Start conversations (3 mins.) PUBLIC PREACHING. Offer a Bible course to a person who has no Christian background (lmd lesson 5 point 5).
You: «Hello, good morning.
Person: What is this advertisement about?
You: We're here to do a quick survey on what people think about important topics, like the purpose of life. Have you ever thought about what the purpose of life is?
Person: “Well, I don’t really have any religious beliefs, but I do believe that it’s important to be a good person and help others.”
You: “I think that’s great, what a great attitude! The truth is that few people stop to think about that, and you are right when you say that being a good person and helping is essential. In fact, I also believe that we all want to live with a sense of purpose and do things that are worthwhile.”
Person: “Yes, I think everyone finds their own way.”
You: “Exactly. In fact, although not everyone has a religious background, I have found that the Bible offers very useful principles that can help us find that purpose and become better people. I don’t know if I had ever considered it, but many of its teachings are practical for everyday life.”Person: “Well, I haven’t read the Bible much, but I do think there are interesting things in some religious books.”
You: “That’s true, and that’s what’s interesting. The Bible has a lot of wisdom that can be applied to many different aspects of life, regardless of your prior beliefs. In fact, we offer a free course where you can explore some of these topics easily and at your own pace. Would you like me to show you how it works?”
Person: “Well, I could see that. What exactly is it about?”
You: “It’s an interactive course that adapts to what interests you most. We can talk about things like the purpose of life, how to manage stress, or even topics like happiness. And the best thing is that there’s no commitment; it’s just an opportunity to discover new ideas and reflect on them.”
