APPLY YOURSELF TO THE FIELD MINISTRY: 2-8-October-2023, Speech, Lesson 18, Assignment Prepared.
Speech (5 mins.): w22.01 11, 12 paras. 11-14. Title: Let's be good teachers like Santiago. Let's be realistic and humble (th lec. 18).
On one occasion a weasel tried to reach the grapes that were hanging from a vine, but no matter how hard he tried to reach them, his efforts were in vain. So he walked away from her, saying: "These grapes are green", closing his eyes to the reality that if he had reached them he would have had a great banquet.
Sometimes not achieving a purpose can lead us to become content with false hopes, as this weasel did. This moral teaches us that we must always be realistic about what we see and in our case as teachers of the word of God it can help us a lot in that sense.
For example, we can learn to be realistic by observing a character from the past, we are referring to Santiago, whom the Bible presents to us as a model of wisdom and understanding. He teaches us valuable lessons that we must apply in our task of helping others in their growth. spiritual and to be realistic and humble.
Santiago was a realistic man. When we examine his letter to the brothers, we see that he was fully aware of the challenges and problems they faced in his spiritual life. Some of them had difficulty putting biblical counsel into practice, while others showed favoritism or struggled to control their words and attitudes.
But what stands out is that Santiago did not abandon them in their difficulties nor did he judge them harshly. If not, he continued to commend them as mentioned in James 5:13, which I invite you to read, if he found it, please accompany me with the reading, it says like this….
LET'S READ JAMES 5:13-15.
Is there anyone among you who is suffering? Keep praying. Is there anyone who is happy? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is there anyone sick among you? Let him call the elders of the congregation and let them pray for him, applying oil to him in the name of Jehovah. 15 And prayer made in faith will cause the sick to recover, and the Lord will raise him up. Furthermore, if he has committed any sin, he will be forgiven.
The first lesson we must draw from Santiago's life is the importance of being realistic. When we work as students and brothers in faith, we must be aware that they may face challenges and changing negative aspects of their personality may take time. Just like Santiago, we must have the courage to point out where they need to improve. But always from a positive and compassionate approach.
This means that although we are realistic we should not be negative, since being realistic implies taking into account that They can improve by continuing to learn from Jehovah, we must also trust him, since the Bible assures us of the following in James 4:10, let's read Together please say like this….
LET'S READ JAMES 4:10.
Humble yourselves in the sight of Jehovah and he will magnify you.
While we are realistic, we must also be humble and Santiago's example continues to help us. Let us now please read what James 3:2 says.
LET'S READ JAMES 3:2.
Because we all stumble many times. He who never stumbles over his words is perfect and capable of restraining his entire body as well.
We must not forget that we are all sinners, He never considered himself special or superior because of his relationship with Jesus, nor did he try to appear perfect. He addressed the others by calling them my dear brothers, recognizing that we all make mistakes on many occasions. So this teaches us to avoid arrogance and superiority in our teaching.
By admitting our own imperfections and sharing how Jehovah has helped us make changes in our lives, as we can inspire students to see that they too can serve Him, we must show them that just like us they can experience spiritual transformation and growth in their relationship. With God.
In summary, let us follow the example of Santiago by being a realistic and humble teacher, see others with understanding and love, but be brave in pointing out the areas in which they can improve, let us always remember that we are sinners and that only with the help of Jehovah we can grow in faith.
In this way we will be fulfilling the valuable task of guiding others towards the deepest and most significant spiritual path of Jehovah. May he give us the wisdom and humility necessary to be good teachers like Santiago was in his time.
