The light of dawn will visit us from on high (Luke 1:78).

God has given Jesus the power to end all of humanity's problems. There are problems we could never solve. But Jesus, with his miracles, demonstrated that he can. For example, he has the power to eliminate the root of all of humanity's evils: inherited sin and all that it causes, such as sickness and death (Matt. 9:1-6; Rom. 5:12, 18, 19).

His miracles prove that he can heal “all kinds of diseases” and even raise the dead. (Matt. 4:23; John 11:43, 44) He also has the power to control violent windstorms and overcome evil spirits. (Mark 4:37–39; Luke 8:2) Isn’t it reassuring to know that Jehovah has given his Son such power?

We can be absolutely certain that the blessings of the Kingdom will be realized. The miracles Jesus performed as a human on Earth were a small sample of what he will accomplish on a grand scale as the heavenly King of God's Kingdom.

What motivated Jesus to perform miracles? (Matthew 20:30-34)

Jesus and his Father love us very much. While on earth, Jesus showed how much he loved people by using his power to perform miracles to relieve their suffering. On one occasion, two blind people cried out to him for help (read Matthew 20:30-34). The account says that Jesus was “deeply moved” and later restored their sight. The Greek verb translated “deeply moved” here refers to an emotion so intense and profound that it is physically felt.

That profound compassion, a reflection of the love Jesus felt, also motivated him to feed the hungry and heal a leper. (Matt. 15:32; Mark 1:41) So we are convinced that Jehovah, the God of “tender compassion,” and his Son love us very much, and they are pained to see us suffer. (Luke 1:78; 1 Pet. 5:7) They desperately want to end the problems that plague humanity.

What can we be sure of thanks to Jesus' miracles?

We can be completely confident that the blessings of the Kingdom will be realized. The miracles Jesus performed as a human on Earth were a small sample of what he will do on a grand scale as the heavenly King of God's Kingdom. Think about what life will be like soon, when Christ rules the Earth.

Because He will remove the physical problems and diseases that plague humanity, we will all have perfect health (Isa. 33:24; 35:5, 6; Rev. 21:3, 4). We will never go hungry again or suffer from natural disasters (Isa. 25:6; Mark 4:41). We will have the overwhelming joy of welcoming our loved ones back from the graves (John 5:28, 29). As you look forward to the new world, what miracle are you most looking forward to?

When Jesus performed miracles, he demonstrated two qualities we should all possess: humility and compassion. Let's look at two stories. Let's start with the one about the wedding at Cana.

Why did Jesus perform a miracle at the wedding at Cana? (John 2:6-10)

(Read John 2:6-10.) When the wine ran out at the wedding feast, was Jesus obligated to do anything? No. No prophecy said the Messiah had to miraculously produce wine. But think about how you would have felt if something like that had happened at your wedding. Jesus probably thought about the great embarrassment the family—especially the bride and groom—would feel, and out of compassion, he wanted to help them. That's why he performed the miracle mentioned at the beginning of the article. He turned about 390 liters (103 gallons) of water into the finest wine. And why such a large amount? Perhaps what was left over could be used for another occasion or even sold to help the newlyweds. How grateful they must have felt!
