SPIRITUAL GEMS: April 7-13, 2025, PROVERBS 8, Answers.
Let's look for hidden pearls (10 mins.)Pr 8:1-3. In what sense does wisdom “not stop shouting loudly”? (g 5/14 16).
In the words of The World Book Encyclopedia, the Bible is “the most widely read book in history, the one that has been translated the most times and into the most languages.” It is available in whole or in part in more than 2,600 languages, making it available to more than 90% of the human family. Therefore, it is as if wisdom does not stop shouting loudly.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Wisdom is also crying out in a more literal sense. In Matthew 24:14 we read: "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached throughout the entire inhabited earth, as a testimony to all nations, and then the end [of the present world] will come." Thus wisdom has not ceased to proclaim the message of Jehovah.
Wisdom cries out loud because it is widely available through the word of God, the Bible. As The World Book Encyclopedia highlights, the Bible is the most distributed and translated book in history, which makes its teachings within the reach of the majority of humanity.
Thanks to this unprecedented reach, people can hear the cry of wisdom anywhere in the world, in their own language and in multiple forms of communication, such as publications, websites and applications. This fulfills the picture in Proverbs, where wisdom does not hide, but shouts in public places seeking everyone's attention.
Wisdom “does not stop shouting loudly” because it is constantly available to everyone. Proverbs 8:1-3 shows how wisdom is available to everyone; It does not hide, but invites everyone to listen and live according to its principles. Today, the Bible, containing divine wisdom, is translated into thousands of languages and is accessible to millions of people.
In Matthew 24:14 we are reminded that the message of God's kingdom is preached to the entire earth, which means that Jehovah's wisdom is available to all who wish to hear it and apply it in their lives.
Just as Proverbs 8:1-3 shows that wisdom cries out in the squares and streets, today as Jehovah's Witnesses we preach the message of Jehovah's wisdom to all nations. Through preaching and publishing, the good news reaches millions of people, showing us that Jehovah’s wisdom truly “does not stop shouting loudly” throughout the world.
Jehovah’s wisdom also “screams loudly” because it is everywhere: in nature, in biblical teachings, and in the advice we hear in our meetings. If we are attentive, we can hear the voice of wisdom guiding us in our daily lives. For example, if we make decisions based on biblical principles, we avoid many problems and live in peace. Jehovah's wisdom is always present; We just need to open our ears and hearts to listen to it and follow it.
Wisdom does not stop shouting loudly for the universal availability of the Bible, since it is the most translated and distributed book globally. It is available in full or in part in more than 2,600 languages, which has made it available to 90% of humanity. So we can say that its message can reach almost all people.
Wisdom does not stop shouting loudly because the prophecy of Matthew 24:14 is literally being fulfilled, so the preaching of the good news of the kingdom of God is giving global witness and proclaiming biblical truths throughout the inhabited earth in a persistent manner.
Wisdom does not stop shouting loudly about the relevance of the message of the Bible, which seeks to capture the attention of humanity. Biblical teachings offer practical guidance, spiritual comfort, and future hope in a world full of challenges. Furthermore, it is accessible to all types of people, in their own language or dialect, through preaching and teaching, and even through new technologies.
Wisdom does not stop crying out loud because Jehovah's knowledge and guidance are widely available to all humanity. The Bible, the most translated and widespread book in history, makes divine principles available to most people. Furthermore, the worldwide preaching of the Kingdom, as mentioned in Matthew 24:14, is another way in which wisdom cries out loudly, ensuring that all have the opportunity to know and apply the ways of God.
Although the Bible and kingdom preaching are within the reach of most people, only those who pay attention and apply its teachings truly benefit from it. As mentioned in Proverbs 1:20, wisdom cries in the streets, but it must be heard and acted upon to receive Jehovah's blessing.
The fact that wisdom is shouting loudly highlights the urgency of the message. It is a compelling call that demonstrates Jehovah's deep love for humanity. He wants all people to have the opportunity to know him and benefit from his guidance before the end comes.
In a literal sense, the Bible is the “most widely disseminated book in history, the one that has been translated the most times and into the most languages.” It is available in more than 2,600 languages, making it accessible to more than 90% of the human population. Wisdom is crying out in an even more literal sense, for in Matthew 24:14 we read the prophecy of the worldwide preaching of the good news of the Kingdom.
What spiritual pearls have you found in this week's Bible reading?
