APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: September 23-29, 2024, Make return visits, HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Making disciples: a labor of love, Lesson 9, Prepared Assignment.
Make return visits (4 mins.) FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. Ask the person if he or she can show you what our Bible courses are like (th lesson 9).
You: Hello, good morning, I'm glad to see you at home.
Person: Good morning, come in and sit down.
You; Thank you today as we mentioned before we are going to talk to people about what we need to be happy.
Person: Well, I think we should know how to deal with problems.
You; What you say is true, that is why we appreciate the good advice to get out of problems.
Person: But I think we need to make sure it's good advice, so we can be successful.
You: Today we are talking with our neighbors about how the Bible can help us in our daily lives. One thing I really like is that our Bible courses are interactive and visual. Would you like me to quickly show you what these courses are like?Person: “So, what’s it about?”
You: “It’s a practical course, where we use visual aids like pictures and videos to make the main ideas easier to understand. Look, for example, at this image that appears in one of our publications.” (You show him a picture of a happy family or a peaceful landscape from one of the magazines or the Bible study book.) “What does this image convey to you? What do you feel when you see it?”
Person: “She looks pretty calm, like everything is at peace.”
You: “Exactly. That sense of peace is something the Bible promises for the future. Now, I ask you another question: do you think it is possible to achieve such a world in our present lifetime?”
Person: “I’m not sure, but it sounds good.”
You: “It’s a promise that the Bible explains in detail. Now, if you’ll allow me, I can show you a short video that explains it very well.” (You show him a short video, like the one on “Why Study the Bible?”)
(After the video)
You: “What did you think of the video? I think it does a good job of explaining how the Bible can help us find answers and live a more peaceful and purposeful life.”
Person: “Yes, it’s interesting.”
You: “If you’d like, we could continue with a course like the one we mentioned in the video, where we slowly explore those promises and how they relate to us today. The course is completely free and you can take it at your own pace. Would you be interested in learning more about it?”
