Watchtower Study, We Are Never Alone, June 30-July 6, 2025, Comments and Responses.

“I will help you” (IS. 41:10).

1, 2. a) Why can we say that we are never alone in our problems?

We can say that we are never alone in our problems, because Jehovah, our heavenly Father, is always with us. He sees what we are suffering and has promised to be by our side. As He says in Isaiah 41:10, He lovingly assures us: “I will help you.”

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Because Jehovah promises it to us, and we see it here in the theme text of this Watchtower: Isaiah 41:10: ‘I will help you.’

1, 2. b) What will we see in this article?

In this article, we will look at four ways Jehovah helps us:

1. It guides us.

2. It covers our needs.

3. It protects us.

4. It comforts us.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

In this article, we'll discuss four ways Jehovah helps us. The first is that he guides us, provides for our needs, protects us, and comforts us.

We might feel as if we were completely alone in a small boat in the middle of a storm at sea, unprotected and completely alone. A very unpleasant sensation.

JEHOVAH GUIDES US

3, 4. How does Jehovah guide us? (Psalm 48:14)

Jehovah guides us through his Word, the Bible. In it, we find wise principles that help us make good decisions and develop qualities such as forgiveness, honesty, and love. Furthermore, Bible accounts show us that others also faced difficulties and, with Jehovah's help, were able to overcome them.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

A key point highlighted in this paragraph is that Jehovah not only guides us with general principles, but also offers us practical examples through biblical accounts. By studying the experiences of people like Joseph, Ruth, and the apostle Paul, we can see how they applied Jehovah's guidance in difficult situations. This encourages us to fully trust that, just as Jehovah helped them, he can also help us today.

Through the Bible, Jehovah helps us make decisions and develop qualities that allow us to be happier and have the hope of living forever. The Bible guides us from the moment we begin our study until the end of our lives.

We live in a world of total spiritual darkness. And Psalm 119:105 shows us what the Word of God is for: it is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path. In other words, it teaches us how to walk through life without stumbling.

One way the Bible guides us is through stories of real people who had problems similar to ours.

The article states that we must make decisions that honor God and that the Bible helps us achieve this. It points out that, to do so, we must not take undue liberties; we must be well informed, ask for help, seek wisdom, make the decision, get to work, evaluate the results, and make any necessary changes.

Regarding the stories in the Bible that also help us: they help us, first, because we see that we are not the only ones going through difficult situations, and that teaches us that we can endure them. Second, because we learn how they faced those problems and how we can do the same.

Through the Bible, Jehovah teaches us to forgive and not hold a grudge, to be honest in all things, and to love one another deeply from the heart.

This is supported by the Bible, with examples like Psalm 37:8, which tells us to renounce anger and not be angry; or Hebrews 13:18, which exhorts us to have a good conscience and to conduct ourselves honorably in all things. This also leads us to put into practice what First Peter 1:22 mentions, which encourages us to have sincere affection for one another. All of this demonstrates how the Bible helps us conduct ourselves well in all aspects of life.

To find stability in life, we must make good decisions by trusting in Jehovah. But how can we learn to make good decisions? By consulting the Bible and publications, which provide the necessary guidance.

Romans 15:4 explains that the Bible was written to serve as a guide. Therefore, we simply need to make an effort to read it and apply everything we learn from it.

5. Who does Jehovah use to guide us?

Jehovah guides us through our brothers, including circuit overseers, who strengthen our faith and unity with their talks; elders, who care for our spiritual well-being; parents, who teach their children to love God and make good decisions; and older sisters, who set an example and counsel for younger ones. In this way, we see that Jehovah uses our brothers to provide direction and support in our daily lives.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

One of them is the overseers who visit the congregation to encourage and strengthen the faith of the brothers.

We also have a gift from Jehovah: the elders in our congregations, who undoubtedly follow the example mentioned in 1 Peter 5:2, 3, as they carry out their work diligently, wholeheartedly, and shepherd God's flock with great care.