Proverbs 8:4. The call of wisdom is universal, since it is addressed to all humanity. Even the inexperienced are invited to obtain sagacity or prudence, and the foolish to understand. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Bible is a book for everyone and seek to encourage everyone to search it and find the words of wisdom it contains.
Proverbs 8:10. The gifts that wisdom gives to those who listen to it are more valuable than gold, silver or corals. She herself lists them: "I, wisdom, have received with sagacity and I find even the knowledge of the capacities of thinking. The fear of Jehovah means hating what is evil. Self-exaltation, pride, the evil way and the perverse mouth, I have hated."
Proverbs 8:12. Wisdom confers sagacity and the ability to think. The man who possesses godly wisdom also has reverent fear of God, since “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Therefore, he hates what Jehovah hates and is far removed from haughtiness, arrogance, immoral conduct, and perverse speech. His aversion to evil distances him from the corrupting influence of power. It is very necessary for those who have responsibilities in the congregation and for the heads of families to pursue wisdom.
Proverbs 8:13. In the Bible, wisdom personified says the following: “Self-exaltation and pride […] I have hated.” Pride and wisdom are polar opposites. We must act wisely and try not to become haughty or arrogant. In this regard, we must be especially alert to those who have done well in certain aspects of life or have been entrusted with a position of responsibility in the congregation.
Proverbs 8:13. The scriptures indicate that “the fear of the Lord means hating evil.” A biblical lexicon defines such hatred as the “attitude towards objects and people to which one opposes, detests and despises, and with which one avoids any type of contact or relationship.” Therefore, the fear of God involves feeling aversion or repugnance towards what is evil in his eyes. It shows us and moves us to avoid evil, just as instinctive fear leads us to retreat when we are on a precipice. “In the fear of the Lord, one turns away from evil,” the Bible says.
Proverbs 8:13. Jehovah himself is repelled by evil. For example, Ephesians 4:29 refers to dirty speech as 'corrupt sayings.' The Greek term for “corrupted” applied literally to decaying fruit, fish, or meat. This adjective vividly shows the repulsion that foul or insulting expressions must produce in us. Likewise, in the Scriptures idols are often described as “dunghills.” Since excrement spontaneously disgusts us, we understand how much God dislikes all types of idolatry.
Proverbs 8:13. Jesus left us a model that we must follow with great care and attention. "When they were reviling him, he did not begin to revile. When he was suffering, he did not begin to threaten, but continued to entrust himself to the one who judges justly." If we fear Jehovah, we too can endure the reproaches, mockery, and persecutions to which we are subjected in Satan's world.
Proverbs 8:14. Among its fruits are insight, understanding and power, faculties that leaders, high officials and nobles need. It is essential for those who occupy positions of authority and those who must give advice.
Proverbs 8:17. True wisdom is available to everyone. However, not everyone finds her, and others, even if she knocks on their door, reject her or avoid her. “Those who love me, I myself love, and those who seek me are those who find me.” Therefore, only those who sincerely pursue it achieve it.
Proverbs 8:17-31. Is this simply a description of wisdom? No, because wisdom has always existed as an attribute of the eternal God. But here it is said that wisdom was “produced” and that it was “at his [Jehovah's] side as a master worker” during the creation of the Earth. Identifying wisdom personified with the son of God fits with the fact that “carefully hidden in him are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Proverbs 8:32. Jesus Christ is the very embodiment of the wisdom of God. “Carefully hidden in it are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Therefore, let us not neglect listening to him and follow his steps with great attention. Rejecting it is equivalent to 'doing violence to our soul and loving death', since "there is no salvation in anyone else." Let us accept Jesus as the divine means of salvation. If we do so, we will obtain the happiness that comes from ‘finding life and obtaining the good will of Jehovah.’
Proverbs 8:1-3. We learn that Jehovah does not hide his wisdom, but makes it public; proclaims it in visible places. This reminds us that He wants us all to come to the knowledge of the truth, if we are willing to listen.
Proverbs 8:5. We learn that even those who lack understanding can learn to make wise decisions if they accept instruction. Jehovah does not expect us to be wise from the beginning. He knows our limitations and understands that many of us start out inexperienced, with an immature or confused mind. But what he does look for in us is a humble attitude, a heart willing to learn and be guided.
