“The heavens declare the glory of God” (10 mins.)

When we examine our surroundings in our lives, we realize that there are inanimate objects that say or declare something in our lives even though they have no voice. We can refer to a traffic sign where it says stop, where we must stop, the object is simply there, but because of what it shows, we must take action. 

So it is with creation. Although he has no voice, however, he tells us much about Jehovah. We are going to talk about this in this section of Treasures of the Bible, with the title: "The heavens declare The glory of God." These words are derived from the text of Psalm 19:1 that I encourage you to read.

LET'S READ PSALMS 19:1.

The heavens declare the glory of God; The heights proclaim * the work of his hands.

The one who said this expression was David. David's profession was to be a shepherd and we can already imagine in the time when he lived where there was no electricity, he had to be with the flock during the nights sleeping with them. So we can think of the starry sky that he constantly observed, something wonderful. 

Perhaps you have been in a place like this, far from the city, where the glow of electricity from the city does not hinder your vision of the heavens. We see what is not seen being in a city due to light pollution.

Therefore, when David is mentioning this Psalm, this creation of the heavens declare or speak about the glory of God, he was remembering many of those scenes in his youth. 

And the heavens or speaking of the universe, although it has no words, nevertheless tells us a lot about the glory of Jehovah. And the more we contemplate the universe, the more mute we human beings become. 

For example, very few days ago, less than a week, news began to circulate that was published in a scientific journal, in The Astrophysical Journal. Here astrophysicist Professor Jorryt Matthee of the Austrian Institute of Science and Technology said these few words, "Something doesn't add up," referring to something called quasars.

These are objects that, when we look towards the sky, we think are stars but they are not, they are rather very distant galaxies, but very luminous and heavy, which is why their reflection makes us confuse those of us who do not know very well about them. this matter.

Well, these baby quasars that have now been found could solve one of the biggest unknowns in astronomy. However, instead of helping to understand the universe, they confuse human beings more. 

And they do not understand how it is possible that this is being discovered, and that for scientists, astronomers, things do not add up as they believed they were. And to give a brief example, they say that these baby quasars that are now being discovered or are being better understood is like looking at a 5-year-old child who is 2 meters tall.

 That is to say, they do not understand how that is possible, it is impossible for that to happen and that is what is being seen today, as they say, they are too big for the age of our universe, but the thing is that human beings have set the age of the universe. . So now they realize that their calculations are very wrong. 

And that is what David said, the creation, the heavens declare the glory of God, they speak for themselves, that what we human beings believe or think is wrong, that this is supremely infinite, and that the power of Jehovah is immense, as we have seen during this weekend in the special discourse when the resurrection was talked about. 

Jehovah has the power and we were shown three scenes about space, about the universe, and each one well explained about what we believe it is, and how Jehovah has created the universe with so many billions of millions of stars, and that each one of them has his name, and that Jehovah knows him very well. 

Only speaking of one of the stars that is known to us as the sun symbolically, David, by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote the following about the sun in Psalm 19 verses 4 to 6.

but throughout the earth his sound has gone out, and to the last corner of the inhabited earth* his message has gone out. He has pitched a tent for the sun in the heavens, 

5 who is like a bridegroom coming out of the bridal chamber and rejoicing like a mighty man running on his way.

6 It comes out from one end of the heavens and goes around to the other end; nothing can hide from its heat.

Jehovah caused David to express under inspiration the description of the path of the Sun. Verse 5 says that he is like a bridegroom who leaves his bridal chamber when it is just dawn, and walks like a powerful man on his path when it is dark. 

This impressive star for us, which is medium in size compared to others, has a mass that amounts to 200 quadrillion tons. It remains about 150 million kilometers from us and only a billionth of its energy reaches our planet to sustain life, but it does make itself felt, right?

At certain times in recent months the earth's temperature has risen tremendously, and we received a very small part of that force. Surely, that medium-sized star alone declares the glory of God. But just as there are very large signs in traffic, there are also small signs that say something and that one should take caution. The contrast of such a huge sun, Jesus mentioned with something very small like grass. If we see in Matthew chapter 6 verse 28 Jesus said the following.

Also, why do they worry about clothes? Learn a lesson about how lilies of the field grow. They neither toil nor spin;

This humble plant and flower, which is also known as Azucena in many places, grows in different types of soils, they can be in the field, among thorns, even among rocks. Its flower emits a very pleasant smell, attractive to both humans and insects. In many places it is used inside homes for the aroma it gives and for its beauty, and for having such delicate flowers.

If Jehovah has made it possible for something apparently insignificant to become something so pleasant, but with so much care on the part of God, with so much good and beautiful elaboration, with all the more reason he is teaching us that Jehovah will not be indifferent when it comes to providing us with what is necessary to be dressed appropriately, as you do with a flower. 

It is clear the heavens declare the glory of God, the creation declares the glory of God, no matter how insignificant it may be, how can we come to better appreciate this in our activity guide, we have this drawing, where someone is in the field observing the creation , something beautiful as immense as the universe, but there are things so small that they can teach us a lot, and that is why the suggestion is, that for our family worship we spend some time observing creation, that could be our family worship, going out to the field and spend there lying on the hyena, seeing the majesty of Jehovah's creation and talking about what God's creation teaches us.

We want to magnify our creator, we want to see all his qualities in what surrounds us. and demonstrate that we can learn a lot without needing these things to speak to us. But we can learn a lot from Jehovah throughout our lives.
