I will be a guest in your tent forever (Psalm 61:4).

We enter Jehovah’s “tent” when we dedicate our life to him. There we enjoy abundant spiritual food and the company of Jehovah’s other guests. But where is this symbolic tent located? It is not in just one place; it is everywhere Jehovah’s obedient servants are. (Rev. 21:3) And what about Jehovah’s servants who died faithful? Are they still guests in his tent? Yes. Why do we reach this conclusion? Because the Bible shows that they are alive in Jehovah’s memory. Jesus explained: “That the dead are resurrected, even Moses revealed it in the account of the burning bush, when he called Jehovah ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, because to him they are all alive.” (Luke 20:37, 38) w24.06 3 pars. 6, 7

What benefits do we receive from being in Jehovah's tent?

Just as a literal tent protects from bad weather and offers rest, Jehovah’s tent protects us from spiritual harm and gives us hope. When we stay close to Jehovah, Satan cannot do us any irreparable harm (Ps. 31:23; 1 John 3:8). And in the new world, Jehovah will continue to protect his faithful friends from all spiritual harm and from death (Rev. 21:4).

9. How should Jehovah's guests behave?

What a great honor it is that Jehovah allows us to stay in his tent, granting us the eternal enjoyment of his friendship! But how should we conduct ourselves if we want to remain his guests? If someone invited us into their home, we would like to know what they expected us to do. For example, they might want us to take off our shoes before entering, and we would gladly do so. Likewise, as guests of Jehovah, we want to know what he expects us to do to remain in his tent. We love him so much that we strive to please him in everything (Col. 1:10). It is true that Jehovah is our friend, but he is also our God and our Father, and therefore he deserves our deep respect (Ps. 25:14). For this reason, we should never forget who he is. The fear of Jehovah will help us to avoid any conduct that could offend him and to walk “modestly” with our God (Mic. 6:8).

What example do we have of Jehovah treating all his servants fairly?

Jehovah has always been impartial to all his guests (Rom. 2:11). Consider, for example, the way he treated the Israelites encamped in the Sinai wilderness.

After freeing his people from slavery in Egypt, Jehovah appointed priests to serve at the tabernacle. He also assigned the Levites other tasks related to that sacred tent. Were those who served at the tabernacle or those who lived nearby better cared for? No, Jehovah cared for everyone equally.
