Happy to have Jehovah in our lives (10 mins.)

Dear brothers and sisters, let us consider this question for a moment: What truly brings us happiness and peace in life? Many people today seek security in material things, political leaders, or even religious traditions. But the Bible clearly shows us that there is only one true source of peace and happiness: having Jehovah in our lives.

Idols cannot hear those who cry out to them for help (Is 57:13; ip-2 269 pars. 14-16).

In ancient times, the people of Judah fell into a grave error: on the one hand, they claimed to serve God, but on the other, they possessed a vast collection of idols. Jehovah, through the prophet Isaiah, exposed Judah's false righteousness and spoke to them very clearly.

LET'S READ ISAIAH 57:13

“When you cry out for help, your collection of idols will not save you. A wind will carry them all away, a mere breath will take them away, but he who takes refuge in me will inherit this land and take possession of my holy mountain.”

And that is exactly what happened. In 607 BCE, Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians. The idols were utterly powerless. They did not listen, they did not answer, they did not save.

This teaches us a powerful lesson: anything that replaces Jehovah in our lives is worthless. Today, we may not have images of wood or stone, but many people put their trust in money, technology, governments, or even religious leaders. Yet none of these can listen or respond when we truly need them.

On the contrary, Jehovah does listen. He is a living God, interested in us, who answers our prayers and guides us with love. That is why we are so happy not to depend on empty things, but on the true God!

Those who do not have Jehovah in their lives live agitated lives and are not united (Is 57:20; w18.06 7 par. 16; it “Earth” par. 21).

The Bible compares this world to a turbulent sea, which is never calm. Have you ever seen the sea during a storm? The waves crash against each other uncontrollably. That is what life is like for those who do not have Jehovah.

LET'S READ ISAIAH 57:20

“But the wicked are like the troubled sea that cannot be calmed, whose waters keep throwing up seaweed and mud.”

Today we see it clearly. People are divided by politics, social differences, and ideologies. There is conflict, violence, and a lack of unity. Although many seek peace, they cannot find it.

But there is a beautiful contrast. Jehovah’s people enjoy peace and unity. Why? Because Jehovah is “the God of peace,” and peace is a fruit of his spirit. When we follow his principles, when we obey his commandments, we cultivate that peace in our hearts and in our relationships.

Zephaniah 3:17 reminds us that Jehovah even rejoices when he sees his people united and at peace. Think about our congregations: people of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds, but united in love. That is not by chance; it is the result of having Jehovah in our lives.

Those who do not have Jehovah in their lives live agitated lives and are not united (Is 57:20; w18.06 7 par. 16; it “Earth” par. 21).

Finally, let us analyze what the Bible says about those who do not have Jehovah in their lives.

LET'S READ ISAIAH 57:21

“There is no peace for the wicked, says my God.”

The Bible is very clear on this point: “There is no peace for the wicked.” Why? Because peace is a fruit of the holy spirit, and Jehovah is its only source. Therefore, true peace depends on having a good relationship with Jehovah.

Sin and injustice break that relationship. The psalmist said, “There is no peace in my bones because of my sin.” When a person acts wrongly, they may appear calm, but inside there is restlessness, guilt, or emptiness.

In contrast, those who strive to do what is right can have peace. The Bible says that we must turn away from evil and do good. It also teaches us that peace is related to justice and righteousness, and that we must love Jehovah's Law and obey his commandments.

Therefore, it is not surprising that those who ignore Jehovah do not find lasting peace. They may have moments of joy, but not a deep and stable peace.

The picture in our activity guide shows two sisters enjoying the ministry together. We can see that their faces convey peace, contentment, and joy. In contrast, the “sea” of mankind is turbulent and full of hatred, while we cooperate in unity. Jehovah is pleased to see this difference between the division of the world and the unity of his people.

Conclusion

Dear brothers, the contrast is very clear: idols neither listen nor can save, the world lives in turmoil and division, and the wicked have no peace.

But we have something much better: we have Jehovah in our lives! He listens to us, guides us, and gives us a peace that the world cannot offer. He enables us to live together as a spiritual family and gives us hope for the future.

So let us continue to cherish this very special relationship. Let us stay close to Jehovah, obeying his commandments and trusting in him at all times.

If we do this, we will not only be happy now, but we will enjoy true peace forever. Then we will be able to enjoy the great privilege of having Jehovah in our lives.
