APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, May 25-31, 2026, Start conversations: FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Making disciples: a work of love, Lesson 1, point 4). Assignment Prepared.

Start conversations (3 mins.) HOUSE TO HOUSE. Use a tract to start a conversation (lmd lesson 1 point 4).

Setting: During house-to-house witnessing, the publisher talks with a person about the hope of one day living without suffering or pain. Using a Bible text, he shows what the Bible promises for the future. The conversation is friendly and respectful, and the person agrees to continue discussing the topic on a future visit.

Publisher: Hello, good afternoon.

Assistant: Good afternoon.

Publisher: We're visiting the neighbors to talk about a question many people ask themselves at some point in their lives. [Showing them the tract.] Do you believe the day will come when there will be no more suffering or pain?

Assistant: Honestly, I find it quite difficult. Every day there are more problems: illnesses, violence, economic crises… It seems that suffering is a part of life.

Publisher: I understand why you feel that way. Sometimes, everything we see around us can make us feel like things will never get better. But the Bible contains very encouraging promises. Look at what it says here in Revelation 21:4. Would you like to read it?

Assistant: Yes, of course. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Publisher: Thank you. Did you notice the things she mentions will disappear?

Assistant: Yes, it talks about tears, death, crying, and pain.

Publisher: That's right. Imagine what life would be like if all of that ceased to exist.

Assistant: That would be wonderful. Although, honestly, it's hard to believe it could happen.

Publisher: It's normal to have that doubt. Nobody wants to believe in something that has no basis. But notice that the Bible not only promises to alleviate suffering, but to completely eliminate its causes. Furthermore, it teaches us that God has the power to do so and also the desire, because He cares for us and doesn't want to see us suffer.

Assistant: Well, that makes sense. If God truly loves us, it must pain Him to see so much suffering.

Publisher: Exactly. And the Bible also explains why God has allowed suffering until now and why we know it won't last forever. I'd like to show you what the Bible teaches on that subject another time.

Assistant: Yes, I would like to hear more.

Publisher: That's great. Then, if you'd like, I can come back this week at the same time to continue our conversation.

Assistant: Yes, okay.

Publisher: Perfect. Thank you so much for your time. Have a wonderful afternoon.
