APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, June 22-28, 2026, Start conversations: FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Making disciples: a work of love, Lesson 3, point 4). Assignment Prepared.
Start conversations (4 mins.) FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (lmd lesson 3 point 4).
Setting: During the house-to-house witnessing, the publisher begins a conversation with a housewife who indicates that she has been caring for her sick husband for several months. He expresses empathy and shares, using the Bible, a message of comfort and the hope of a future free from illness. The housewife is encouraged, accepts the brochure “Where to Find Comfort,” and expresses her gratitude for both the words of encouragement and the interest shown.
Publisher: Good morning. My name is Marta. We're making brief visits to families in the neighborhood to share a message of encouragement. How are you feeling today?
Assistant: Good morning. To be honest, I'm a little tired. My husband has been ill for several months, and I spend most of my time taking care of him.
Publisher: I'm so sorry to hear that. It must be a very difficult situation. Caring for a loved one requires a lot of physical and emotional effort.
Assistant: Yes, sometimes I feel like I don't have enough time for everything. Between doctor's appointments, medications, and housework, I end up exhausted.
Publisher: It's understandable that you feel this way. Many people who care for a sick relative experience that same exhaustion. We don't want to take up too much of your time, but I'd like to share a short thought from the Bible that has comforted many people in similar situations. May I?
Assistant: Sure, go ahead.
Publisher: In Matthew 11:28, Jesus Christ said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” These words remind us that God understands our burdens and wants to help us bear them.
Assistant: What a beautiful text. Sometimes you feel like you have to carry everything alone.
Publisher: That's right. But God sees what we do, even when no one else notices. He deeply values the love and dedication you show in caring for your husband.
Assistant: Thank you for saying that. Sometimes you feel discouraged and need to hear something like that.
Publisher: I am glad that these words have brought you comfort. Furthermore, the Bible promises that the day will come when sickness will be no more. Isaiah 33:24 mentions that no one will say, “I am sick.” That hope has given many people strength to keep going.
Assistant: How wonderful it would be to see that day. My husband has suffered a lot.
Publisher: This will undoubtedly be a great relief to millions of people. In the meantime, God can give us the strength we need to face each day.
Assistant: Thank you for sharing that with me. It's really cheered me up.
Publisher: I'm glad to hear from you. Before we go, I'd like to leave you with this booklet entitled "Where to Find Comfort." It contains short, comforting Bible verses that you can read when you have a free moment.
Assistant: Thank you very much. I will gladly read it.
Publisher: It's been a pleasure meeting you. My name is [name].
Assistant: Nice to meet you, [name]. I am [name].
Publisher: It's a pleasure, Mrs. [name]. I hope you and your husband are well. If you'd like, we could come back another day to share another encouraging thought from the Bible.
Assistant: Yes, I would like that. Thank you very much for your visit.
Publisher: Thank you for having us. Have a peaceful afternoon and all is well at home.
