APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, May 18-24, 2026, Start Conversations: PUBLIC PREACHING. (Making Disciples: A Work of Love, Lesson 1, Section 5). Assignment Prepared.
Start conversations (3 mins.) PUBLIC PREACHING. Find out what topics the person is interested in and arrange to talk again at another time (lmd lesson 1 point 5).
Setting: During the public witnessing with the carts, a person approaches and shows interest in one of the publications. The publisher tells him that he can take the brochure that caught his attention, since they are free, and, based on the title of the brochure, shows him a Bible verse that gives him hope.
Publisher: Good morning. If any of the topics you see here seem interesting to you, you can take any brochure you like. They are all free.
Assistant: Oh, that's great. Thank you very much.
Publisher: I see you chose this one: “And your family can be happy.” It’s a topic that really grabs your attention because it offers very practical advice for everyday life. And these days, keeping a family together isn’t always easy, is it?
Assistant: That's right. The truth is, there are many challenges to face.
Publisher: Exactly. That is why this booklet explains how Bible principles can help strengthen families and contribute to happiness at home. For example, the first section highlights the importance of turning to God. In fact, it mentions a beautiful principle found at Psalm 19:8.
Assistant: Could you please read it to me?
Publisher: Of course. It says: “The orders of Jehovah are righteous, making the heart joyful. The commandments of Jehovah are pure, enlightening the eyes.”
Assistant: What a beautiful text.
Publisher: Yes, and it teaches us that taking into account the Creator of the family can greatly help us to find happiness and stability in the home.
Assistant: You're right. I'd like to read the brochure carefully.
Publisher: Perfect. And if you have any further questions or would like to discuss this further, I'd be happy to help. I'm usually here on Mondays, or if you prefer, we can exchange phone numbers.
Assistant: That sounds great. Look, my number is...
