“They lived for 40 days, and fell into the Kingdom of God” (ATOS 1:3).

1, 2. What happened while two disciples of Jesus were on the road to Emmaus?

On the 16th of June in the year 33, the disciples of Jesus felt discouraged and paralyzed. Two of them leave Jerusalem for Emmaus, a city about 11 kilometers (7 miles) away. They are terribly discouraged because Jesus, or the man they followed, has just been executed. All his hopes about what Messias would do seem to have been crushed with him. But we do not see what is about to happen.

2 A stranger approaches them and begins to walk with them. The disciples tell him how they are sad and disappointed with everything or what happened to Jesus. Then there is a conversation that would change their lives. “Starting with Moses and all the Prophets”, this strange explanation is why Messias has to suffer and die. When you three go to Emmaus, the disciples realize that this man is truly the resurrected Jesus. They will certainly feel immense joy knowing that Messiah was alive (Luke 24:13-35).

3, 4. a) What happened to the disciples of Jesus? (Athos 1:3). b) Or what will we see in this article?

3 Jesus appeared to his disciples many times during the last 40 days while he was on Earth (read Athos 1:3). They are encouraged and, as a result, they are left to be sad and sad, and to gain joy, confidence and courage to preach and teach the message of the Kingdom. for

4 We can benefit from studying about this exciting period of Jesus on Earth.  b).  In this article, we will see that you use this time to 1) encourage your disciples, 2) help them better understand the Scriptures, and 3) train them to assume greater responsibilities. In each case we will also see how to imitate Jesus.

HOW TO ENCOURAGE OTHERS

5. Why do disciples of Jesus need encouragement?

5 The disciples of Jesus need encouragement. Because? Because some leave their homes, their families and their businesses to follow Jesus in their entirety (Matthew 19:27). Others marginalized by society eventually became disciples (João 9:22). They were willing to make these sacrifices because they proved that Jesus was the promised Messiah (Matthew 16:16). But when Jesus was executed, his hopes were frustrated and he became like a broken heart.

6. Or that Jesus was after resurrection?

6 Jesus understood that it was normal for the disciples to be sad with his death. He knew that these feelings were not because he lacked faith. That's why he started to encourage his friends the same day he resurrected. He appeared to Maria Madalena while she was singing in her tomb (João 20:11, 16). He appeared to the two disciples when we met at the beginning of this article. And he also appears to the apostle Peter (Luke 24:34). What lessons do we draw from the example of Jesus? Let's analyze what happened when he appeared to Maria Madalena.

7. Or that Jesus saw Mary do what he did for her? (João 20:11-16; veja também imagem).

7 (Leia João 20:11-16). On the 16th of Nisã, a group of faithful women went to the tomb of Jesus (Luke 24:1, 10). One of them was Maria Madalena. When I looked at the grave, I saw that it was empty, so I ran to tell Pedro and João.They both ran to the tomb, and Mary followed them. Peter and John saw that the tomb was indeed empty and went back to their homes. But Mary did not. She stood there, crying. Although she did not know it, Jesus was watching her. When he saw the tears of this faithful woman, he was deeply touched. Then he appeared to her and did a simple thing that encouraged her greatly. He spoke to her and gave her an important job: to tell her brothers and sisters that he had risen from the dead. (John 20:17, 18)

8. How can we imitate Jesus?

8 How can we imitate Jesus? By encouraging our brothers and sisters to continue serving Jehovah. To do this, we need to be aware of the difficulties they are going through, show empathy, and speak to them with kindness. Consider what happened to a sister named Jocelyn, who lost her sister in a tragic accident. She says: “For many months I felt deeply sad.” A couple invited her to their home, listened to her with empathy, and reminded her that she was very valuable to Jehovah. She says: “Until then I felt desperate, as if I were drowning in the sea in the middle of a storm. But Jehovah used these brothers to rescue me and put me on a lifeboat. They helped me regain the desire to continue serving him.” If we want to encourage others, let them vent to us and listen carefully, so that we can comfort and strengthen them to continue serving Jehovah. —Rom. 12:15.

HOW TO HELP OTHERS UNDERSTAND WRITINGS BETTER

9. Or that you were missing some disciples, and how did Jesus help you?

9 Jesus’ disciples believed God’s Word and tried to put it into practice. (John 17:6) But they were confused and did not understand why Jesus had died like a criminal. Jesus knew that his disciples had good hearts, but he realized that they lacked a deeper understanding of the Scriptures. (Luke 9:44, 45; John 20:9) So he helped them understand the meaning of what they read. Consider what Jesus did when he appeared to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus.

10. How did Jesus convince his disciples that he was really Messiah? (Luke 24:18-27).

10 (Read Luke 24:18–27.) Jesus didn’t immediately tell the two men who He really was. Instead, He asked them questions. Why? Perhaps He wanted to give them a chance to share their thoughts and feelings with Him. And so they did. They told Him that they were hoping that Jesus would free Israel from the Romans. After they told Him their concerns, He used Scripture to help them understand that many prophecies had been fulfilled. Later that evening, Jesus met with the other disciples and explained the meaning of these prophecies to them as well . (Luke 24:33–48.) What do we learn?

11, 12. a) What lessons do we learn from the way Jesus used the Scriptures? (See also images). b) How did your  Bible teacher serve Nortey?

