How did Ariel and Diego defend the name of Jehovah?
In Diego's case, when he changed schools, he felt pressured to smoke electronic cigarettes. Although he was afraid, he knew he had to be firm, it was not enough to just say no, but to be firm in his decision, and being clearer helped him a lot to trust in Jehovah and pray as well. He was able to defend his faith by researching some biblical principles such as not contaminating meat, this helped him a lot to calm him down and tell him that he believed in the Bible and would not do something that displeases the name of God.
Why did they want to defend Jehovah?
They wanted to defend him because they saw him as a friend whom they loved very much. With their behavior they showed him their love and respect, because for them he is a living God.
How can we follow their example?
We can imitate this example when we contribute to vindicate or defend the name of Jehovah. We do this when we praise him by speaking of him with affection and gratitude. When we preach, our main objective is for people to feel attracted to him and come to love him as much as we do.
Another way to imitate the example of these young people is to show people with the Bible the beautiful qualities that Jehovah has, such as his love, his justice, his wisdom and his power. If we defend the name of Jehovah as these young Christians do, people may notice that we are different from the rest of the people and wonder why. It is likely that in our daily lives opportunities will arise to explain the reasons to them. In the end, good-hearted people will feel attracted to our God. When we praise Jehovah in these ways, we rejoice in his heart.
