TREASURES FROM GOD'S WORD: April 29-May 5, 2024, “I will praise Jehovah at all times”, Prepared Discourse.

“I will praise Jehovah at all times” (10 mins.)

What do you think of when you hear the word worship? You may imagine a brother praying to Jehovah on his knees by his bed and opening his heart to him. Or perhaps you imagine a family that enthusiastically studies the Bible together. In both cases, they are worshiping God, and of course, Jehovah accepts that worship, because he agrees with his purpose and they do it with love and great respect.

But there are several aspects of worship that Jehovah accepts today. One of them, we are going to talk at this point about Treasures of the Bible, with the title: "I will praise Jehovah at all times." And, praising Jehovah is a way of worshiping him.

That is why we must ask ourselves: How much have I progressed? Can I improve the quality of my worship? At this point, we are going to see three aspects that we can praise Jehovah, even if we do not have the appropriate conditions or the encouragement of self-esteem.

Second, what can we say, Tell others about Jehovah with Pride and not put ourselves first. And of course, when we go to Jehovah, we have a good effect on those who are not heard. Let's analyze these three points. The first, in the case of King David, praised Jehovah even when he had serious problems. If we look here at Psalm 34: 1 he said the following.

LET'S READ PSALM 34:1.

I will praise Jehovah at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.

When we examine the heading of this Psalm 34, we realize the conditions in which David operated and he was praising Jehovah after that. He mentions that this Psalm was composed after he pretended to have lost his case before Abimelech and was handcuffed by him. That is to say, he came out of a situation that was about to die if they really discovered that this was King David, or This was the one who was going to be king and who of course had a reputation for having destroyed great enemies.

Therefore, it had not been the best circumstances, but he still said: "I will praise Jehovah at all times." In addition to this, David's fugitive conditions did not take him to nice places. He usually spent time in the desert, in caves, hiding, they weren't the best conditions, but his point was very clear, to praise Jehovah at all times.

Giving an application to our days, we want to praise Jehovah in any situation. If we are going through any difficulty, whether at school or at work, with our family that does not serve Jehovah, there would be no excuse for not walking to Jehovah, that is why he said that his praise was always on our lips. of the.

So we just need to examine, meditate on what is around us, and praise Jehovah, including before our brothers in the congregation. To give you the reason why we praise him, we are very happy to do so. For example, I have seen when children have to talk to other children and it is with a fight about who is the best dad they have.

The two will always jump to their father more, maybe they will say my father does this, but mine does this. And they will always have or look for reasons to put their dad at the top compared to others. The same is in our case. We want to praise Jehovah, we want to magnify his qualities, make them known to others, including our brothers in the congregation, so that they know that we are grateful to have the best father in the universe and that we want to praise him, because this is part of our worship. And we could compare David to the children, who proudly spoke about his father. If we look here at Psalm 34 2 4 it says.

LET'S READ PSALM 34:2-4.

I will speak of Jehovah with pride; The meek will hear it and be glad. [gimel] 3 Magnify Jehovah with me; Let us together exalt his name. [dalet] 4 I inquired of the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.

As we saw a while ago, the heading of this psalm 34 had to do with having survived before Abimelech, that if they discovered that he was in his right mind, they would actually order him to kill him. But here David was not exalting himself before others as if he had achieved something wonderful for himself. In none of these verses of Psalm 34 does he exalt himself, but rather proudly sets up Jehovah.

At the beginning, verse 2 says, I will speak proudly of the Lord. In verse 3, magnify the Lord with me, and in verse 4 he says, He delivered me from all my fears. Therefore, if we have a special Gift that we use in the congregation, why not direct it to Jehovah or use this gift to magnify Jehovah before others? It would be beautiful, as David did, not to draw attention to himself or his achievements, but rather to direct them toward Jehovah. And the third aspect has to do with when we praise Jehovah, just as David did, he will strengthen others. If we read now in Psalm 34 verse 5 it says.

LET'S READ PSALMS 34:5.

Those who turned to him became radiant; His face never blushes with shame.

If we see our image in the activities guide, we see here David when he is speaking to a group of warriors who have escaped from the hands of Saul, now they have wanted to be with him, even though the conditions are not the best, but they know that they were being led by Jehovah's anointed. A person who was only interested in putting Jehovah first in their lives, and there he is standing before them giving them the courage and encouragement to continue forward despite the conditions in which they found themselves.

How can we imitate the example we see in this illustration? In various ways, for example, when we converse with our brothers in the congregation, we can tell them something that we have heard or read that has benefited us in increasing our biblical understanding or our faith.

Or how about participating with comments in the meeting? It's true, sometimes we are very afraid, we even raise our hand in a way that we don't want them to even see us, but we try. We want to praise Jehovah through our responses in the congregation. Maybe we can give a quick direct answer to the question. It may be explaining a secondary idea or citing a biblical text that, although it is not copied there, but the text or an explanation of the image that we are seeing in the study is included.

And another beautiful way to praise Jehovah in meetings is by singing kingdom songs enthusiastically. How about you get that idea? If he can't participate with comments because he wasn't given the opportunity, not because he didn't try. What if instead we do it through songs, participate in them.

Jehovah will be very happy with us if we sing as best we can. So, Truth we can say like David I will praise Jehovah at all times. Of course. Always remember, praising Jehovah is also a way of worshiping him, and we want to do it always, we want to do it throughout eternity, and from now on, like King David, let us praise Jehovah at all times.