Titus 2:3-5 speaks of another group: the older sisters. Although they may not teach directly from the platform like the elders or overseers, Jehovah also uses them to teach younger women, so that they too may become good Christians.

There are also parents, who teach their children to have good spiritual habits and to make good decisions.

6. What should we do to benefit from Jehovah’s guidance?

To benefit from Jehovah's guidance, we must fully trust in Him and not rely solely on our own understanding. As Proverbs 3:5, 6 says, by doing so, He straightens our path, helps us avoid trouble, and guides us toward true happiness. This demonstrates our gratitude for His love and personalized guidance.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

A key point is that trusting in Jehovah is not a passive act, but a daily action. It involves actively seeking his guidance through the Bible, applying his counsel, and trusting that he knows what is best for us. When we make decisions based on his will, we experience the joy of feeling his constant support.

What we should do is what we are told in Proverbs 3:5-6: trust in Jehovah in all the decisions we make and take him into account, because then everything will be easier and we will be happier.

Trusting in Jehovah and doing so with all your heart is more than a feeling; it's a choice we make because we are fully convinced that Jehovah knows what is best for us.

Jehovah's counsel is personal counsel. He is concerned about each of us and will seek ways to counsel us personally. He may use another brother or sister, a portion of the meeting, or something we find in the Bible or a publication, but He is always concerned about each of us and counsels us personally.

All this proves that we have a special guide, Jehovah, and that we are not alone. We have the best company: Jehovah, who guides us.

A great guide Jehovah gives us is the help of a faithful and prudent slave. We can trust them because we have seen that all their instructions are based on what the Bible says, and they seek guidance from Jehovah and Jesus before passing them on to us.

There's also talk about circuit overseers and elders, who receive instructions that help us make good decisions. For example, during the COVID pandemic, we followed those instructions, and that was for our protection.

It is said that both the anointed elders and, by extension, all elders are at the right hand of Christ. Hence, we have more than enough reason to trust the brothers who are leading the way.

JEHOVAH COVERS OUR NEEDS

7. How does Jehovah help us according to Philippians 4:19?

Jehovah helps us by meeting our needs, just as Philippians 4:19 says: “God will supply all your needs according to his glorious riches.” He blesses us by giving us the essentials, such as food, clothing, and a place to live, as long as we seek his Kingdom first. Although it is natural to worry about our physical needs, Jehovah assures us that we should not be anxious, because he will never abandon his faithful servants.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

An important point here is that Jehovah cares not only for our spiritual well-being, but also for our daily needs. This reflects his practical love and constant care. By trusting in him and making him a priority, we experience how he fulfills his promise to provide for our needs.

Jehovah blesses our efforts, which means we have a part to play in getting Jehovah to bless us. It is also mentioned that it is natural for us to worry, but not to be distressed. There is a big difference between worrying and taking action to get Jehovah to bless our efforts.

The Greek term "anxiety" refers to worry that divides a person's attention. It is also said to distract them and rob them of happiness. So Jehovah doesn't want us to be divided or to lose our happiness. That's why He tells us not to be anxious, because He will provide for all our needs.

8. How did Jehovah help David?

Jehovah helped David as he fled from King Saul, providing everything he and his men needed to survive during those difficult years. David acknowledged this provision when he wrote in Psalm 37:25 that he never saw a righteous man abandoned or his children seeking bread, showing that Jehovah lovingly met his needs.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Jehovah gave David and his men everything they needed to survive.

Through the Bible, we can also reflect on its stories and realize that we are not alone. David, perhaps during a dark time in his life, found himself in that situation. But over the years, he recognized that no servant had been abandoned by Jehovah's hand.

In Psalm 34:10, David acknowledged that young, strong lions may be hungry, but he said, "Those who seek the Lord will lack nothing good," because he had experienced it himself. And surely we have too: that Jehovah provides for our physical and spiritual needs.