Proverbs 8:7. We learn that there can be no true wisdom if sin is tolerated. Jehovah wants us to cultivate a love for the truth and a sincere rejection of what is morally wrong.
Proverbs 8:8. It indicates that every word he spoke came from Jehovah, without deceit or error. That gives us confidence to follow his teachings and apply his words in our daily lives.
Proverbs 8:11. The wisdom that comes from Jehovah is not only valuable, but it is better than the most precious jewels. This teaches us that we should value spiritual qualities more than material goods. A life guided by divine wisdom is safer, happier and more satisfying than a life full of luxury without spiritual direction.
Proverbs 8:13. True fear of Jehovah is not passive. It involves actively rejecting everything He hates. This includes not only visible acts, but also internal attitudes such as arrogance and pride. To fear God is to love what He loves and hate what He hates.
Proverbs 8:17. Loving Jehovah means obeying him, meditating on his word, and living according to his will. When we show that love, He reciprocates with His guidance and protection.
Proverbs 8:20. This verse teaches us the importance of following a straight path in our lives. Righteousness involves living in accordance with solid and just moral principles, which guide us toward goodness and truth. The path of righteousness is a symbol of living with integrity, doing what is right in the eyes of Jehovah. In our service to Him, it is vital that we choose this path, even though it is often more challenging, because it leads to peace and true well-being.
Proverbs 8:20. The paths of justice reflect the need to make wise and fair decisions that not only benefit oneself, but also others. Living justly is not about simply following rules, but about acting with compassion, fairness, and respect for the rights of others. By walking these paths, we demonstrate Jehovah's love and justice in our daily lives.
Proverbs 8:30. Jesus found joy in serving his Father. And we too can experience that same happiness by being close to Jehovah. We feel happy when we obey Him, praise Him, or talk about Him. If we follow Jesus' example, even day after day, Jehovah will be our joy and we will be a source of joy to Him, just as Jesus was.
Proverbs 8:6, 7. Jehovah's wisdom is clear and unambiguous. It is not confusing or difficult to understand, but speaks directly and precisely. If we pay attention to it, we will understand that its advice is practical and easy to apply in our lives. We must be willing to listen and put into practice what it teaches us.
Proverbs 8:10, 11. Jehovah's wisdom is more valuable than any material wealth, such as gold or silver. Although the world values material possessions, true wealth lies in living according to divine principles. This wisdom brings us a peace that riches cannot offer, and has eternal value.
Proverbs 8:12. Wisdom not only provides us with knowledge, but also gives us prudence. This means having the ability to make wise decisions that protect us from dangers and guide us on the right path. By following Jehovah's wisdom, we avoid making hasty decisions that could have negative consequences.
Proverbs 8:17. Jehovah's wisdom is not something cold or distant; On the contrary, he loves us and wishes us the best. When we seek His wisdom, He grants it to us generously and lovingly, guiding us toward what is best for us. This wisdom takes care of us and protects us, giving us what we really need.
Proverbs 7:32, 33. Listening to and following Jehovah's wisdom brings us many blessings, such as his protection and guidance. By following their guidance, we avoid many problems and make decisions that benefit us. Wisdom not only improves our daily lives, but also helps us become closer to Jehovah and live according to his will.
Proverbs 8:35, 36. Finding the wisdom of Jehovah means finding true life, both in the present and in the future. It gives us purpose and keeps us away from destructive decisions. By following it, we gain the promise of eternal life, guided along a path that leads to a full and happy existence under the Kingdom of Jehovah.
Proverbs 8:1-5. These verses show that wisdom is presented as an active voice crying out in public and accessible places. This teaches me that the knowledge of Jehovah is not hidden or exclusive, but is available to all who sincerely seek it.
Proverbs 8:6-9. Here I learn that divine wisdom always speaks truthfully and justly, and that its words are right and clear to those who have spiritual discernment. So, as servants of Jehovah, we must be upright, honest, and sincere people, without hypocrisy and with clean conduct at all times.
Proverbs 8:10-11. These verses highlight the incomparable value of divine wisdom, which is superior to any material possession. So, as servants of Jehovah, we must learn to value spiritual knowledge above worldly achievements and material wealth.
Proverbs 8:12-21. These verses show that wisdom offers practical benefits for daily life, such as prudence, good judgment, and guidance in making good decisions. So success in this life is achieved with wisdom, and wisdom is obtained by deeply respecting Jehovah and his principles.
