All theocratic schools keep up

In 1 Corinthians 2:13 the apostle Paul wrote: “We also speak of these things, but we do not use words taught by human wisdom, but words taught by the spirit. Thus, we explain spiritual matters with spiritual words."

Explaining spiritual topics with spiritual words combines the power of the inspired word of God with the power of publications prepared with the help of the Holy Spirit, when we let the publications of the faithful and prudent slave help us understand the word of God, this has a huge effect on how we think and feel.

This is the main objective of the department of theocratic schools here in Paterson, this may seem like a simple task, but it is not, because Divine education is not static, but dynamic, like our God who is dynamic. As Jehovah's purpose is fulfilled, we understand the truth better.

Therefore everything we teach in theocratic schools must be kept up to date, and that is not just anything. During the past 9 years, only three of our schools were attended by some 800,000 siblings. These schools are: the School for Kingdom Evangelizers, the school for congregation elders, and the school for circuit overseers and their wives. We want all students in our schools to receive the most up-to-date information. How does this department ensure that the curricula are up to date, uniform and motivating?

One of the most important tools is our publications index, one section of the index is titled Belief Clarification and we've had quite a few over the last 10 years. So we are very, very attentive and when one of our beliefs is clarified we think, if that forces us to make a change, we ask ourselves what is being taught? Do we need to modify something? Do we have to make any changes in the outlines? ?. This is how we ensure that instructors have the latest information when they teach classes.

Let's look at what Galatians chapter 2 says, especially verse 19. Paul was not talking about dying as a sinner condemned by the law, as we understood before. It was that he was focused or was talking about getting free. Sometimes there is a clarification of beliefs or a Biblical reference or a reference to a publication must be changed. And then we have to review the corresponding sketches.

When a change is made to a lesson, all related documents such as the instructor outline, student outline, and study guide need to be reviewed and updated to all reflect the change. That revised lesson is then sent to chapters around the world so that it can be translated into more than 150 languages ​​and used in schools. 

And this is only for one lesson from one school, of course sometimes a lesson is taught in more than one school. So when a change is made in a lesson, for example, from Gilead, the same change must be made in all the schools, in which that lesson appears, that way all the curricula reflect the change and the same thing is taught. As Gilead has the most extensive curriculum, keeping it up-to-date and motivating is a challenge.

One of the things that has been used in Gilead for many years is the visual aids, usually they were models like the Tabernacle. For example, that it helped the students a lot to understand what the tabernacle was like, how it was set up and how it was taken down. Technology has come a long way and now we have 3D animations that can be viewed on tablets or classroom monitors, students practically walk into the tabernacle.

We can also move it and show it from different angles, this was impossible 80 years ago when Gilead began. Another way the department keeps the curriculum up to date is by including our latest posts and videos as soon as possible. For example, the video of Daniel that was presented at the 2021 Regional Assembly.

In September 2021 we received the files and by December of that same year, we already had the portions we wanted to use in the Gilead school ready. So it only took us four months to incorporate this into the program, after seeing what the dream might have been like, we better understand why Daniel wrote that Nebuchadnezzar was so restless, he couldn't sleep.

Another example of how we keep the day school up to date is what happened when the new study manual came out: “Enjoy life”. Shortly after it was published in 2021, it was incorporated into the Gilead program and we started using it in the workshops.

Thank you very much sisters for this excellent demonstration. So how did the teacher use the section discover something else to reach the heart of the student. Since the precursor school contains some Gilead-like lessons when a change is made, it has to be done there as well.

Pioneers will love the updated Pioneer Service School program. References to the “Teach Us and Continue” book have been replaced with those to the “Enjoy Life” book, and the workshops have also been redesigned to help pioneers start Bible courses.

With this new publication they will learn to use the different sections well and even adapt each lesson to their students, now the pioneers who go to school will leave eager to start Bible courses, they will look for ways to start them in any facet of the ministry and the enthusiasm is contagious. So we know that the school will have a very good effect on the congregations.

The theocratic schools department reviews not just individual lessons in a program, but sometimes entire schools. During the Covid-19 pandemic the curriculum of the school for circuit overseers and their wives was completely revised, once approved by the teaching committee it was sent to the branch offices for translation, we were very happy when We learned about the changes that the school for circuit overseers would have, which is going to be an interactive school with new workshops, new outlines, videos, study guides, when a person who loves Jehovah and preaching studies in depth what he says the Bible, this has a very powerful effect on it.

The school can be a before and after in your spiritual life, we realized that this school would have a great impact. Explaining spiritual topics with spiritual words in all our theocratic schools is an enormous job, but it is clear that Jehovah is blessing everyone's effort, it is obvious that Jehovah wants to train his people well, no one, no organization dedicates so much effort and resources to the work of training as the faithful slave.

The Brethren come to a theocratic school, and they come out edified. But then they go off and encourage those around them. the brothers who go to these schools are very eager to talk about what they learned and lived in them and how much it impacted them, and the others will hear them, they will hear them in the Midweek Meeting, the Watchtower Study, in the public talks presented by the brothers, and also in preaching.

When you talk about what you have learned, it is recorded in your heart, and you value it much more. Jehovah is making sure that all over the world spiritual topics are explained, with spiritual words, with his inspired words, with his textbook, maybe of all the theocratic schools, you can only attend the one of the Meeting between week, but you are using the same textbook the Bible.

So every time you put a note on it, whether it's a clarification of beliefs or an idea from one of our posts, it's like you're in class with us. Thanks to Jehovah, the teaching we receive is kept up to date as its purpose is fulfilled no matter who we are or where we live, and do not doubt it, this is not the end of divine education, it is only the beginning.