9. How does Jehovah provide for the needs of his people today when disasters strike? (See also the pictures.)

Jehovah today meets the needs of his people during disasters by inspiring the generosity and organization of other members of the congregation. For example, they send supplies such as food, water, clothing, and medicine to affected areas; they help repair damaged homes and Kingdom Halls; and they provide emotional and spiritual support to those who have suffered losses.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

When a disaster strikes, Jehovah, out of love, moves all brothers and sisters to help immediately. In the disaster area, basic supplies are quickly brought in: clothing, food, water, and medicine. In addition, other brothers and sisters are responsible for repairing the affected homes and Kingdom Halls. Above all, preparations are immediately made to emotionally and spiritually support the most affected brothers and sisters.

Romans 15 mentions that when the brothers from Macedonia and Achaia heard that the brothers in Jerusalem were in need, they gladly shared their belongings. This is the precedent we also follow today.

The image shows how, after a flood, the brothers are meeting a material, emotional, and spiritual need. A brother is seen, likely there, offering a few words, reading a passage from the Bible to comfort those affected and give them the confidence they need in such difficult times.

Based on the image, how much must this encourage the brothers in a country like Malawi? Based on the image's description, it appears these floods occurred there. The effort these brothers make, traveling thousands of miles to provide material, emotional, and spiritual support, especially to the brothers, is admirable. The organization undoubtedly makes great efforts in times of disaster.

We see how Jehovah provides help not only in a spiritual sense, but also in a material sense to those brothers who have been affected by a natural disaster.

Our website mentions that during the 2022 service year, our organization provided relief efforts to help victims of approximately 200 disasters, with a total of nearly $12 million allocated. Also, in the 2023 service year, there were more than 200 natural disasters, for which $10 million was allocated. This does not include the money many brothers paid out of their own pockets to support those in need.

In the image, we also notice that there are brothers with bicycles, which may indicate that they are perhaps taking food to other brothers who cannot get close to the place where it is being distributed.

ILLUSTRATION

Images of brothers and sisters in Malawi receiving material and spiritual aid after a natural disaster. 1. A major flood. 2. Brother Gage Fleegle speaking with brothers and sisters. 3. Some brothers unloading bags of food from a vehicle.

How does Jehovah comfort us when disasters occur? (See paragraph 9.)

10, 11. What does Boris's case teach you?

Boris's case teaches us that by showing love and selfless help to people who do not share our beliefs, we can bear a good witness about Jehovah. Although Boris was not a Witness, the brothers helped him during the war, which led him to feel gratitude and attend the Memorial. This shows how imitating Jehovah's mercy can motivate others to want to know and serve him.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

A key point is that our actions speak louder than words. By helping Boris, the brothers reflected Jehovah's love in practical ways, touching his heart. This account encourages us to look for opportunities to do good to all, trusting that our actions can open doors for others to come to know Jehovah.

Boris's experience shows that when the war broke out in Ukraine, he was a teacher and had students who were Jehovah's Witnesses. Because of the kindness he gave them, when he wanted to leave the country, those same brothers made an effort to help him flee.

Boris's experience teaches us that, as Luke 6:36 says, just as Jehovah is merciful, we too can imitate that mercy. Furthermore, as Luke 6:31 mentions, "Do to others as you would have them do to you." Putting these principles into practice allows many people to see love, and that motivates them to want to learn more about Jehovah.

Jehovah is very generous, because He not only provides for the needs of His servants, but also gives everyone everything they need. If we imitate this quality, we would be applying what Galatians 6 says: "As we have opportunity, let us do good to all, but especially to our fellow believers." So, if we act this way when we see someone in need—even if they are not our brother or sister—it is a very beautiful thing, because we are imitating Jehovah.

Acts 20:35 says there is more happiness in giving than in receiving, so we will always feel good when we do good to others.

What Jehovah does is bless efforts; he doesn't perform miracles. Therefore, we must give him something that can bless. We also see how he does this through the organization and the brothers, to give us all what we need and show us that we are not alone.