11 How can we imitate Jesus? When we are teaching a student about the Bible, let us ask him thoughtful questions that will bring out his thoughts and feelings (Prov. 20:5). Once we understand his feelings, let us teach him to find Bible texts that will help him in his situation. Let us resist the impulse to tell him what to do. It is better to ask him more questions about the scriptures so that he can think about how to apply them in his life. Consider the case of a brother from Ghana named Nortey.

12 When Nortey was 16, he began studying the Bible. Soon afterward, his family turned against him. What helped him keep going? His Bible teacher had used Matthew chapter 10 to explain to him that true Christians would be persecuted. Nortey says, “When my family’s opposition began, I realized that I had found the truth.” His teacher also showed him Matthew 10:16, which says that we should be cautious, and helped him think about how to demonstrate this quality when explaining his beliefs to his family members. After he was baptized, Nortey wanted to become a pioneer, but his father expected him to go to college. His teacher didn’t tell him what to do, but asked him questions and helped him reason using biblical principles. What was the result? Nortey became a regular pioneer and was kicked out of the house by his father. He shares his thoughts on what happened: “I am convinced that I made the right decision.” When we help others better understand the Scriptures, we can help them become mature Christians (Eph. 3:16-19).

HOW TO TRAIN IRMÃOS SO THAT IT BECOME LIKE A PRESENT

13. Or what did Jesus do to ensure that the prayer continued after he turned to him? (Ephesians 4:8).

13 While on earth, Jesus did a great job of doing the work his Father had given him to do. (John 17:4) But he never thought, “If I want something done right, I have to do it myself.” During his three-and-a-half-year ministry, he trained others. Jesus trusted his disciples. So he gave them the responsibility of preaching and teaching the good news and caring for Jehovah’s precious sheep —even though some of his disciples were not even 30 years old. (Read Ephesians 4:8.) These loyal men had worked side by side with Jesus. Yet before he went to heaven, Jesus trained them even more so that they could be like a gift. Let’s see how he did it.

14. How did Jesus help his disciples grow spiritually during the last 40 days while he was on Earth? (See also the image).

14 Jesus gave his disciples direct advice, but he did so in a loving way. For example, he saw that some of them had trouble believing that he had been resurrected, so he told them to stop doubting (Luke 24:25–27; John 20:27). He advised them to focus on helping God’s servants, not on making money (John 21:15). He reminded them not to look at the responsibilities others received (John 21:20–22). And because he saw that they had wrong ideas about the kingdom, he corrected them and helped them prioritize preaching (Acts 1:6–8). What can elders learn from Jesus?

ILLUSTRATION

Jesus speaks to his disciples in the open sea while some Assamese fish are on the grill. Let's imitate Jesus by helping you take care of more responsibilities. (See paragraph 14).

15, 16. a) In what ways can we elders imitate Jesus? b) How do you advise your help Patrick?

15 How can elders imitate Jesus? By training and helping brothers, including younger ones, to take on more responsibility.  Elders do not expect brothers to be perfect. Rather, they lovingly counsel younger ones so that they gain experience and learn to be humble, trustworthy, and caring toward others. —1 Tim. 3:1; 2 Tim. 2:2; 1 Pet. 5:5.

16 Consider the case of a brother named b) Patrick . As a young man, he was very unkind to others , even the sisters, and he spoke harshly to them.  A mature elder noticed this and gave him frank, kind advice. Patrick says, “I am grateful that he did this. I felt so bad when I saw other brothers being given responsibilities that I wanted. What the elder said helped me focus on humbly serving the brothers, not on gaining responsibilities in the congregation.” As a result, Patrick was appointed an elder when he was 23. (Prov. 27:9)

17. How did Jesus show that he trusted his disciples?

17 Jesus gave his disciples not only the responsibility to preach but also to teach (see study note “Teach Them” on Matthew 28:20). They may not have thought they could handle the job. But Jesus was confident that they could, and he wanted them to know it. That’s why he said to them, “Just as the Father has sent me, so I am sending you” (John 20:21).

18. How can we elders imitate Jesus?

18 How can elders imitate Jesus? Experienced elders know to delegate and teach others how to take responsibility (Phil. 2:19–22). For example, they can ask young people to help with cleaning and maintenance at the Kingdom Hall. They show that they trust the person to whom they delegate a task by training him and expecting him to do a good job. A newly appointed elder named Matthew appreciates that experienced elders teach him how to handle different tasks in the congregation and trust him to do them well. He explains, “It helps me that they see my mistakes as part of the learning process and then teach me how to do better next time.”

19. What decision should we make?

19 Jesus used the last 40 days of his time on earth to encourage, teach, and train others. Let us resolve to follow in his footsteps faithfully. (1 Pet. 2:21) He will help us do so, for ultimately he promised, “I will be with you always, until the end of the system.”—Matt. 28:20.

HOW JESUS APPROVEITOU THE LAST 40 DAYS THAT THIS WAS NA TERRA TO FAZE OR NEXT?

Encourage others.

Jesus began to encourage his friends the same day he resurrected. He appeared to Maria Madalena as she appeared to the two disciples that we believe did not begin this article. And he also appears to the apostle Peter.

Help others better understand what the Scriptures say.

Jesus knew that the disciples were confused and did not understand why he had died as a criminal. He knew that his disciples had a good heart, but he realized that they needed to understand the scriptures better. That's why it helped you understand the meaning of what it meant.

Train your men to assume greater responsibilities.

Jesus gives direct advice to his disciples, but love with love. For example, he saw that some had difficulty proving that he had been resurrected, so we said to stop doubting.

He advises you to concentrate on helping God's servants and not on getting money. They remind us that we should not concentrate on the responsibilities that others receive.
