Watchtower Study, Article 33, October 20-26, 2025, Know That Jehovah Loves You, Answers.

“I drew you to me with loyal love” (JER. 31:3).

1. Why did you dedicate your life to Jehovah? (See also the pictures.)

We all fondly remember the day we were baptized. It was a very special moment because it meant we came to know Jehovah well enough to love him wholeheartedly and do his will. As Mark 12:30 says, "We promised to love him with all our soul, mind, and strength."

That decision wasn't made lightly, but rather the fruit of studying, of seeing how good Jehovah is, and of feeling his love in our lives. And since then, that love has continued to grow.

If someone were to ask us today if we love Jehovah, we wouldn't hesitate for a second. We could honestly say, "Yes, we love him more than anything or anyone in this world, and that's why we continue to serve him."

Do you remember how much you loved Jehovah when you dedicated your life to him and were baptized? (See paragraph 1.)

2, 3. What does Jehovah want? (Jeremiah 31:3). What will we discuss in this article?

Jehovah not only wants us to love him, but he also wants us to be convinced that he loves each of us personally. Jeremiah 31:3 says that he “draws us with a loyal love,” and that means it’s not a superficial or fleeting affection. It’s a deep and lasting attachment, like that of a father who never abandons his child.

Sometimes we may think we don't deserve it, but Jehovah does and wants us to be clear about it. He has chosen us as his friends and wants us to live confidently in the knowledge that he loves us and that his love doesn't depend on our imperfections.

This article will teach us two very practical things. First, why is it so important to convince ourselves that Jehovah loves us? And second, what will help us strengthen that conviction day after day?

It's like a spiritual journey in which we learn to feel valuable to Jehovah and recognize that his love is not general, but personal, directed toward each of us.

WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO BELIEVE THAT JEHOVAH LOVES US

4. What is one of the most cunning traps that Satan uses, and how can we oppose him?

This paragraph opens our eyes to one of Satan's most subtle traps: he tries to make us think that Jehovah doesn't love us. When we are tired, discouraged, or burdened by painful memories, he takes advantage of those weaknesses, just as a lion seeks out the most defenseless to attack.

His intention is to stop us from serving God, believing the lie that we are worthless to him. But Ephesians 6:11 encourages us to stand firm against his schemes. How do we do this? By remembering and convincing ourselves, again and again, that Jehovah truly loves us. And as James 4:7 says, if we resist with faith and don't let those doubts take root, Satan will not be able to achieve his purpose.

5. Why is it so important to feel that Jehovah loves and values us?

Something very profound is explained here: Jehovah created us with the need to love and be loved. Therefore, when we perceive His affection and how much He values us, our hearts naturally respond by loving Him even more.

First John 4:19 makes it clear: “We love because He first loved us.” And this relationship is reciprocal, because the more we love Him, the more we feel Him drawing close to us. This proves that this isn't just a theory; rather, Jehovah's love has a real impact on our daily lives.

So feeling loved by Him is vital, not only to staying strong, but also to enjoying a close and trusting relationship with our Heavenly Father.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU BE SURE THAT JEHOVAH LOVES YOU?

6. What can you ask of Jehovah if you find it hard to believe that he loves you?

If we sometimes struggle to believe that Jehovah loves us, we can ask Him in sincere prayer, again and again. Romans 12:12 tells us to persevere in prayer, and 1 John 3:20 reminds us that He is greater than our hearts. He knows what is within us, even better than we know ourselves.

We may not see in ourselves the qualities He sees, as First Samuel 16:7 says. Therefore, opening our hearts and humbly expressing our feelings is key. Then, we must act: read, meditate, and apply what His Word teaches to become more convinced of His love each day.

7, 8. How do the Psalms help us to be convinced that Jehovah loves us?

Satan wants to sow doubt and make us think we're worthless to Jehovah, but the Psalms remind us otherwise. The Psalms are a clear example of how much Jehovah cares for us.

For example, Psalm 34:18 says that he is close to the brokenhearted. That's very encouraging, because when we're weakest, he promises to be at our side.

Also, in Psalm 56:8, David says that Jehovah treasures our tears like precious drops of water. This reflects how much it pains Him to see us suffer. And in Psalm 139:3, David acknowledges that Jehovah knows all our ways, paying special attention to the good we do.

These texts teach us that God is not indifferent, but deeply appreciates every sincere effort we make to please Him and be faithful to Him.

9. What does Jehovah promise to those who love him? (Exodus 20:6)

This paragraph reminds us of a beautiful truth. Jehovah promises to show loyal love to those who love him and strive to obey him. This means that if we love God, we will never have to doubt his love for us.

Nehemiah 1:5 confirms this: Jehovah keeps his covenant of love with those who fear him and keep his commandments. So, when doubt arises, we can ask ourselves, “Do I love Jehovah?” If the answer is yes, then we know that he loves us back and will never abandon us. This conviction strengthens our faith because we understand that Jehovah’s love never fades or changes, but endures forever.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

Jehovah promises to show loyal love to those who love him. So if we love him and strive to please him, we can be sure that he loves us too and will never abandon us.

10, 11. How does Jehovah want you to view the ransom? (Galatians 2:20)

The ransom is the greatest proof of Jehovah's love. Sometimes we see it as a gift to humanity in general, but Galatians 2:20 helps us see it personally, as Paul did. He recognized that Christ gave himself "for me."