JEHOVAH PROTECTS US

12. What has Jehovah promised to do for his people as a whole? (Psalm 91:1, 2, 14)

Jehovah has promised to protect his people spiritually, as stated in Psalm 91:1, 2, 14. He will never allow Satan to corrupt pure worship, and we are confident that he will fulfill his promise to protect his people both spiritually and physically during the great tribulation.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

He has promised to protect his people, both spiritually and physically.

Furthermore, Jehovah will not allow pure worship to be corrupted. Therefore, in the future, when the great tribulation comes, Jehovah will protect his people.

What Jehovah promised is a spiritual protection, a symbolic refuge that offers us spiritual security. It is a secret place, because those who do not trust in Jehovah do not know it.

We know that, as soon as the great tribulation begins, Jehovah will also protect us physically.

The protection Jehovah promises is guaranteed, because Revelation 7:14 speaks of a group—the great crowd—coming out of the great tribulation. And, knowing what will happen at Armageddon, it's clear that Jehovah must protect them physically.

13. In what ways does Jehovah protect each of his servants?

Jehovah protects each of his servants in various ways. On the one hand, he has given us the Bible to help us distinguish between good and evil, which acts as a shield that protects us physically and spiritually. On the other hand, he protects us through the congregation, by surrounding us with brothers who love and obey Jehovah, who encourage and strengthen us to reject evil influences.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

In two ways. One is through the Bible, His Word, which helps us distinguish between right and wrong. Furthermore, as Psalm 91:4 reflects, applying biblical principles is like using a shield. The capacity for discernment spoken of in Hebrews 5:14 protects us.

Another way Jehovah protects us is through the congregation. As Proverbs 13:20 says, "He who walks with wise men will become wise."

Isaiah 32:1, 2 draws comparisons we can all relate to: seeing our brothers and sisters as a refuge from the wind, from the storm, like streams of water in a dry land, or like a shadow in a parched land.

In a practical sense, in the congregation we can see many brothers who, simply by their example, their trajectory, their role model, are already perceptive, and imitating them will be very positive for all of us.

Hebrews 5:14 also describes the first of these aids—the Bible—as solid food. By chewing and digesting it, we develop our capacity for discernment, which will undoubtedly help us always make the best decisions.

Daniel 5:12 describes Daniel as being able to solve complicated problems, or "untie knots," thanks to his knowledge and study of the principles he had learned in God's Word. This gives us confidence that if we study and meditate on Jehovah's way of thinking, it will also be a protection for us. It will help us solve problems and untie knots, thanks to Jehovah.

14. (a) Why doesn’t Jehovah always remove our trials?

Jehovah doesn't always remove our trials, because he allows us to face difficulties to prove Satan a liar. Although he sometimes allows his servants to suffer persecution or even death, this has a purpose: to refute Satan's accusations and show that humans can remain loyal to God under any circumstances.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Satan's accusation is mentioned in Job 2:4-6. He accused us all of serving Jehovah out of selfishness, because things are going well for us. Of course, the way to prove this wrong is to be faithful when we face problems. That's why Jehovah doesn't always remove our difficulties.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 shows that unexpected events happen to everyone. So, how important it is that, before any problem arises, we prepare! If we have the habit of worshipping Jehovah, serving him, and striving to reflect his qualities as a way of life, when the unexpected event comes, it won't take us by surprise. We will be prepared to know how to act.

14. b) What does Psalm 9:10 assure us? (See also the note.)

Psalm 9:10 assures us that Jehovah will never abandon those who love him. Even when we face trials or suffering, we can fully trust that he will always be with us and fulfill his promise of unwavering support.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

When trials come our way, we can be completely confident that if we trust Jehovah completely, he will never allow them to be more than we can bear. He will always provide a way out so we can endure them.

The note refers us to a Watchtower that explains why Jehovah doesn't always remove our trials. In addition to the two reasons mentioned in the paragraph, it also says that He has given us freedom of choice. That is, He wants us to choose the path we follow. Therefore, if He were to choose the trials we face, He would be limiting that freedom of choice. Also, quoting the words of 1 Corinthians 10:13, it mentions that God is faithful, and therefore we are confident that He will not allow any trial to be so intense that we cannot bear it, but will provide a way out.

