other brothers, which lifted their spirits and allowed them to meet their basic needs. This made them feel happy and grateful because they experienced Jehovah’s love through the help of their brothers and the protection he provided.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Sister Cherry’s happiness was greatly enhanced by the generosity of the worldwide brotherhood. After the typhoons struck the Philippines, she received help from fellow brothers and sisters who cleaned her house and removed fallen trees, allowing her to experience the love of Jehovah and her brothers and sisters. This experience motivated her to volunteer for relief work, which also brought her satisfaction and happiness as she helped others.
In Brother Frank’s case, the generosity of the worldwide brotherhood made him happy because, during the worst of the economic crisis and the pandemic in Venezuela, he received financial assistance, packages, letters, videos, and phone calls that lifted his spirits. Thanks to these contributions, he and his family were able to meet their basic needs and continue serving Jehovah with confidence and gratitude.
And, in turn, how did being generous with others make them happy?
By cooperating and offering their help, as Sister Cherry did by participating in relief efforts, the brothers and sisters experienced joy and satisfaction in seeing how their generosity helped others receive support and feel Jehovah’s love. Giving generously allowed them to feel useful, see the positive results of their help, and experience the happiness of contributing to the well-being of their brothers and sisters in difficult situations.
In summary, the generosity of both those who receive and those who give generates mutual happiness and strengthens unity and love within the congregation.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Being generous with others made Sister Cherry happy because, by volunteering for relief work, she was able to share the love of Jehovah that she herself had received. By helping other brothers and sisters affected by the typhoons in the Philippines, she felt satisfaction in seeing that her generosity helped alleviate their need and allowed others to experience that same love.
Being generous with others made Brother Frank happy because, by helping through initiatives such as home gardens in Venezuela, he enabled his brothers to meet their basic needs and continue serving Jehovah. Seeing the positive results of his help and the well-being of others brought him joy and satisfaction, confirming that “there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.” (Acts 20:35)
