“How will I repay Jehovah for all the good he has done to me?” (PSA. 116:12).
1, 2. What must be done before being baptized?
The first step is to study his word and when one has already decided to be baptized, the dedication to Jehovah is a direct conversation with the creator.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Well, we all have to dedicate ourselves to Jehovah and in the study of this article we will see what dedication is and why we should not be afraid to dedicate ourselves and be baptized if one is already ready to do so.
It could also happen that we were ready to be baptized and we were afraid, so this article will explain to us that we should not be afraid because it explains that Jehovah is with us.
Millions of people around the world want to know God and get closer to him. To achieve this they must learn the truth of the Bible. But, when they consider that they are ready for baptism, they must take a previous step: Dedication to Jehovah. Hence the importance of this article, because it explains what dedication is and why the person should not be afraid to dedicate themselves and be baptized if they are already ready to do so.
Yes, before being baptized, you must know the basic truths of the Bible, have exact knowledge and thus come to love Jehovah and his beautiful qualities, then dedicate yourself to him wholeheartedly, get baptized and feel the desire to do his will.
WHAT IS DEDICATION?
3. Name some people who were dedicated to God in biblical times.
In the case of Aaron we can say that he was separated for the service of Jehovah because he was a high priest and Leviticus 8:9 says that on the front of his turban he wore a written plate made of gold that said the holy sign of dedication.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Being dedicated means being prepared for the service of God. Although Israel was a nation dedicated to Jehovah. Some Israelites were dedicated in a very special way. For example, Aaron, was chosen by Jehovah to be the high priest and wore a shiny gold plate as a Holy sign of dedication. The Nazarites were also set apart for a special service to Jehovah so they followed specific rules established in the Mosaic law.
Yes, for example, Aaron was chosen by Jehovah to be a high priest and on the front of his turban he had a special shiny gold plate that he said was the holy sign of dedication.
Then there were also the Nazarites who were chosen especially for a job that Jehovah separated them from and these Nazarites the word Nazarites is interesting because it comes from the root nacà which means precisely this dedicated or separated, and this is true that the law said that they had to maintain certain Specific rules, as we saw in two watchtowers before, the Nazarenes could not take anything from the fruit of the vine, nor could they cut their hair or touch any dead person, even if they were a direct family member.
4. a) What does it mean for us to dedicate ourselves to Jehovah?
Well, make the decision to be disciples of Jesus and do the will of God.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Devoting ourselves to Jehovah means making the decision to be disciples of Jesus, and putting God's will first in our lives.
To dedicate ourselves to him we need to have a lot of love and a lot of faith to put the name and will of God first in our lives and we can achieve that by becoming disciples of Jesus Christ.
The question asked by the paragraph that if we follow Jehovah's rules are a burden for us, of course not, because those of us who love Jehovah and trust that his rules are for our benefit and find that living according to his principles brings true happiness.
4. b) What does it mean to renounce oneself? (See also the drawing).
Well, what it means to renounce oneself is that when we dedicate ourselves to Jehovah we have to say no to everything that displeases him, such as sexual immorality.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Renouncing oneself involves saying no to our own desires if they are at odds with God's will, which includes rejecting the works of the flesh, such as sexual immorality. For us, this will not be a burden if we love Jehovah and are convinced that his standards are best for us.
An example of this is given by the image for this paragraph. Whoever loves Jehovah sees his rules as a protective fence that Jehovah places on us out of love. His just rules would be like a fence that protects us from the lion that wants to devour us. You found, whoever does not love Jehovah, does not perceive his love either, and that is why he sees his rules, laws and principles as something as restrictive as the bars of a cell that keep him imprisoned.
The Greek expression that was translated “let him renounce himself” can also be translated “let him deny himself”, that is, saying no to himself, when we dedicate ourselves to Jehovah we put our lives in his hands for Therefore we have to say no to everything that Jehovah does not like because we have put our lives in Jehovah's hands.
