We have many reasons to praise Jah (10 mins.)
It is interesting to note that Jehovah has always comforted us. Through time each of us has the experience that this has been the case, and since ancient times we have seen that this is how it was with his people. In fact, Jehovah not only comforted the nation of Israel as a people, but also comforted each individual Israelite.
Today it is something very similar. And why do we say it? The writer of Psalm 147 says that God is healing the brokenhearted and binding up their sore parts. Indeed, when we, for example, are sick or depressed, we can trust that Jehovah is eager to comfort us and heal our emotional wounds. In fact, it gives us the strength and wisdom necessary to face any problem.
LET'S READ PSALM 147:3,4
Heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds. Count the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.
This is very interesting, these details are very important brothers, because first of all, as the text says, He can heal all those who have a broken heart and who are depressed by that same situation, by some problem, but individually, we can understand that this is the case, also because it says that He counts the number of stars and Calls them all by name.
You can imagine how many stars there are in the universe, there are billions of stars, there are even those who say there are trillions of stars. So, if you have a name for all of them and you can tell them, imagine if you don't know about each one of us, about the problems we have.
Because the problems are diverse, as we can see in the image, we can have problems with a husband who leaves home, and if he is a Christian as the image looks, it may be that this person has been removed from the congregation, is leaving, or simply no longer wants to be with his Christian wife.
Then we see how Jehovah uses the means he has to reach her and heal her through his word, The Bible, as seen in the middle. And from something that was completely dry, it comes to begin to bloom, to such a degree that on the right side we see the same sister, already comforted with the word of Jehovah, and she is now like a flower that has come forward.
That is why, brothers, we must take into account that Jehovah takes care of each one of us. Now, Jehovah understands that we face a variety of problems every day, and Jehovah has the power to help us.
That's right, as we mentioned a while ago, there are many stars, perhaps a glimpse of this is what we will see below. Sometimes, perhaps, it may seem to us that our situation, our problems, are so difficult that we cannot move forward, but God knows our limitations and remembers that we are dust. Indeed, since we are imperfect, the reality is that we are going to make mistakes and sometimes the same mistakes over and over again.
Surely we all regret something we said, some bad desire we have from time to time and the envy we feel at times. Although Jehovah does not have any of these problems, he understands us perfectly. That is to say, Jehovah does not have any of these problems, but that does not mean that he does not understand us. Understanding that we are limited beings, will Jehovah have the power to help us?
LET'S READ PSALM 147:5
Our Lord is great, his power is immense, his understanding infinite.
And so it is, in a vision Elijah saw the great power that Jehovah had, in that image, you can see how he was keeping him in a cave, but he could see how Jehovah had all that great power, with the tremors that he saw, the movement of the rocks, the thunder, all that magnificence was seen by Elijah.
And indeed, we can understand that with his immense power and his infinite understanding he can help each of us. That is why Jehovah understands us perfectly and uses his power, that great power that Elijah saw to help us.
Now, the psalmist knew that the Israelites had a great privilege, because God had chosen only them to give “his word,” “his regulatory positions and his judicial decisions.” That is, Jehovah had chosen the nation of Israel, not because it was a populous, large town, but on the contrary, because it was a small town, it was a very small town, and Jehovah paid attention to it, so that his word might reside in it.
We can also feel privileged, because Jehovah has chosen only us to bear his name, we know God and his word guides us. Because of all this we can be his friends, so we are very grateful, just like the writer of Psalm 147 We say the following: “We have many reasons to say praise Jah”, And to invite other people to do the same.
LET'S READ PSALM 147:19,20
He announces his word to Jacob, his rules and sentences to Israel. He has not done this with any other nation; They know nothing about their sentences. Praise Jah!
Indeed, we can understand that it is a great honor to be part of your people. And so it is, how important it is to see how the brothers in the image are reunited because Jehovah is the one who feeds us and is the one who gives us the strength to move forward. Now, ask yourself this: What other reasons do I have to praise Jehovah? Well, without a doubt, we all have our experiences so that we can praise Jehovah for all he has done for us.