Regarding Paul's words, "God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear," it is explained that Paul is not speaking of what Jehovah does before trials, but rather what He does during them. So Jehovah does not select our trials, but He guarantees that He will give us the strength to endure them.

At this time, Jehovah protects us spiritually, but we know that in the future he will do so physically during the great tribulation.

JEHOVAH COMFORT US

15. How does Jehovah comfort us through prayer, his Word, and our brothers and sisters? (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4)

Jehovah comforts us through prayer, giving us “the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding.” Through the Bible, we see his great love, receive wise counsel, and find comfort in the hope he offers. Furthermore, in meetings and with our fellow believers, we experience his comfort through his loving kindness and words of encouragement based on God’s Word.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

An important detail is that Jehovah does not leave us alone when we face difficult times. He uses these means to strengthen our hearts and help us cope with distress. By taking advantage of prayer, studying the Bible, and participating in meetings, we can tangibly feel his support and comfort.

Through prayer, we feel that comfort not only because we can talk to Him as a friend and unburden ourselves, but also because we feel the answer to that prayer. As Philippians 4:6, 7 says, we see the peace that Jehovah gives us, that feeling of calm that only He can give, which keeps our minds and hearts protected and at peace.

When we read the Bible, we see that Jehovah has left us in his Word many ways in which he loves us, how he continues to show it to us, and how he gives us advice to continue forward. Reading these accounts helps us, when we go through moments of weakness, fear, sadness, pain, or anxiety, to find comfort thanks to this hope.

Another way is through our brothers and sisters, because we receive love and advice based on the Bible. Furthermore, many brothers and sisters have had experiences with similar problems, so they are more empathetic and can strengthen us even more, sometimes just by listening to us and, as mentioned in other posts, also with a healing hug.

16. What does the case of Nathan and Priscilla teach you?

The story of Nathan and Priscilla teaches us that even when we face unexpected problems and things don't go as expected, Jehovah never abandons us. Despite the financial and health difficulties they faced, reading the Bible gave them comfort and encouragement, feeling that Jehovah was speaking to them as a friend. They learned to focus not on the problem, but on how Jehovah was helping them endure it, which better prepared them for future trials.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

This story highlights the power of God's Word to comfort us in the midst of difficulties. Even though circumstances may cause us to doubt or question, the Bible always reminds us that Jehovah is with us and strengthens us.

Nathan and Priscilla decided to move to serve in a place of need, but upon arriving, they encountered both health and financial problems, problems so great that they decided to leave that assignment and return to where they were living. However, those problems didn't end; they continued there. They became discouraged because they wondered if perhaps they had done something wrong. But through study and meditation, they attuned themselves to Jehovah and became rightly focused.

We can learn not to focus so much on the problems, but rather on how Jehovah helps us, and then we can move forward despite the difficulties.

This family was a little upset because they expected that by making sacrifices, Jehovah would bless them, but that wasn't what happened. However, as we've seen in the previous paragraphs, Jehovah doesn't select which trials we will endure. Rather, we see His support when we are already in the midst of the trial: how He gives us peace of mind, the wisdom to overcome it, and how He never lets go. So, when they truly understood that point, it allowed them to be at peace with Jehovah and feel good and supported by Him.

17. How did a sister named Helga receive comfort? (See also the pictures.)

Helga received comfort through the congregation, as 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 assures us. Despite decades of problems that left her feeling depressed and without self-worth, Jehovah always kept his promise to comfort her. Many times, her brothers strengthened her with kind, loving, and thoughtful words, sending messages, cards, or praise just when she needed them most. This helped her cope with difficult situations.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

This example highlights how Jehovah uses our brothers and sisters to provide comfort in times of great need. It reminds us of the importance of being observant and showing practical love to those around us, as a small gesture of kindness can mean a lot to someone who is struggling.