ILLUSTRATION
How can we see Jehovah's rules or do we see it as something that prevents us like a person who is imprisoned in a jail who cannot do what he wants or as it looks good in the photograph as a protection to help us, for example the truth is we have I really want to caress your little animals, but of course now it really is a protection, the world is like that, the truth is that the world really sets its rules and what we want is for Jehovah to protect us so we appreciate Jehovah's rules.
The key is to love Jehovah because if we arm Jehovah and are convinced that his rules are the best for us, sometimes we can see these animals that perhaps when we were children we had stuffed animals and we have an intention to touch them, we touch these animals in the flesh and bone and those two seconds that we were touching can be exciting, but what comes next we all know the consequences, so we realize that sometimes getting your way and not complying with Jehovah's rules can have immediate gratification but Then the consequences are terrible.
Yes, that is why Isaiah 48:17 and 18 tells us why Jehovah's teaching says that so that it may go well for you, so that you may benefit yourself, this is the path where you should walk, when we make a comparison with the life that we as Christians We carry and what we see in the world we really understand that Jehovah gives us this guidance so that we may benefit.
And what we have to be clear about is that all those rules that are set for us are for our benefits, as someone can see in the photograph, what this brother, Brother Nicolás, said, we have two options: see ourselves limited, thinking that these rules are like a prison or see what truly benefits us and see how it is a protection as the image looks against bad things that can happen to us, such as, for example, lions.
Do you see Jehovah's rules as the bars of a cell, which do not allow you to do whatever you want, or as the bars of a zoo, which protect you from the attack of lions? (See paragraph 4).
5. a) How does someone dedicate themselves to Jehovah?
Well, we do it privately through a prayer and in it we commit ourselves to love Jehovah with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and we tell him that from then on we will be only his will and in addition to that we will also follow the example and model of Jesus
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Making him a prayer in which he promises that he will worship only him and that the most important thing in his life will be to do his will.
Mark 12:30 shows that dedication is when the person promises Jehovah that he will always love him with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind and with all his strength. For its part, Ecclesiastes 5:4,5 shows that the vow of dedication is a very serious promise. Hence, whoever does it must strive to fulfill it, since that is what Jehovah expects the person to do.
5. b) What is the difference between dedication and baptism? (See also images).
The difference between dedication and baptism is that dedication is done privately, it is a personal act between the individual and Jehovah, while baptism is a public act that shows others that the person has dedicated himself to Jehovah.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
And that regardless of the circumstances that each one has, as seen in the photo, different cases, different ages, we all make the same promise that we are going to love Jehovah with all our being and we are going to do his will and thus we will avoid doing the things that Jehovah does. he doesn't like them.
The dedication is done privately and is something between us and Jehovah, and on the other hand, baptism is already something public, so when one is baptized, people already know that we have dedicated ourselves, that we have made this promise to Jehovah.
What is expected is that one fulfill this dedication that one has made to Jehovah because, according to Ecclesiastes 5:4 and 5, what Jehovah expects is that one fulfill it. In fact, it is better that one does not make the vow and that one does not fulfill it. In fact, he considers him to be a stupid person, so to speak, so what Jehovah expects is simply that when we dedicate ourselves, then we fulfill that vow that we have made to him, just as when one fulfills it when, for example, in marriage one makes a vow and what Jehovah expects is that you fulfill it, with respect to dedication it is the same that we live our lives in harmony with this dedication.
ILLUSTRATION
Devoting yourself to Jehovah means promising that you will worship him alone and that the most important thing in your life will be to do his will. (See paragraph 5).
WHAT WILL MOTIVATE YOU TO DEDICATE YOURSELF TO JEHOVAH?
6. What motivates someone to dedicate themselves to Jehovah?
If we see that this love has been cultivated as we learn about it by studying the word of God the Bible and thus spiritual knowledge is acquired.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The main motivation for dedicating oneself to Jehovah is love. The deep and abiding love we feel for Jehovah that grows as we gain accurate knowledge and spiritual understanding through Bible study, reinforcing our conviction that Jehovah is real, that he inspired the Bible with his Spirit and that he has an organization that he uses to carry out his will.
