“Continue to show that you truly love Jehovah” (10 mins.)
Trials, illnesses, injustices, suffering, are things that appear suddenly, overnight, when one least expects it. And to verify this, just look at the news about natural disasters that take many people by surprise. There may be other problems that also take us by surprise, but how will our way of reacting to these events be? .
In this Bible Treasures speech titled: “Continue to show that you truly love Jehovah” We are going to analyze an example that will help us. A man who faced unimaginable trials and tribulations. Who are we talking about? Of course we are referring to Job, a righteous and God-fearing man, who was accused by Satan of serving Jehovah out of self-interest.
Satan questioned the sincerity of his love for God, and this challenge tested Job's loyalty and integrity. Let's imagine for a moment Job's life before adversity struck him. He was a man of great wealth and respect among the Easterners.
However, the most important thing is that despite his position, Job never considered himself superior to others nor did he believe that he did not need God in his life. Jehovah Himself described him as “A blameless and upright man, fearing God and eschewing evil.” While he was enjoying a quiet life the following happened, Job chapter 1 verse 8 to 11, it says like this......
LET'S READ JOB 1:8-11.
And Jehovah said to Satan: “Have you noticed my servant Job? There is no one like him on earth. He is an upright * and upright man who fears God and avoids all evil.” 9 Then Satan answered Jehovah, “Has Job feared God for nothing? 10 Have you not put a hedge around him, his house, and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his livestock has spread throughout the region. 11 But now he stretches out your hand and strikes everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your very face.”
How we see that his life took an unexpected and tragic turn. She lost everything: his wealth, his health, and even his family. He fell into a deep depression and reached the point of wishing for death. But let us remember that the culprit of all this was Satan, who falsely accused him of worshiping Jehovah out of selfishness.
Jehovah, in his infinite wisdom, took the perverse accusation seriously. He gave Job the opportunity to demonstrate his loyalty and genuine love for God. Satan, in his constant desire to accuse us, tells us that we do not truly love Jehovah, that we give up serving him if our lives are in danger, and that we are not complete in our devotion to God. But think about these words that we find in the Biblical record of Job in chapter 2 and verses 4 to 5, if he found it, please accompany me with the reading. He says like this……..
LET'S READ JOB 2:4,5.
But Satan answered Jehovah: “Skin for skin. The man will give everything he has to save his life. 5 So, if you now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and his bones, he will surely curse you to your face.”
How do these words make us feel? Surely it hurts our hearts, but let us remember that Jehovah has unwavering trust in us. He is allowing us to face trials and tribulations in order to prove that we are whole and that Satan is a liar. And, most importantly, God promises us his help at all times.
Isn't it an honor to have the trust of the King of the universe? And what can we do? We must strive to be upright in our worship of Jehovah so that we can refute Satan's accusations. Thus we will defend the good name of our heavenly father and his way of governing.
Let's think about the image of a sister who, after a natural disaster, wears a safety helmet while preaching to a lady. That sister shows us that showing love and loyalty to Jehovah is the most important thing, even in the midst of difficulties.
In conclusion, dear brothers, let us remember that each of us has the opportunity to demonstrate that Satan is a liar AND that we truly love Jehovah. Our lives must revolve around God at all times, in good and bad times, since to be true witnesses of our faith and love we must continue to demonstrate that we truly love Jehovah and that we are complete in our devotion. May Jehovah bless all your efforts to demonstrate integrity in times of difficulty, just as Job did.