It seems she's been struggling with significant problems for several decades, and at times, she felt alone and lost—completely normal feelings. But reflecting on those past 30 years, she says she's received help through the kind, caring, and thoughtful words of the brothers.

As we see in the image, a call, a text, or a loving note gave Helga the strength to carry on. The problem persisted, but her siblings supported her.

In the image, you can see different siblings encouraging and supporting this aging brother in different ways: children with drawings, others with a phone call, or with food. These are small things, but they mean a lot to this brother.

One idea mentioned in a talk emphasized the importance of not thinking of certain gestures as unnecessary details or things that will go unnoticed. He said that, unlike this world, which emphasizes that only blood kinship is important, Jehovah gives us a spiritual family that is also very valuable.

We should consider our siblings as part of our family and look for small ways to encourage and help them. A kind word can also go a long way in putting them first and making an effort to show our love.

ILLUSTRATION

Picture series: An older brother receives comfort. 1. He looks at the drawings some children have made for him. 2. A brother sends him a text message. 3. A couple brings him a bag of food and a pizza. 4. A brother calls him on the phone. 5. A girl draws him a picture of a lion in Paradise.

How can Jehovah use you to comfort others? (See paragraph 17.)

18. How can we comfort others?

We can comfort by listening patiently, offering words of encouragement based on the Bible, and providing practical help. This applies to both our brothers and sisters and those who do not serve Jehovah, visiting and encouraging them in times of difficulty, illness, or loss. In this way, we help our brothers endure their trials and can motivate others to come to know Jehovah.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

A key point here is that comfort doesn't always require grand actions, but rather small, sincere gestures. Listening attentively or sharing a timely Bible passage can make a huge difference in someone's life.

We want to be tools in Jehovah's hands to comfort others, and we may need to dedicate our time to them, listen patiently, offer words of encouragement, and also help them in practical ways. Proverbs tells us not to neglect doing good if it is within our power to help them.

According to Matthew 5:16, even people who do not yet serve Jehovah can be touched by our good works, so that they will reach their hearts and be motivated to serve Him as well.

JEHOVAH WILL ALWAYS BE BY OUR SIDE

19. What does Jehovah do for us, and how can we imitate him?

Jehovah cares deeply for us and never abandons us in difficult times. He guides us, meets our needs, protects us, and comforts us, just as a good father cares for his child. We can imitate him by supporting and encouraging others who face trials, showing the same love and compassion he shows us.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

He loves us so much that he cares for us, giving us guidance, meeting our needs, protecting us, and comforting us. So we can do nothing but, as a sign of our gratitude, imitate him and do the same for others.

WHAT WOULD YOU ANSWER?

How does Jehovah guide us?

Jehovah guides us primarily through his Word, the Bible, which teaches us how to make wise decisions and cultivate spiritual qualities. He also guides us through Bible stories that help us face problems similar to those of people in the past. He also uses our brothers—such as circuit overseers, elders, parents, and mature sisters—to provide us with practical direction and uplifting counsel.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

We have highlighted two means: one is the Bible, which helps us make good decisions, and the other is our brothers and sisters, who provide us with spiritual support and comfort.

How does it cover our needs?

Jehovah provides for our needs by blessing our efforts to obtain food, clothing, and shelter as we seek first his Kingdom. In times of disaster or crisis, he uses the congregation to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

He gives us enough to survive. He also blesses our efforts and uses our brothers and sisters.

How does it protect and comfort us?

Jehovah protects us by giving us the Bible, which acts as a shield to defend us spiritually and physically, and through the congregation, which surrounds us with people who love and obey God.

He comforts us through prayer, responding to us with his peace; through his Word, which offers us encouragement and hope; and through our brothers and sisters, who offer us words of encouragement and practical support in difficult times.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

He has given us the Bible to help us distinguish between right and wrong. By applying its principles, we receive help through the congregation, and we are comforted through prayer.