Yes, it is true, as we learn and as Colossians 1:9 mentions, we have exact knowledge and spiritual understanding, our love has to grow and that means that we have to somehow bend our elbows to study and achieve it.
Learning information from the Bible but also meditating on it and converting that knowledge into feelings.
There are couples in the world who say what we had was love at first sight, blind love, I suppose, but in the case of dedication to Jehovah, it is not like that. One opens the Bible and says I love Jehovah, but here it says understanding, not only studying but making it ours. know the qualities of Jehovah in order to love him.
7. What is expected of someone who is going to dedicate themselves to Jehovah?
Well, first he feels an intense love for Jehovah and desires with all his heart to be pleasant and this is achieved because he has first known the teachings of an exact knowledge of Jehovah and this is what leads him to have that love for Jehovah.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Well, it is expected that he already knows the basic teachings of the Bible and that he is obeying God's rules and talking to other people about the beliefs that he is acquiring and also feels a very intense love for Jehovah and desires from the heart to worship him alone. .
You are expected to have knowledge of basic biblical teachings, to be following divine standards, and to be sharing your beliefs with others based on your personal circumstances. Additionally, you are expected to have a deep and sincere love for Jehovah and a desire to worship him exclusively.
It is also expected that your decision to dedicate yourself and be baptized will be a personal decision motivated by genuine love for Jehovah, and not by pleasing other people such as your Bible teacher, your parents, or your friends.
So to speak, whether you are actually acting as a witness, whether you are preaching to other people, whether you are obeying the rules that Jehovah asks of all of us, in short, you are already doing it.
I do find it interesting that the paragraph also says that the person who wants to be baptized is not going to think about dedicating himself and getting baptized just perhaps to please the person who is giving him Bible classes and who is motivated by sincere love for Jehovah.
Yes, he should not be motivated by wanting to please his parents or perhaps also because his little friends are baptized.
8. What is the relationship between gratitude and dedication? (Psalm 116:12-14).
Well, they go hand in hand because when we feel gratitude for Jehovah, it drives us to fulfill what we have promised him.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Gratitude and dedication are closely related in Psalm 116:12-14. When we recognize all that Jehovah has done for us and feel grateful for his gifts and immense love, we naturally feel the desire to dedicate our lives to him in gratitude.
The letter of James tells us that all good things come from Jehovah and so if one meditates on as many good things as we have received from our God Jehovah, it is only natural that that love is born in us that drives us to dedicate our lives to him.
Jehovah has given us life, the sacrifice of his son Jesus, perfect gifts, the possibility of having a friendship with him, the hope of eternal life, among many other gifts. All of this should drive or motivate a person to dedicate his or her life to Jehovah, because dedication is a way of expressing gratitude.
And the question asked in Psalm 116:12 is very good, how will Jehovah repay him for all the good he has done to me and the truth is that we cannot return to Jehovah everything he has given us because it is a lot and it is not in our power, But what we can give him and what Jehovah will greatly appreciate is our dedication of our lives and not dedicating ourselves to selfish goals but rather doing everything we can in the service of Jehovah.
Yes, Deuteronomy 16:17 also says that the gift that each of us brings must be in proportion to the blessing that Jehovah has given us and he has given, as we have seen, his own son, so in response we dedicate our own lives to him.
In the video that is mentioned in the paragraphs of the book I enjoyed, the brother was talking about a text from Romans 12:1 that says that we have to present our bodies as a living and acceptable sacrifice to God and the truth is that in our life as As mentioned, it is priceless, so our body, our entire life, everything we can is the best way, the best gift we can make, to offer it to Jehovah.
ARE YOU READY TO DEDICATE YOURSELF AND BE BAPTIZED?
9. Why should no one feel pressured to dedicate themselves to Jehovah?
Because each person has a different pace when it comes to progressing and also a different spiritual maturity, so one must analyze one's own situation, one's circumstances and not compare oneself with others but see that one is really prepared.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
No one should feel pressured to dedicate themselves to Jehovah because each person has their own pace of growth towards spiritual maturity, as well as personal circumstances that must be analyzed centrally and without comparing themselves with others.
