SERVICE COMMITTEE REPORT

Let us remember the faithful work of the special pioneers

Paul spent time preaching in the bustling city of Corinth. In fact, the account in Acts 18:5 says that he dedicated himself completely to preaching the word or, as the study note of the New World translation says, Paul dedicated himself completely to the word. Those words well describe the work of the thousands of brothers around the world who serve as special pioneers today. Just like Paul, they dedicate themselves fully to preaching, every month they dedicate about 100 hours to preaching. Since they do not have much time to work, they surely receive a little financial help to cover their expenses.

Many of us know what it means to be a Regular or auxiliary pioneer. You may be one of them, but what makes special pioneering special? In this report we will look at all that special pioneers have done and continue to do to support and extend the work of making disciples, and we will also look at what we can do to support these loyal brothers.

The first special pioneers were appointed more than 85 years ago at the 1937 convention in Columbus, Ohio. Brother Rutherford explained that about 200 pioneers had been selected to be special pioneers, they would be an example in the use of one of the most effective tools of the time "The portable phonograph." Part of the prophecy indicated that people who loved God and they wished to do it right that they would listen to the warning that their witnesses would give.

By then the Brothers had already been using phonographs for several years to give brief messages from the Bible, but normally they only did so when they were invited inside the house. Those newly appointed special pioneers would use the phonograph in a totally new way, they It was about the fact that a recorded message was placed on the person's door after a few introductory words. In a short time, tens of thousands of phonographs were being used to preach.

Special pioneers also encouraged the work of revisiting people and conducting Bible studies. They focused mainly on the big cities, but in a few years they were already preaching in other places, now they were also preaching in remote places, as a result of the tireless work of those intrepid precursors, hundreds of new congregations were formed, today that group of 200 special pioneers has become one of more than 27,000, these brothers continue to do great work by preaching in places where preaching was not done before. Some who were in the special full-time service, whether in another facet such as circuit work, are now special pioneers. Their experience and enthusiasm greatly benefit the brothers who are with them.

Laurie and I were at Bethel for more than 30 years, but one day they called us and gave us a new assignment, we would be special pioneers and when we met with them it was a little sad, we already imagined what they would tell us, but it is clear that it was what that Jehovah wanted, and then we took a photo with them, we keep it with affection, because it is a memory of a new chapter in our life.

When they arrived it was as if they had adopted all the young people in the congregation and the truth is that this made the young people participate more in the Ministry and did so with more enthusiasm. Jehovah is using us in a way that allows us to help the congregation, and at the same time the Brothers care for us, encourage us, and help us. When we change the chip and do not focus on ourselves, but on our brothers and the people to whom we preach, Jehovah immediately makes us happy. This couple worked very hard for Jehovah when he was serving at Bethel and now that they have a new assignment in the Macedonian congregation they continue to give Jehovah their best.

There are special pioneers in your congregation or in your circuit, if so, spend time with them, parents try to let your children know them, we can all express to them how much we value their example of faith. Special pioneers are willing to serve wherever they are needed, whether in their country or in some cases in other places, well, where do special pioneers come from, in most cases it all starts when a regular pioneer goes to school to evangelizers of the kingdom Depending on the needs, some graduates are appointed temporary special pioneers for a maximum of three years, after which some continue to be special pioneers and others are invited to serve as Missionaries.

When I found out that they had named me a temporary special pioneer, I was shocked, I was a little afraid, I felt overwhelmed, but I was excited. I loved being available to the brothers, being able to go out with them to preach at different times, call them and things. So, it has been great to be able to spend more time supporting the brothers. We never thought we would like it so much, because it was never, it was never our goal, we never thought that we could be special pioneers and we didn't know much about what it was about. When you hear special pioneering you think, well, we thought it was for special people, they are great at preaching, that's what special precursors are like. So when we received the assignment we thought that someone normal could be a special pioneer.

So the school for Kingdom evangelists has become essential for those who want to do more for Jehovah and his organization. The school for Kingdom evangelizers recharged our batteries, gave us strength to continue preaching with enthusiasm, the two months we were there helped me to speak better the pure language of truth and after graduation when we went to a foreign-speaking congregation I felt like I had more strength than ever. Not only are we trained, but we are also helped to draw closer to Jehovah than we could have imagined.

Since the school is for Kingdom evangelizers, we thought we were going to rehearse to preach every day, but the school focused on helping us become better friends of Jehovah, we were so excited we would go anywhere. Many would like to choose their assignment and it is logical. However, when we let Jehovah and his organization decide for us, we received very good training and found the best place to grow spiritually.

We really enjoy being in a foreign-speaking congregation, because we can show Jehovah's love and kindness to people from other countries who have suffered so much. I am very happy, because even though I am living in Korea I feel like I am a missionary. I love my assignment very much, I love it when you serve others you feel immense joy and Jehovah blesses you a lot. Being a special pioneer is the best thing in life because you can dedicate all your time and energy to Jehovah. I can't wait to know where Jehovah will send me.

The experiences of these special pioneers who had attended the school for evangelizers of the Kingdom, show that young couples and singles, even if they are under 30 years old, can set this goal and the truth is that many special pioneers are needed. So you younger ones, what would you think about setting this goal? It is an opportunity to obtain training and experience to make you more useful to Jehovah, you will see that there is no better life, but of course, not all of us can be special pioneers, what we can do is support them in their work. Their enthusiasm, perseverance and loyalty make them a true treasure. Dear special precursors, we want to dedicate Paul's words to the Thessalonians. He wrote: "We constantly remember his faithful work, his work motivated by love and his endurance."
