APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: December 29, 2025 - January 4, 2026, Talk: What Are Prophecies? Lesson 14, Prepared Assignment.

Talk (5 mins.) ijwbq article 108. Title: What are prophecies? (th lesson 14).

Human beings have always been in search of truth and understanding. Since ancient times, they have been curious to know the future and better understand God's prophecies.

Throughout history, people have sought answers to life's great mysteries. The search for truth is a constant journey, and prophecies are like a beacon illuminating our path in the darkness, showing us the way to salvation and hope.

A prophecy is a message inspired by God, a divine revelation that makes known His purpose for humanity. The Bible explains that the prophets spoke on God's behalf, guided by the Holy Spirit.

LET'S READ 2 PETER 1:20, 21:

“For above all, you know that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

This text is important because it explains how the prophets received their messages from Jehovah God and the process of divine inspiration that led them to speak in God's name.

This means that the prophets did not speak on their own, but were guided by the Holy Spirit to deliver God's message. Therefore, a prophet is someone who receives a message from God and transmits it to others, acting as an intermediary between God and humanity. The prophets were ordinary people, but chosen by God to fulfill a specific purpose.

God communicated with the prophets in various ways. Sometimes, He gave them messages directly in writing, as when He gave the Ten Commandments to Moses. At other times, He used angels to deliver His messages, as when He sent instructions to Moses to convey to the Pharaoh of Egypt. He also gave them visions, which could be received while awake and conscious, as in the case of Isaiah and Habakkuk.

The Bible shows that not all prophecies predict the future. Some refer to present or past situations, such as when Jesus spoke with the Samaritan woman and revealed details of his life to her. Other prophecies are conditional, meaning they depend on people's response to God's messages.

In conclusion, the Bible teaches us that God has a purpose for humanity and that prophecies are a way of communicating that purpose to us. By studying them, we can better understand God's heart and His desire to save humanity.

Therefore, it is important that we strive to know and follow God's will and that we share this message of hope with others, so that they too can benefit from the salvation that God offers.