Everyone must take into account that Jehovah values sincerity and genuine love in dedication, so it is essential that it be a personal, sincere decision without external pressures. Hence, if necessary, the person should take time to strengthen his faith and make the changes that he considers necessary in his life before making that important decision.
Yes, an example that helps me understand it is that in a garden not all the flowers grow at the same time, and when you pull on one of them, the only thing you get is to break it, and in the same way, not all the students grow at the same time, so Everyone has their time and it's good that the student understands it, but also the teachers or parents.
And that we have to be attentive to their needs, if they have to make changes, how can we help them, if they have to build their faith, how can we help them, and make sure that it is sincere, not that they do it for Jehovah out of their love for Jehovah.
Yes also the Bible speaks quite clearly in Galatians 6:4 which says that each one examines his own actions and then you will have reason to rejoice for what he himself has done, and then in five it says because each one will carry his own burden of responsibility. That is to say, it is very personal.
And who really knows if you are ready or not in your heart and relationship with Jehovah is yourself, and although we do not doubt that the intentions of the brother or sister who tells a student that he should be baptized are already good, it will never be the best motive. to do so, because just as we cannot accelerate the growth of a plant or pretend to have a highway, all the cars go at the same speed, the decision and race of every Christian is one of resistance, not speed, and it should happen as we have seen naturally. fruit of the gratitude and love that each person feels for Jehovah.
Jehovah does not force anyone to serve him, so we should never pressure a student and say, hey, when are you going to be baptized, why? Because as has already been mentioned, it is a personal decision, we have to be clear about the words of Galatians where each One is responsible for what one does and what one does not do, what is always very important is doing something motivated or done for good principles or reasons.
10. What can you do if you see that you are not ready to dedicate yourself and be baptized? (See also the box “If your parents are Witnesses”).
If the person feels that he is not yet ready to dedicate himself and be baptized, he should continue striving to achieve that goal. She should also ask Jehovah to help her make the changes he needs. For its part, 1 John 5:14 assures us that Jehovah will hear our prayers and answer them.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
In the case of those who are children of Jehovah's Witnesses and receive the Bible course with them, something that will help them a lot is to study the three articles in the series "Should I Get Baptized" from the section: "Young People Ask" on jw.org. You will also find more practical information to meditate on in these two March 2016 Watchtower study articles: “Are You Prepared to Be Baptized” and “How Can You Prepare for Baptism?”
In Philippians 2:3 Jehovah assures that he can fill them with energy by giving them both desire and strength, so if they ask Jehovah strongly for it, he will surely help them progress.
1 John 5:14 is also very interesting because there it says that we continue asking God for anything that is in accordance with his will, he does not listen, so here we see that if we want that goal of being baptized we have to continue asking Jehovah by following making changes to reach that goal but remembering that each person carries his or her own burden of responsibility and that is as much from Jehovah as it is from him.
So we encourage all students that, yes, perhaps they think that they are not yet ready, they should not leave it there to wait for the desire, but as the paragraph says, they must get down to work, ask Jehovah for help, and also consult the information on the publications and so on that way that desire will grow.
Well, we know it just like everyone else when we have been studying the Bible when we have gained knowledge of our love for Jehovah because it has been growing more and more and we have decided to put ourselves at his service and separate ourselves from the world but that is not the only thing we have to continue there it begins the life of a Christian and we must continue advancing as the years go by and above all spirituality and strengthening it.
If your parents are Witnesses
If your parents are teaching you the truth, it will help you to read the three articles in the “Should I Get Baptized?” series in the “Young People Ask” section of jw.org.
You will also find more practical information in these two Watchtower study articles from March 2016: “Are You Ready to Be Baptized?” and “How can you prepare for baptism?”
Without a doubt, you will benefit if you take time to analyze all this information and meditate on it.
