Let us examine the Scriptures every day 2026

Praise be to the Lord, my Rock, who trains my hands for battle (Psalm 144:1).

We can be fine examples of constancy and stability if we obey Jehovah in everything and make decisions based on Bible principles. If we study the Bible and strengthen our faith, we will grow stronger and more grounded in the truth each day. We will not be indecisive or fickle, nor will we allow the ideas and teachings of this world to sway us. (Eph. 4:14; Jas. 1:6-8) We can also help those who may be going through difficulties. (1 Thess. 3:2, 3)

Elders should be moderate in their habits, have sound judgment, and be reasonable and orderly. By “holding fast to the faithful word,” they provide stability to the congregation (Titus 1:9; 1 Tim. 3:1-3). By setting a fine example and shepherding the publishers, they help them to be consistent in attending meetings, preaching, and personal study. And when the brothers face stressful and anxiety-inducing situations, they help them to keep Jehovah and his purposes ever-present in their minds. w24.06 31 pars. 16-18

How can we prove that we are trustworthy?

Be reliable. We all want others to know they can count on us, especially in difficult times (Prov. 17:17). How can we earn a reputation for being reliable? We can strive to imitate Jehovah’s qualities every day, for example, by keeping our promises and being punctual (Matt. 5:37). We can also offer to help those in need. Furthermore, if we are assigned a task, we should try to accomplish it by following the instructions we have received.

How does the congregation benefit when the elders are trustworthy?

Trustworthy elders benefit the congregation in many ways. For example, when an elder inspires the publishers in his preaching group to feel confident calling on him whenever they need help, he makes them feel well cared for. When elders are always ready to help their brothers and sisters, they make them feel loved. When they base their counsel on the Bible and the publications of the Faithful Slave rather than on their own opinions, they gain the trust of the brothers and sisters. And the same is true when they maintain confidentiality and keep their word.

Why do we want to praise Jehovah and draw closer and closer to him?

After analyzing Jehovah’s wonderful qualities, we feel like David, who said: “Praise Jehovah, my Rock” (Psalm 144:1). Jehovah is and always will be a God in whom we can trust. Throughout our entire life, even in old age, he will always help us to remain close to him. So we can say with confidence: “He is my Rock” (Psalm 92:14, 15).
