APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, August 3-9, 2026, Make Return Visits: FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Making Disciples: A Work of Love, Lesson 9, Section 5). Assignment Prepared.

Make return visits (4 mins.) HOUSE TO HOUSE. Offer a magazine on the subject discussed on the previous visit (lmd lesson 9 item 5).

Setting: During a return visit, the publisher brings up the topic of his previous conversation with a housewife about raising children and discusses with her some advice from the Awake! magazine. Through a question and the analysis of a Bible text, they emphasize the importance of listening patiently to children to build their confidence.

Publisher: Hi, [name]. It's so good to see you again! How have you been? How are things with the kids?

Assistant: Hi. It's so good to see you again! We've been doing well, thanks. It's been a bit of a hectic week, but we're getting there.

Publisher: I'm glad to hear that. Last time we talked about how challenging it is to raise children. That's why I brought you this issue of Awake! magazine, titled “12 Keys to a Happy Family.” The great thing about this information is that it's not based on human opinions, which change over time, but on Bible principles that have proven helpful for centuries.

Assistant: It looks very interesting. Does it really offer 12 key points?

Publisher: Yes. In fact, it covers different aspects, such as communication, respect, and discipline. I'd like to briefly show you key number 5, which is on page 8. It's titled "Having good communication."

Before we look at what the Bible says, I'd like to ask you something. In your opinion, why do you think some children find it difficult to tell their parents what's really bothering them?

Assistant: I think that sometimes they are afraid of being scolded or they think that we won't understand them.

Publisher: That's a very astute observation. Many young people feel exactly the same way. For that reason, the magazine emphasizes the importance of creating an environment where children feel heard and valued.

Look at what James 1:19 says: “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger.”

What lesson do you think parents can learn from this advice?

Assistant: I think we should first listen calmly before drawing conclusions or scolding them. If they feel we're listening, it will be easier for them to trust us again.

Publisher: Exactly. That advice not only helps resolve problems when they arise, but it also strengthens trust between parents and children. When a child or teenager knows they can speak without fear, they are more likely to seek their parents' help before making a bad decision.

Furthermore, the magazine mentions that spending quality time with children and talking to them every day makes a big difference. Sometimes, just a few minutes of sincere conversation can greatly strengthen family relationships.

Assistant: It's true. With so many things to do, we think the important thing is to fulfill our household responsibilities, but sometimes we simply forget to sit down and listen to our children.

Publisher: That's right. And the beautiful thing is that the Bible not only identifies the problem, but also offers practical advice for strengthening the family.

In our previous conversation, you also mentioned that you were interested in learning how to apply these principles without feeling overwhelmed. The Bible contains many other tips that can help families enjoy a happier and more peaceful environment.

If you'd like, next time we could analyze another biblical principle related to communication in the family and see how it can be applied in daily life.

Assistant: That sounds great. These tips have really made me think, and I believe they can be a big help to us as a family.

Publisher: I'm so glad to hear that. So, if it's alright with you, I'll come back next week, at this same time, and we'll continue discussing other practical principles the Bible offers.

Assistant: Of course. I'll be waiting for you here. Thank you so much for coming back.

Publisher: Thank you for having me and for sharing your thoughts. I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy reading the magazine. Until next time!

Assistant: Likewise. Take care. See you later!