WHY SOME DO NOT DECIDE TO TAKE THE STEP
11. What will Jehovah do to help us be faithful?
Jehovah will give us everything we need, so that we behave in a manner worthy of him and we thank him in everything. For example, he will give us the strength to do what is right and be faithful according to his will. We can also trust that Jehovah will support us and help us overcome any fear of committing a sin and ending up disfellowshipped.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
As mentioned at 1 Corinthians 10:13, Jehovah is faithful and will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. With his support and guidance, we can remain firm in our faith and be faithful to him at all times. That's one reason relatively few people end up expelled.
Well, our publications define sin as an action, feeling or thought that goes against God's rules, so we must understand that whether we are baptized or not, if we know what we have to do and we don't do it, we are already sinning. That is why we must make an effort and keep in mind that as long as we are faithful, Jehovah will be faithful and will help us in any situation.
This is what Jehovah promises us in 1 Corinthians 10:13. There he says that we are not going to be tempted more than we can bear. Jehovah is going to be there to help us. If we are afraid that we might commit some sin, we have to remember that not only are we going to We are the ones who are going to fight against that sin, we are going to have Jehovah's help and then we are going to be able to take the step with conviction.
Because if so many years have passed, surely we have all had our vicissitudes, our problems, but the evidence is that Jehovah has helped us get here.
Well, it will help us to know that Jehovah is not going to leave us alone, for he himself tells us in Colossians 1:10 that he is going to give us what we need so that we can behave in a dignified manner so that we can please him and in The previous paragraph in first John 5:14 said that no matter what we ask of Jehovah, as long as it is according to his will, he gives it to us, so there is nothing better than asking Jehovah for something like that.
Also first, Corinthians 10:13 is a very beautiful text because it says that Jehovah will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, but he will also give us a way out of what we are going through. You can really think that anything can happen. thing and if you are baptized and then you fail but everyone can fail therefore it is the thought that it can become that Jehovah forgives and that we do not have to be afraid to face a situation because he will help us out.
He comments that this is one of the reasons why relatively few people end up being expelled and that with Jehovah's support it is possible to be faithful.
12. What will help us avoid committing a serious sin?
We are all imperfect, but we can learn to control what we say and do. In this sense it will help us to maintain constant communication with Jehovah through prayer, having a personal study program, attending meetings and preaching. In this way we will strengthen our faith and Jehovah will be with us to give us the necessary strength to fulfill our vow or dedication.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
It will help us read and meditate on texts such as Galatians 5:16 where we read continue to walk according to the spirit and thus you will not fulfill any desire of the flesh, that is, we are not alone. Jehovah is with us in the fight against temptation by Let us both strengthen our friendship with him through our personal study and pray every day.
Well, also having a personal study, attendance at meetings, preaching, all of that will help us a lot.
And some people say that there are simply impulses or emotions that cannot be controlled, but here we learn that the Bible and Jehovah help us that there are situations or emotions that, no matter how deep or rooted they may be in a person, we can learn to control and how. react to them.
It is true that in the end what we do or do not do depends on us, but if we are preparing in advance the results will always be positive.
In the end, the end of the paragraph gives us the point that can help us precisely to remain firm and that is that we have to be constant, we have to remember the vow we have made, we have to be constant in prayer in personal study, never leaving congregation meetings. nor preaching because if we have that perseverance and also have the confidence that Jehovah is there to take care of us and protect us, we are convinced that we will overcome any circumstance.
Well, what we have seen is that in the face of a serious sin the decision is ours, that is, it is up to us to fall or not to fall and that we can also learn to control all those desires.
13. What good example did Joseph give us?
José gave us an excellent example of integrity and faithfulness. Despite his repeated temptations, he remained firm in his decision not to give in to immorality. His determined response to Potiphar's wife shows the importance of being clear about our principles and being prepared to act on them. If we follow his example it will be easier for us to say no to a temptation.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Yes, he gave us an example of thinking in advance what we will do when faced with a temptation and that is an example of Joseph, Potiphar's wife constantly urged him to sleep with her and logically he replied that how could I do something so bad and made her sin against God, so she already knew how Joseph was going to react before she had the temptation, and so logically she could answer him and tell him what she had to do to obey Jehovah.
