APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, February 23-March 1, 2026, Start conversations: INFORMAL PREACHING. (Making disciples: a work of love, Lesson 4, point 4). Prepared Assignment.
Start conversations (2 mins.) INFORMAL PREACHING. Find a way to talk to the person about your work as a Bible teacher (lmd lesson 4 point 4).
Setting: The publisher begins a conversation with someone in a hospital about how difficult it is to see so many people suffering there. The person wonders if sickness will ever end. The publisher offers hope by quoting a Bible verse that says: “And no inhabitant will say: ‘I am sick.’ The people living on earth will be forgiven for their sin.”
Publisher: It's so hard to see so many people suffering in these corridors, isn't it? You leave here wishing that no one ever had to go through this.
Assistant: It's true. Sometimes you wonder if this will ever change, because it seems like diseases never end.
Publisher: I understand her perfectly. I used to feel so powerless and without answers in the face of pain. That's why I love dedicating time to teaching others what the Bible says.
Assistant: And what does the Bible say about this? Because doctors do what they can, but it's not enough.
Publisher: You're right, doctors are wonderful, but the Bible gives us a promise that only God can fulfill. Look at what it says here in Isaiah 33:24: “No one living in the land will say, ‘I am sick.’ The people who live in this land will be forgiven for their sins.”
What I love about this thought is that it's not a human opinion, but a promise from God. My work is to help people see that they can lean on something real. Imagine a future where hospitals are no longer needed. It gives me a very solid foundation to get through tough times, and that's what I share with others.
Assistant: I wish that were the case; it would be such a great relief for everyone.
Publisher: This is the greatest comfort I have found. If you would like to read more about when and how this will happen, there are articles on JW.org that explain these promises directly from the Bible. I sincerely hope you receive good news today and that your family member recovers soon.
