Become Jehovah's friend: Jehovah forgives (15 mins.) Discussion with the audience.
Play the video. If possible, invite some children you have chosen beforehand to the platform and ask them questions about the video and what they have learned.
What was the video that Caleb's family was analyzing?
They were analyzing the account of the Last Supper, where Jesus explains to his disciples that the shepherd will be struck and the sheep of the flock scattered. Peter said, “Even if all the others fail because of you, I will never fail!” And Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you know me.”
What did Caleb say? Just like Peter?
Caleb said he would never fail Jehovah, but his father told him that, as the account shows, being loyal to Jehovah can sometimes be difficult. Even so, Peter said: “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny knowing you.”
Mention one thing that Caleb did in school.
He wanted to eat a small cake that was left over from a child's birthday party at school. The children were celebrating a birthday and eating cake, and he got a craving for some. When everyone had left and there was only one cake left, he wanted to eat it.
When his schoolmates discovered him trying to eat the birthday cake, they began questioning him, since they knew Caleb didn't participate in such festivities. When questioned about his beliefs, he couldn't answer and even denied having participated in preaching.
How did Caleb feel about what he did at school?
He felt terrible and thought Jehovah would never forgive him. But his father helped him understand that confessing our sins to Jehovah and talking to him about them is the first step to receiving his forgiveness.
What did Caleb do to show that he was sorry?
Because he understood the words his father had given him, he realized that, on the one hand, he had to talk to Jehovah about his sin or his mistake, but he also had to show that he had truly repented. So he had to gather his courage and explain birthdays to his classmates.