As Joseph said, “How could I do something so bad and actually sin against God?” He demonstrated that his loyalty to Jehovah and his moral conscience were stronger than any passing temptation. This biblical story teaches us that, like Joseph, we can resist temptations if we are determined and if we consider in advance the consequences of our actions.
And this thinking beforehand can also be applied by parents with their children or teachers with their students, in the end we are all human beings and we face the same tests and those who are more experienced in age or perhaps spiritually have been able to see the result. of those tests or the result of people who also thought beforehand, so that experience is vital for parents to teach it to their children and also for teachers to teach their students.
In fact, in the story in verse 10 it says that Joseph never agreed to sleep with her or stay with her, he had already decided beforehand that he was not even going to be in her presence and that helped him get away from many problems.
And also how beautiful the way of thinking that Joseph had was not only that it was a sin that it was, he was afraid, he was afraid of doing something against Jehovah, he had come to love Jehovah so much, just like we do when we dedicate ourselves. We have loved him so much that now what we don't want to do is anything that could bother him and that is what he did. Joseph first thought about things that could bother Jehovah so that we could be prepared and not do it.
14. How can we learn to reject everything that Jehovah hates?
For when a temptation presents itself to us, we must quickly reject everything that Jehovah hates and without stopping for a second to think about it.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
We can think in advance about our actions and decisions in the face of possible temptations, learn to immediately reject what is bad, follow biblical advice such as in Psalms 97:10 and 119:165, strengthen our resolve to act correctly without hesitation and prepare ourselves mentally to resolve firmly and quickly when difficult situations arise.
Recently in a speech we were given a comparison and it was that if we live in an area where we know that mosquitoes can transmit us a serious disease, when a mosquito lands on us we would not begin to observe and think about the mosquito but we would instantly think about it. We would kill for that, that is what we have to do with any bad thought that comes to us, eliminate it instantly.
And also if we imitate Joseph as we have seen, we are clear that we want to be faithful to Jehovah because from now on we have to think about the different temptations to see that we do not fall into them.
Well, yes, we can also propose a personal study dedicated to how to react when a temptation arises and from now on be prepared because the world is very turbulent.
As Psalm 119:167 says, this has positive consequences, it says because he who loves the law enjoys an abundance of peace and that in the world we live in today, feeling inner peace is very pleasant but he continues saying nothing will be an obstacle to They do not say you will have no obstacles, obstacles come, trials come, but he who loves, he who fears Jehovah will not cause that obstacle to harm him.
Yes, finally, he says, we will have it very clear, that is, we will determine from the first moment that a temptation comes, what we are going to do. We will not wait to see if I am the exception to the rule and it does not happen to me, but we will have it very clear from the first moment.
15. How can you demonstrate that you are one of those who “earnestly seek” Jehovah? (Hebrews 11:6).
We demonstrate that we are among those who earnestly seek Jehovah by searching our hearts and asking Jehovah to reveal any evil tendencies, as King David did.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Also when we strive to reach the goal of dedicating ourselves and getting baptized. Which demonstrates our sincere desires to serve Jehovah with all our hearts. If we do these things we secure the blessings of Jehovah as mentioned in Hebrews 11:6.
When we strive to achieve the goal of action and baptism, we may face different difficulties that can be of many kinds. We pray to Jehovah asking him to help us examine us to see what the problem is, but we do not leave it like that if we do not. We provide the means, not that of course well maybe because not, I mean the demonstration comes when we do something with effort with perseverance and consistency therefore if we have any difficulty we not only recognize it but we have to progress.
And in the text of Hebrews 11:6 it also mentions that he rewards those who seek him with determination, but we have to believe that God exists and that he rewards him, that is, we have to be sure that Jehovah, if we do our part, he will not go away. Let me mean he is going to bless us for the effort we make to achieve that goal.
Furthermore, Psalm 139:23 and 24 there we see that King David begged Jehovah to thoroughly examine his heart and to look into his thoughts and observe him to see if he had any tendency, because we also have to ask Jehovah to May he help us see where we have to change and be able to continue maintaining our dedication to him.
