APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: August 26-September 1, 2024, Start conversations: INFORMAL PREACHING. (Making disciples: a labor of love, Lesson 2 point 4). Prepared Assignment.
Start conversations (4 mins.) INFORMAL PREACHING. Without talking about the Bible, find a natural way to let the person know that you are Jehovah's Witness. Offer a Bible course (lmd lesson 2 point 4).
Situation: Imagine that you are in a cafeteria waiting for your coffee. You notice that the person next to you is also waiting.
Helper: It seems like there are a lot of people here today.
Publisher: Yes, it seems like it's one of those days. But at least we have a moment to relax before the day starts, right?
Assistant: Exactly. I need this coffee to get going.
Publisher: I see it that way too. Life can be very busy, so it's always good to find some time for yourself. By the way, my name is [your name]. I like to take advantage of these small moments to reflect and think about positive things. I am a Jehovah's Witness, and that helps me a lot to maintain a positive outlook.
Assistant: Ah, I see! It's interesting. I have never met a Jehovah's Witness in person.
Publisher: Yes, we tend to be quite active, especially in the community, because we like to share messages of hope. But we are not always in “preaching” mode. Sometimes, like today, I just enjoy a good conversation. Are you ever interested in thinking about spiritual issues or how to stay positive?
Assistant: I do it from time to time, but I'm not very religious.
Publisher: That's understandable. Sometimes spiritual can be more about finding peace and purpose in life. If you are ever interested, we offer a free Bible course that is very practical and tailored to whatever concerns or interests you most. It's nothing formal, just a chat where you can ask questions and explore topics at your own pace.
Assistant: That sounds interesting. I might consider it.
Publisher: I'm glad you think so. There is no pressure. If one day you are curious or would like to know more, I will be happy to share it with you. Enjoy your coffee!
