What responsibilities has Brother Johnson had?

After being baptized, this brother became a pioneer, then served as a traveling overseer, and later had to leave his service to take full charge of his family.

Brother Johnson began pioneering in Panama in January 1947. Later he served as a circuit overseer in Cuba. Later he was asked as substitute circuit overseer for the United States. By 1974 he was preaching in prisons, and after the death of his wife In 1998, he returned to full-time pioneer service and continues to do so today at the age of 96.

On what occasions did Brother Johnson pray for Jehovah's help?

For example, when it was his turn to do military service, he fervently prayed to Jehovah to give him the rank of religious minister so that he could ignore Jehovah's principles on the matter, effectively he did not have to do military service and I pray again to Jehovah giving him thanks.

The brother prayed to Jehovah for his guidance, for example, when he appeared before the draft board for military service. There they bombarded him with questions and told him that they could not exempt him from military service because he classified him as a religious minister. But Jehovah heard his prayers, since some time later, the Recruitment Board classified brother Johnson as a religious minister for being at that time, directing 12 Bible courses. A text that helped him a lot on this occasion was Psalm 55: 22.

Another situation was when this brother was serving in Cuba. He says that at that time this country was in a very complicated situation because the rebels believed that they could shoot anyone. One day, returning from visiting a congregation, these rebels stopped the bus where the brother was traveling and they pointed a rifle at her for a long time, and they ordered the driver to leave without the brother, this brother at that moment prayed with all his might and mentioned that the driver defended him saying that we would leave without him.

Also at that moment the brother remembered the text of Proverbs 29:25, and then he saw the help of Jehovah and that is why the brother mentions that for him it was as if Jehovah had sent angels from him to protect him.

What do you learn from Brother Johnson's experience?

From this experience I learn that no matter how difficult situations we are going through, we must not neglect prayer, since it will sustain it and what is more, at home we will be demonstrating our total trust in our creator, and we know well that Jehovah is always ready to listen to us.

I learn the value of prayer, because prayer can give us confidence and the conviction that Jehovah knows what is happening to us in the most difficult moments. it also gives us the stamina to endure trials and to remain upright and firm in the face of persecution and under all kinds of pressure.
