APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY, October 6-12, 2025, Make Disciples: Lesson 17 Introduction and Points 1-3. (Making Disciples: A Work of Love. Lesson 11 Point 3). Prepared Assignment.
Make disciples (5 mins.) lff lesson 17 introduction and points 1-3 (lmd lesson 11 point 3).
Setting: During a Bible study, the publisher and student begin lesson 17 of the book What Does the Bible Teach Us?, focusing on the qualities of Jesus Christ. Through questions, Scripture readings, and reflection, they analyze how Jesus reflects his Father, Jehovah, how he demonstrated love and obedience, and how his example can be applied in daily life.
Publisher: Well, today we're going to start lesson number 17. Are you ready?
Assistant: Yes of course.
Publisher: Okay. In this lesson, we're going to continue talking about Jesus Christ, which is why the title is What Jesus Is Like. Can you read the introduction?
Assistant: “As we learn about what Jesus did and said on earth, we discover qualities that draw us closer to him and to his Father, Jehovah. What are some of these endearing qualities? And what can we do to be like Jesus?”
Publisher: Excellent. That's what we're going to analyze now. So let's start with the first question: How is Jesus like his Father? But before you answer, let's read John 5:19.
Assistant: “Therefore Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son cannot do a single thing on his own; he only does what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does in the same way.’”
Publisher: Now you can answer: How is Jesus like his Father?
Assistant: Well, Jesus has been in close association with his loving Father for billions and billions of years. That's why he thinks, feels, and acts like Jehovah. Therefore, if we know Jesus better, we will also know Jehovah.
Publisher: Do you think that this close relationship with his Father has influenced the way Jesus makes decisions?
Assistant: Yes. Jesus always seeks to do the will of his Father.
Publisher: Excellent. And as John 14:19 says, “Whoever has seen me has also seen the Father.” In this way, Jesus resembles his Father. What do you think that means for us?
Assistant: It means that we can know God better through Jesus.
Publisher: Now we come to question two: How did Jesus show that he loves his Father?
Assistant: He demonstrated this because he was always willing to obey, even in the most difficult moments.
Publisher: Why do you think Jesus was willing to obey in that way?
Assistant: Because he loved his Father and wanted to do his will.
Publisher: Okay. Now let's move on to question three: How has Jesus shown that he loves people?
Assistant: He demonstrated this by doing everything he could to lift their spirits without expecting anything in return. The miracles he performed were not only a demonstration of his power, but also of his compassion.
Publisher: That's right. He did it because he truly loved people; it came from deep within him. As the Bible translation says, "from his very heart." Do you think we can learn something from the way Jesus showed his love for people? How might we apply that to our own lives?
Assistant: We can try to help others selflessly, without expecting anything in return, just as Jesus did.
Publisher: Exactly. And that's reflected in his willingness to suffer and die for the love of all humanity, without even expecting people to return that love in any way. Can you read Proverbs 8:31?
Assistant: Yes, it says: “I rejoiced in the earth, made for habitation, and I had a special affection for human beings.”
Publisher: So, he had a special affection for human beings. What do you think that means?
Assistant: It means that Jesus has a special love for people.
Publisher: Excellent. What do you think if we move on to page 72 to continue the study?
Assistant: Yes that's fine.
