Explain your beliefs (5 mins.) Speech. ijwbq article 160. Title: Why is Jesus called the Son of God? (th lesson 1).

INTRODUCTION

Let's imagine that a child asks his father: "Dad, why am I your son?" The answer is simple: because his father gave him life. Similarly, when the Bible calls Jesus "the Son of God," it helps us understand that God gave him life and that he has a special relationship with Him. Today, we will discuss why the Bible uses this title and what it means to us.

The answer that the Bible gives us is the following:

Jesus is called "the son of God" because he was created directly by Jehovah. John 1:49 mentions it with this title (Read the text).

Colossians 1:15 describes him as "the firstborn of all creation." To illustrate this, let's think of a craftsman who makes a beautiful pot with his own hands. That first creation is special because it was made directly by him, without intermediaries. In the same way, Jesus was the only creation made directly by God; all other things were created through Jesus (read Colossians 1:16).

Now we ask: What does it mean for Jesus to be the son of God?

He was the first being created. As we have already seen, Jesus was Jehovah's first work and was with Him from the beginning, and has a special position. As the eldest son in a family, Jesus has a unique relationship with his father and is his primary representative. For example, in John 17:5, Jesus talks about the glory he had with God before coming to Earth (you can read the text if you want).

Jesus is also God's spokesperson. Another term the Bible uses is "the Word" (John 1:1), indicating that God used Jesus to convey his message. To illustrate this, let's think of an ambassador who represents a country and transmits official messages. Jesus has been God's chief spokesperson since ancient times.

CONCLUSION

Calling Jesus “the son of God” helps us understand that he has a unique place in creation and in Jehovah's purpose. He is the first created being, the representative of his father and his spokesperson.

Let's imagine that someone gives us a very valuable book that belonged to their family for many generations. How are we going to treat it? With great care and respect. Likewise, knowing the special role of Jesus helps us appreciate Jehovah's love in sending him to Earth and motivates us to listen to his teachings.

Let's continue delving into the Bible to know Jesus better and get closer to his father, Jehovah.
