Let's Examine the Scriptures Every Day 2025
Tuesday, September 30, 2025
God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but when temptation comes, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Cor. 10:13).
Meditating on our promise to do Jehovah's will will give us strength to resist any temptation. For example, are we going to flirt with someone who is married? Of course not! By dedicating ourselves to Jehovah, we have already closed the door to that option. Since we did not allow evil desires to take root in our hearts from the beginning, we won't have to endure the ordeal of struggling to uproot them later. We will completely distance ourselves from "the path of the wicked." (Prov. 4:14, 15).
Jesus' example can help us. Just as he was determined to please his Father, we too will immediately and firmly reject everything we know is displeasing to the God to whom we are dedicated. (Matt. 4:10; John 8:29) In fact, trials and temptations allow us to demonstrate our determination to consistently follow Jesus. And we know that Jehovah will help us achieve this.
Why will meditating on our vow of dedication help us resist temptation?

Why will meditating on our vow of dedication help us keep spiritual activities first?
What if we're offered a job that prevents us from attending every meeting? The answer is crystal clear. Long before we were offered that job, we had already made the decision to reject it. So we won't make the mistake of accepting the job and then looking for ways to continue putting Jehovah first. Jesus' example can help us. Just as he was determined to please his Father, we too will immediately and firmly reject everything we know is displeasing to the God to whom we are dedicated. (Matt. 4:10; John 8:29)
How will Jehovah help us consistently follow Jesus after we are baptized?
In fact, trials and temptations allow us to demonstrate our determination to consistently follow Jesus. And we know that Jehovah will help us achieve this, for the Bible says: “God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when temptation comes, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” (1 Cor. 10:13).