Proverbs 8:22-31. These verses reveal the divine origin of wisdom, showing its role in Jehovah's perfect creation. Therefore, if we contemplate nature and its design, we will strengthen our faith in the creator. Likewise, we will be more motivated to fully trust in Jehovah, knowing that his wisdom is limitless.
Proverbs, Chapter 8. Chapter 8 of Proverbs concludes with an urgent call to respond to divine wisdom, but to do so we must first learn to listen to it without rejecting it. This should encourage us to maintain consistency in our Bible study, meeting attendance, and ministry, recognizing that our relationship with Jehovah is a matter of life and death.
Proverbs, Chapter 8. Proverbs chapter 8 teaches us that true wisdom comes from Jehovah and must be actively sought each day. So, as Jehovah's Witnesses, we must apply these principles by valuing spiritual knowledge over material knowledge, by making decisions based on the Bible, by maintaining integrity in all circumstances, and by boldly proclaiming biblical truths. If we do so, we will enjoy a closer relationship with our wise creator and make our hope for eternal life in his new world even more secure.
Proverbs 8:4-5. These verses are a call for all types of people to search the Bible and find the words of wisdom it contains. Even the inexperienced are invited to obtain sagacity and prudence, and the foolish to understand.

Proverbs 8:17. This verse teaches that true wisdom is available to everyone. However, not everyone finds her, and some even reject her even if she knocks on their door. Only those who love it and sincerely seek it will achieve it.
Proverbs 8:19. This verse teaches that in addition to excellent traits and qualities such as prudence, thinking ability, humility, insight, practical wisdom, and understanding, wisdom also gives riches and honor. And this is because the wise person can both become honestly rich and prosper spiritually. This brings you honor, happiness, peace of mind and a clear conscience before God.
Proverbs 8:10, 11. This passage reminds us that divine wisdom is an unmatched treasure, much more valuable than any material wealth. As the world pursues temporal goods, Jehovah invites us to prioritize his wisdom, which brings eternal benefits.

Proverbs 8:33, 34. This passage encourages us to be diligent in seeking divine wisdom. It reminds us that we must be attentive to Jehovah's teachings as if we were waiting at the doors of his house. Wisdom is not obtained by chance, but through a constant effort to learn and apply its principles in our daily lives.

Proverbs 8:32. This verse exhorts us to follow the ways of divine wisdom. It reminds us that obeying Jehovah's principles not only protects us, but also fills us with joy and satisfaction. Keeping His ways is the key to living a full and blessed life.
Proverbs 8:1. Here it is said that wisdom is calling all of us. It is good that today we ask ourselves: Am I listening to the voice of wisdom in my life? It is good to look for moments to listen to it, for example, in the Bible, in nature, in advice during meetings, in conversations with brothers and even in the experience of others.
Proverbs 8:10. This teaches us that one of the best investments we can make is in the spiritual. We live in a world that prioritizes the material, but here Jehovah teaches us that we must also prioritize the spiritual. Many people invest in learning a career, a language or a trade, and that is fine, but it is also important to invest in our spirituality.
Proverbs 8:30. Wisdom participated in creation: our Lord Jesus Christ. In our case, Jehovah God has given us capabilities and abilities to create solutions, art, and good ideas. We can use our talents or abilities to give glory to Jehovah and thank Him for the abilities or talents He has given us.

Proverbs 8:35. Wisdom is not just knowledge; It is abundant life and divine approval. If we live with peace and purpose, it is because we are reaping the fruit of following Jehovah God.
Proverbs 8:13. This teaches us that we must be defined. Wisdom is not something neutral or lukewarm: it takes a stand against sin. We do this when we reject "small" lies, gossip, prideful attitudes, and contempt for others. It is good to identify these things that God hates and replace them with the opposite, the positive, and we will see how our lives change.
Proverbs 8:14. This teaches us that wisdom is not only about “seeming wise”, but about putting it into practice, to make firm decisions and help others. A biblical example was Joseph in Egypt. He was gifted with impressive wisdom that he used to save others. Jehovah blesses us so that we can bless others.
Proverbs 8:15. Wisdom is essential for human leaders. If we have that responsibility, it is good to ask ourselves: how do I do it? It is good to imitate Jesus: serving with justice, "without ceasing to be humble." Make decisions thinking about the good of others, not just your own.
