APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, January 26–February 1, 2026, Make Return Visits: FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Making Disciples: A Work of Love, Lesson 8, Section 4). Assignment Prepared.
Make return visits (3 mins.) HOUSE TO HOUSE. Answer a question the person asked you in a previous conversation (lmd lesson 8 point 4).
Setting: During a return visit, the publisher answers a question the person asked in a previous conversation. Throughout the conversation, the person expresses concern about why there is so much suffering in the world and whether God allows it. The publisher, using a Bible text, shows that it is unthinkable for God to act wickedly or do anything unjust, which gives the person hope and opens the opportunity to continue the conversation at another time.
Publisher: Hi, how are you? I'm glad to see you again. The last time we spoke, you had a question that was bothering you. You mentioned that you saw a lot of pain and suffering in the world and wondered why God doesn't do something about it.
Assistant: Yes, exactly. It seems to me there is so much suffering in the world, and I wonder if God is the one who allows it. I see people going through very difficult situations, like illness, poverty, and war, and I think, if God is so powerful, why doesn't He do something to end it all? Sometimes I feel like He doesn't care.
Publisher: That's a very valid question. The Bible gives us a clear answer in Job 34:10, which says: “Listen to me, you wise men: It is unthinkable that the true God would act wickedly, that the Almighty would do anything unjust!” This shows us that God is not the cause of suffering.
Assistant: That's good to know. However, I've heard it said that "not a leaf stirs without God's will." So, I don't understand why it seems like God isn't doing anything.
Publisher: Well, although some people say that, the Bible teaches us that God is a God of love and justice and that He takes no pleasure in anyone's suffering. Rather, He desires to end it, and He will soon do so through His Kingdom.
Assistant: I'm glad to hear that; it gives me a little hope. But how will it end all the suffering? What is this Kingdom you speak of?
Publisher: The Bible says that God will establish a Kingdom on Earth where there will be peace, justice, and happiness for all. In that Kingdom, there will be no more suffering, sickness, or death. It will be a perfect world, just as God originally designed it.
Assistant: That sounds amazing. I'd love to know more about that kingdom.
Publisher: How about I come back another day and we talk about it?
Assistant: Sure, that sounds good to me.
