APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, April 6-12, 2026, Start conversations: INFORMAL PREACHING. (Making disciples: a work of love, Lesson 2, point 4). Prepared Assignment.

Start conversations (3 mins.) INFORMAL PREACHING. Talk about the Memorial to a coworker (lmd lesson 2 point 4).

Setting: Before going to work, the publisher talks to a colleague he invited to the commemoration and explains how the meeting went.

Publisher: Hi, [name]. How are you? How was your weekend?

Assistant: Hi, [name]. Everything's fine, thanks. A bit busy with family, actually. And you?

Publisher: I'm glad. I was also with my family, and we also spent some time in spiritual reflection attending the commemoration of Jesus' death.

Assistant: Ah, yes… I remember you invited me. I'm sorry I couldn't come, things got complicated at home.

Publisher: Don't worry, I completely understand. I appreciate you taking it into account.

Assistant: Thanks. Hey, how was the meeting?

Publisher: It was really beautiful. It's a very important occasion for us. We gather to remember Jesus' sacrifice and how it helps us have a better relationship with God by forgiving our sins.

Assistant: And how does that commemoration unfold?

Publisher: A Bible-based sermon is presented explaining why Jesus died and how his sacrifice benefits us. Bread and wine are also passed around, just as he did, to commemorate that moment.

Assistant: Interesting. And what impressed you the most?

Publisher: It made me reflect on the great love of God and Jesus. Thanks to that sacrifice, we have the opportunity to be forgiven and to be reconciled with God.

Assistant: It sounds very meaningful. Although I've always wondered… does that sacrifice guarantee forgiveness?

Publisher: That's a good question. Rather than automatically guaranteeing everything, it gives us the opportunity. It's like opening a door to a friendship with God.

Assistant: A friendship?

Publisher: Yes. But, like any friendship, it needs to be nurtured. It's not enough to know that Jesus died for us; we also have to show through our actions that we value that sacrifice.

Assistant: That makes sense. Like any relationship, if you don't do your part, it cools off.

Publisher: Exactly. That's why these occasions help us to reflect and motivate us to continue strengthening our friendship with God.

Assistant: I find it very interesting, [name]. It's a shame I couldn't go.

Publisher: That's okay. If you'd like, we can talk more calmly another time and see what the Bible says about this.

Assistant: I would like to, actually.

Publisher: Perfect, we'll look at it when you have time.
