TREASURES FROM THE BIBLE, November 22-28, 2021, “A Brave Man's Secret Plan,” Prepared Speech.

“A Brave Man's Secret Plan” (10 min.)

How do you feel when you receive a new assignment within Jehovah's congregation or organization? There can be two reactions, one, that you are afraid, panic, terror, because you may not know if you are going to perform well the work that you are assigned or the other reaction is. "I am ready to do it." It was time!.

In our Treasures of the Bible section, titled “A Brave Man's Secret Plan,” we will note that when one receives an assignment from Jehovah, it is not because we have all the abilities, qualities, or all the gifts necessary to carry out that assignment. work. Simply, Jehovah chooses a person to carry it out. But Jehovah will do everything.

Let's analyze what happened to the people of Israel after Joshua died, the situation had deteriorated. The Israelites again demonstrated their lack of trust in Jehovah and of corrupting pure worship. They were now for 18 years under the slavery of King the Eglon of Moab. After this time, the Israelites reconsider and begin to cry out to Jehovah for help. What did Jehovah do?

LET'S READ: Judges 3:15.

So the Israelites begged the Lord to help them, and the Lord gave them a savior: Ehud son of Gera, a Benjaminite who was left-handed. Eventually, the Israelites sent Ehud to pay tribute to Eglon, the king of Moab.

The biblical account in our video that we saw previously is mentioned as the second judge Israel had. Special characteristics of this man: he was from the tribe of Benjamin and he was left-handed. They had the ability to use the sling with an amazing precision they could hit a hair. So one might consider that this man was the one to do it.

Today, also when we receive an assignment from Jehovah, it is not because we have 100% abilities and that is why Jehovah chooses us. So let's not think. "It was about time they gave me this privilege." When Jehovah wants to do something, he chooses someone and Jehovah takes care of polishing it or using it at the appropriate time.

So he did with Ehúd from a special tribe and he was left-handed, but he also needed someone brave. For what?

LET'S READ: Judges 3:16.

Ehúd made a two-edged sword an cubit long and then tied it to his right thigh, under his clothing.

As he was left-handed, he had to put the sword on the right side, to quickly use it. No one was going to suspect a southpaw. He gives the tribute or the payment that the people always gave to the king who was in slavery. After doing so, he retires and some time later he decides to return alone.

LET'S READ: Judges 3: 21,22.

And Ehud took out with his left hand the sword that was tied to his right thigh and plunged it into Eglon's belly. 22 The whole sword went in, including the handle, and the fat covered the sword because Ehud did not take it from his belly, and the king's excrement came out.

In other words, he killed the king. Once this was done, he fled. Some time later, the king's slaves, upon entering, find him already dead. They managed to get out of the slavery of this king and his nation. It is very clear, Jehovah chose Ehúd for certain abilities that Jehovah had already thought should be used, but more on a brave man who trusts in Jehovah, who is Jehovah's instrument.

So the next time we get an assignment to do, let's not think that we are the ones with what it takes to do that job. Sometimes one or two abilities are enough to be used by Jehovah. We will show that we are courageous to do what Jehovah asks us to do, but above all else, we will demonstrate our absolute trust in Jehovah.
