Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2025

Do not be their accomplices (Eph. 5:7).

Satan wants us to associate with people who make it harder for us to obey Jehovah's standards. Today, we can spend time with others not only in person but also on social media. No matter how much the world tells us that immoral behavior is okay, let us not be deceived; we know that this is a lie. (Eph. 4:19, 20)

Let us ask ourselves: “Do I make sure to avoid all unnecessary contact with schoolmates, coworkers, or others who do not respect Jehovah’s righteous standards? Am I courageous and stand up for Bible principles even when people call me intolerant?”

On the other hand, as 2 Timothy 2:20-22 indicates, we must also be careful when choosing our friends within the congregation. Let us remember that not everyone will help us be faithful to Jehovah. w24.03 22, 23 pars. 11, 12.

As we see from Angela's experience, why is it so important to follow the advice of Ephesians 5:7?

Paul advised the Ephesians to avoid those who practiced evil. He told them, “Do not be accomplices in their company” (Eph. 5:7). We must be even more careful than the Ephesians. Why? Because today we not only have the opportunity to spend time with others in person, but also on social media.

A sister from Asia named Angela explains how she discovered how dangerous social media can be: “It can cloud your mind little by little, without you even realizing it. I got to the point where I didn't mind having 'friends' who didn't respect biblical principles. Eventually, I began to think it wasn't so bad to live a life that displeased Jehovah.”

It's great that the elders lovingly helped her make the changes she needed! She says, "Now I don't fill my head with social media anymore, but with spiritual things."

What should we do if we want to obey Jehovah’s standards?

No matter how much the world tells you that immoral conduct is okay, don't be fooled; we know that's a lie. (Eph. 4:19, 20) Ask yourself: "Do I make sure to avoid unnecessary contact with schoolmates, coworkers, or others who don't respect Jehovah's righteous standards? Am I courageous and stand up for Bible principles even when people call me intolerant?"

On the other hand, as 2 Timothy 2:20-22 indicates, we must also be careful when choosing our friends within the congregation. Let us remember that not all of them will help us be faithful to Jehovah.