KEEP COMING CLOSER TO JEHOVAH
16, 17. How does Jehovah bring the children of the Witnesses into the congregation? (John 6:44).
John 6:44 says that it is Jehovah who draws people to himself, and this includes the children of the Witnesses. The Bible in James 48 encourages everyone, including the children of his servants, to draw near to Jehovah with the promise that he will draw near too. Therefore, although parents play an important role in teaching the truth, each individual, including children of Witnesses, is viewed by Jehovah as valuable and is brought to the congregation individually.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The ideas we read in James 4:8 and 2 Thessalonians 2:13 highlight that, although parents provide the initial teaching, each witness child must personally approach Jehovah and cultivate his or her own faith, to become part of God's valuable possession. .
Yes, it is Jehovah who attracts it and now we have to do our part, those of us who have been our parents who have raised us in the truth, we may think well, I am here for my parents but Jehovah saw something in us and now we have to respond. .
I really like what First Chronicles 28:9 says when it was said to Solomon, if you seek Jehovah, he will let you find him, so the only thing Jehovah asks of us, even though we are children of witnesses, is that each of us take a first step. He already does everything else.
Yes, I also really like the note that personalizes the young children of Witnesses when it tells him that you first approached and he will approach because Jehovah has brought you, that is, not because your parents are witnesses, so it is a new person for each son of a Jehovah's Witness who approaches Jehovah and wants to serve him.
Yes, it is very nice what paragraph 16 says at the end that Jehovah has seen something good in us and it is not that he has only seen something good but that he sees us as his special property and he is attentive to everything we need.
It encourages us a lot because Jehovah has seen inside us, he has seen that we want to serve him and not because our parents have helped us by teaching us but because each of us is personally responsible for what we do for Jehovah and it is our love for him that he has seen. him in our hearts.
In James 4:8 it says draw near to God and he draws near to you and in 2 Thessalonians 2:13 it says that from the beginning God chose you, so we see that he chooses you.
18. What will we see in the next article? (Psalm 40:8).
When someone dedicates themselves and baptizes, they are imitating Jesus. Therefore, in the following article we will see tips that help us continue serving Jehovah faithfully after baptism. This will help us imitate the attitude of Jesus, who after being baptized willingly appeared before his father to do whatever he asked as described in Psalm 4:8 and Hebrews 10:7.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Yes, of course we have to make the words of the psalmist our own, to make it a pleasure for us to follow the law of Jehovah and to make it so deep within us that when we go to make any decision, everything we have inside comes forward. .
It is a messianic prophecy, that is, Jesus actually fulfilled it in the quote from Hebrews 1:7. You can see how Jesus said these words, so we have to have the same spirit as Jesus. We have dedicated ourselves. We are going to do your will and we are going to do it. lifetime.
WHAT WOULD YOU ANSWER?
What does it mean to be dedicated to Jehovah?
Being dedicated to Jehovah means promising that we will worship him alone and that the most important thing in our lives will be to do his will. It also means separating ourselves for a sacred service to God, committing ourselves to follow his commandments, principles and teachings in all areas of our lives.
Well, for us, Jehovah's Witnesses means that we make the decision to be disciples of Jesus and that from this moment on we will put God's will in our lives first.
What is the relationship between gratitude and dedication?
Gratitude and dedication are closely related in the context of serving Jehovah. When we recognize all that God has done for us, from his daily gifts to his sacrifice of his son for our salvation, we feel a deep gratitude that naturally compels us to want to dedicate our lives to him in response to his undeserved love. .
Well, when we feel or know better and what Jehovah did throughout history, how he showed his personality and how he dealt with his servants and how he dealt with us and how he sent his son Jesus, it makes us feel deep gratitude. and we want to demonstrate that through personal dedication to him.
What will help you avoid committing a serious sin?
To avoid committing serious sin, it is important to maintain a close relationship with Jehovah through daily prayer, Bible study, meeting attendance, and ministry.
Well, having thought in advance how we are going to react to a serious sin and strengthening our spirituality by praying to Jehovah, preaching, and having a deep study of his scriptures, all of this will help us.