And if Paul, despite all his past mistakes, came to see it that way, we can too. Jehovah wants us to think: “That sacrifice wasn't just for millions; it was also for me, personally.”

This way of seeing it greatly strengthens our faith, because we understand that God considers us worthy of receiving this gift. And the more we value it personally, the more convinced we will be that Jehovah loves us and never forgets us.

JESUS TAUGHT THAT JEHOVAH LOVES YOU

12. Why can we trust what Jesus said about Jehovah?

We can fully trust what Jesus taught us about his Father, because no one knows him better than he does. Colossians 1:15 says he is the “image of the invisible God” and has been with him for billions of years.

Jesus not only heard about Jehovah's love, but also experienced it firsthand, observing how he treated his creatures in heaven and on earth. Therefore, when he spoke to us about Jehovah, he did so with complete authority and truth. Luke 10:22 confirms that only the Son can reveal the Father.

So if Jesus assures us that Jehovah loves us and cares for us, we can accept it with absolute confidence, without fear or doubt.

13. How does Jesus want us to see Jehovah?

Jesus wants us to see Jehovah as a loving and close Father, not as someone distant or harsh. In the Gospels, he called him “Father” more than 160 times, and he often said “your Heavenly Father” to include us.

This was something new, because in ancient times, very solemn titles were used, such as "Almighty" or "Most High." But Jesus intentionally used a simple word: "Father." This highlights the trust and affection we should have toward Jehovah.

He wants us to see Him as the best Father possible, one who cares for us, protects us, and cares deeply about every detail of our lives, even the small things that others may overlook.

14. How did Jesus show that each of us is valuable to Jehovah? (Matthew 10:29–31; see also the image.)

In Matthew 10:29-31, Jesus used a simple but powerful comparison. He said that Jehovah knows when a mere sparrow falls to the ground. If he cares for those little birds who don't even worship him, how much more will he care for us who do serve him in love.

He also mentioned that even the hairs on our heads are numbered. This teaches us that Jehovah knows even the smallest details of our lives, reflecting a very personal care. We are not anonymous to Him, but precious children whom He watches over with tenderness.

Jesus wanted us to see clearly that each of us matters greatly to our Heavenly Father and that we are never unnoticed in His eyes.

Jesus points to a sparrow sitting on the ground while the disciples listen attentively.

If Jehovah knows when a simple sparrow falls to the ground, imagine how much he loves you, who serve him faithfully out of love. (See paragraph 14.)

15. What does John 6:44 teach you about Jehovah?

This verse teaches us that Jehovah himself drew us to himself with loyal love. Jesus said that no one can come to him unless the Father draws him. This means that our approach to God is not by chance, but rather because Jehovah saw good qualities in our hearts.

Jeremiah 31:3 also confirms that he draws us with loyal love and continues to show us that love. How wonderful it is to think that, even though we sometimes don't see our virtues, Jehovah does and continues to trust us.

So, if we are in the truth, it is because Jehovah brought us with goodness, and that is a very clear proof that he loves us and wants to keep us close to Him always.

16. a) What is Jesus teaching us, and why can we trust him?

Jesus teaches us that Jehovah is not only his Father, but also our Father. That, in itself, is a tremendous privilege. We can trust what he says because he knows Jehovah better than anyone. From eternity, he has been at his side, perfectly reflecting his personality.

Furthermore, Jesus always spoke with complete sincerity and lived what he preached. So there's no reason to doubt his testimony. If He, the beloved Son, assures us that Jehovah loves us and cares for us, we can be sure that this is so. This assurance gives us confidence, especially when we face moments of doubt or when we feel worthless.

16. b) What will help us be convinced that Jehovah is the Father we need? (See the box “The Father We All Need.”)

We will be convinced that Jehovah is the Father we need if we meditate on his qualities and how he cares for us personally. The article box highlights that he is strong, just, wise, and loving, but also close and protective. This distinguishes him from any human father, since, although some may not have had a good father figure, Jehovah never fails or abandons his children.

Remembering how he has sustained us through past trials and how he continues to give us strength today also strengthens our conviction. Every answered prayer, every timely spiritual nourishment, and every demonstration of his loyal love are clear proof that Jehovah truly is the best possible Father, the one we can always trust.

KEEP STRIVING TO BE MORE CONVINCED EVERY DAY

17. Why should we be increasingly certain that Jehovah loves us?

Jeremiah 31:3 says that he has loved us with a loyal love. And that's not just history; it's something that continues today. Jehovah draws us closer to Him through prayer, His Word, and the support of the congregation.

But it's also up to us to respond with gratitude. Just as a father rejoices when his children reciprocate his affection, Jehovah expects us to cultivate our love for Him.

We do this by reading the Bible regularly, attending meetings, and sharing Him with others. This way, we keep our relationship alive, convinced that there is nothing more secure than the love of our Heavenly Father.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT

We can be confident because he is our Father, and as a Father, he will never fail us. Jehovah remains close to us through prayer, Bible reading, and congregation. Therefore, we must be grateful and respond to him with love and obedience.

18. What can help you be more convinced that Jehovah loves you?

This study has highlighted the importance of convincing ourselves that God loves us, but faith is what helps us maintain that conviction.

Hebrews 11:1 says that faith is the assurance of things not seen. And many times we don't see God's love tangibly in the midst of trials or injustices.

However, by reviewing biblical examples and meditating on our own experience, we will learn to recognize that love more clearly.
