TREASURES FROM GOD'S WORD: November 20-26, 2023, “Let us never abandon our brothers,” Prepared Speech.
“Let us never abandon our brothers” (10 mins.).
Life often presents us with challenges that test not only our faith, but also the strength of our relationships with our brothers. And this week we are going to explore the profound wisdom contained in the book of Job, this story full of challenges and trials provides us with valuable lessons about the importance of staying together in the most difficult times.
That is precisely what happened to Job, the Biblical story reveals to us that even those whom Job considered closest turned their backs on him in his difficult moments. So today we are going to delve into this experience, extracting significant lessons to apply in our lives and learn valuable lessons for our daily lives.
So the story of Job presents us with a righteous man who in his suffering experienced the painful reality of loneliness, his brothers moved away, his servants stopped responding and even the little children mocked him. Let us please go directly to the story, which gives us lessons about the importance of remaining firm in our loyalty to our brothers in times of distress. To do this, we are going to read the book of Job, Chapter 19 and verse 13. Please accompany me with the reading. If you found it, it says like this...
LET'S READ JOB 19:13.
13 He has alienated my own brothers from me, and those who know me have alienated me.
This verse shows us Job's anguish when he says that my own brothers have been alienated from me, it is a reminder that our actions or lack thereof can have a significant impact on the lives of our brothers.
Let us imagine for a moment the anguish of Job, a righteous and God-fearing man, when he found himself not only dealing with material and family losses, but also facing the painful abandonment of his own brothers, those who should have been his closest support. they turned their backs.
This scenario leads us to reflect on how we react in similar situations and invites us to cultivate empathy in our hearts. Job's loneliness deepens when even those in his service and small children emotionally abandon him. Let us now look at verses 16 and 18 of the same chapter 19 of Job. He says ……
LET'S READ JOB 19:16,18.
16 I call my servant, but he does not answer; with my mouth I beg him for mercy.
18 Even little children despise me; As soon as I get up, they start laughing at me.
This situation of lack of respect and compassion adds more burden to Job's heavy hearted day……. Perhaps most painful for Job was the fact that even his closest friends, those whom he trusted and loved, turned against him. Let's read together Job Chapter 19, and now verse 19, says the following...
LET'S READ JOB 19:19.
19 All my closest friends hate me, and those I loved have turned against me.
The betrayal of friendship intensifies Job's desolation, highlighting that in difficult times true loyalty is tested. Given Job's experience, we need to stop and ask ourselves: How can I continue showing love to a brother who is going through a distressing situation?
In our corresponding activities guide this week, we find the answer to this question, since one of the ways to continue showing love to our brothers who are going through a distressing situation, is as we see in the image, listening to them with empathy and helping them with household chores. .
This couple is providing practical help to our sister who is going through a distressing situation. There in her image we see her wife listening to her very attentively, and at her table we see that they are sharing breakfast and water with her. And in the background we see the husband repairing some damage in the kitchen. These actions are practical help that each of us can do for our brothers who are going through distressing situations.
Proverbs 17:17, “It reminds us that a true friend loves at all times and is a brother in times of trouble.” This text illustrates the importance of practical compassion. Let us offer tangible help to those who are grieving. When our brothers are going through a difficult situation, such as the loss of a loved one. , some illness, financial problems, the explosion of a very close family member, in those moments, our presence, compassion and support can be the light that guides us through their difficulties.
We learn that we can be the shoulder that our brothers need. The example of Jesus who not only cried with Martha and Mary, but also gave them words of comfort, also supporting those who are grieving. This is a lesson that we also draw from this story, to support those who are going through distressing situations.
What can we learn is to support faithful family members in difficult situations such as the expulsion of a loved one? We must stay close to affected family members. Hebrews 10:4 and 25. “Let us continue to encourage one another.” Let's continue to encourage, let's call, congratulate those who need it most, love and encouragement are essential in these difficult times.
We can also understand and support the work that the elders do in the congregation, think when a brother who holds a position in the congregation is removed. Whether moved voluntarily or not, we can imagine the tension they may feel. So humility and love lead us to provide spiritual support, reminding that person of his valuable role in the congregation. According to 1 Thessalonians 5:14. Let us continue to show understanding and appreciation, even in times of change and adjustment.
So in conclusion, brothers, we can take many lessons with us, lasting lessons for our daily lives. The life of Job offers us a solid guide to face challenges in a compassionate and loving way, never abandoning our brothers.
Let us not allow the suffering of our brothers to be a heavy burden. May our love at all times strengthen you and help you cope. In short, let us always remember the words of Jesus: "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." May Jehovah guide and strengthen us in our determination to never abandon our brothers.
