APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, November 3-9, 2025, Make Disciples: Lesson 18, Introduction and Points 1-3. (Teaching by Examples. Lesson 8). Prepared Assignment.
Make Disciples (5 mins.) lff lesson 18 introduction and points 1-3 (th lesson 8).
Setting: During a Bible study, the publisher and the student discuss lesson 18 of the Bible course. They review how to identify true Christians by their obedience to Jesus' teachings, their love of neighbor, and their work of preaching God's Kingdom.
Publisher: Hello, [name]. Today we're going to continue our study. We'll be looking at Lesson 18, points 1 through 3, on the topic: “How to Know Who the True Christians Are.”
The introduction states that millions and millions of people claim to be Christian, but not all share the same beliefs or have the same moral values.
So how can we know who the true Christians are? Let's start by reading paragraph 1.
Assistant: Christians are disciples or followers of Jesus Christ. How do they show that they truly follow him? Jesus said: “If you remain in my teachings, you are really my disciples.”
This means that true Christians must obey the teachings of Jesus. True Christians base their beliefs on the Bible, just as Jesus based his teachings on Scripture.
Publisher: Very well, thank you very much for your good reading. Before asking the first question, let's read Acts 11:26.
Assistant: Acts 11:26 says: “When he found him, he brought him to Antioch. And for a whole year they met with the congregation and taught a very large crowd. It was in Antioch that, by divine direction, the disciples were first called Christians.”
Publisher: Very well. Question number one is: What is a true Christian?
Assistant: Well, true Christians must obey the teachings of Jesus. True Christians base their beliefs on the Bible, just as Jesus based his teachings on the Scriptures.
Publisher: That's true. True Christians strive to follow the teachings of Jesus and live according to God's will. Now you can read paragraph 2.
Assistant: Jesus commanded his disciples: “Love one another as I have loved you.” How did Jesus show that he loved his disciples? He spent time with them, encouraged and helped them, and even gave his life for them.
Like Jesus, true Christians not only talk about love, but they demonstrate it to one another with words and deeds.
Publisher: Thank you for reading. Question number 2 is the following: How do true Christians demonstrate love?
Assistant: Well, just like Jesus, Christians not only talk about love, but they demonstrate it to one another with words and deeds.
Publisher: That's true. True Christians demonstrate love for one another in practical ways.
An example of this is when a member of the congregation learns that another brother is going through a difficult time due to a chronic illness.
The brother decides to visit him regularly, bringing him prepared meals and helping him with household chores he can't do because of his condition. He also offers to take him to his medical appointments and help him with any other needs he may have.
In this way, the brother shows love and care without expecting anything in return. You can read paragraph three.
Assistant: Jesus entrusted his disciples with a task: “He sent them out to preach the Kingdom of God.” The first Christians not only preached in their places of worship, but also went to other public places and to people’s homes.
Today, true Christians also preach biblical teachings wherever there are people. Because they love their neighbor, they gladly use their time and energy to share the message of hope and comfort that the Bible offers.
Publisher: The third question is: What is the main task of true Christians?
Assistant: Well, the main job of Christians is to preach biblical teachings wherever there are people.
Publisher: Very good. That is exactly what Jesus instructed his disciples to do, and what true Christians should continue to do today.
This concludes our study. Congratulations on your excellent preparation. I hope you prepare just as well next time. We will now conclude with a prayer.
