“Two great columns with a lot of meaning” (10 mins.)
If you had lived in the time of Solomon it was impossible that upon entering the temple direct your gaze to the columns that were at the entrance of the sanctuary of the temple, the reason was that they were not small columns, it can be said that they were giant columns as described.
LET'S READ: 1 Kings 7:15,16.
15 He made the two pillars of cast copper. Each pillar was 18 cubits high, and a 12-cubit measuring cord was needed to encircle each of the two pillars. 16 He also made two capitals of cast copper to put on the pillars. One was five cubits tall, and the other was also five cubits tall.
Each column that was on the side at the entrance to the sanctuary of the temple as we see in the text and if we go to the measurements that we know, each column was 8 meters high and had a width of 1.7 meters in diameter and apart from that they ended in about capitals 2 meters higher, it was surprising just to look at those two columns.
LET'S READ: 1 Kings 7:21.
21 He erected the pillars of the porch of the temple. He raised the column on the right, which he called Jakin, and then raised the column on the left, which he called Boaz.
It is said that the column that was to the north of Boaz which meant with force and the other column that was to the south was called Jakin which meant that Jehovah establishes firmly, joining the two meanings of this column it read that Jehovah firmly establishes the temple with force .
The meaning of these two columns is interesting. This reminded the Israelites that Jehovah would help the people to firmly establish the temple, but they had to trust in him. This same thought is repeated in the text of Psalms 127:1, which I invite you to read says unless Jehovah building the house is useless for the builders to work hard on it, in other words, unless Jehovah protects the city, it is useless for the guard to stay awake.
This wants to engrave in each one of us in our minds and hearts that if we have Jehovah on our side and if we trust him and follow his statutes, what the Israelites asked of him, Jehovah will firmly establish our house or in other words our faith to many of us as the meaning of these columns Jehovah helps to establish us firmly in the truth.
We have the example of many of our brothers who show that Jehovah helped us Elie Khalil I have inner peace and a clear conscience, because I no longer contaminate my body with drugs or immoral relationships. I am much happier and have a positive attitude towards life.
Terrence J. Obrien, I am terrified of what would have become of me if I had never learned Bible principles. My life could have ended like that of many people I knew. Some have died due to drugs or alcohol, and others have had serious marital problems.
Comments like this we can find a great variety if we visit the section of our web page the Bible changed their lives and that is what the Illustration that is in our activity guide wants to teach us many of us were found either through preaching through our page Jw.org through a publication.
And we see that in the next box that many of us have had vices from which Jehovah has helped us and as he mentioned the meaning of the columns in the last box we can see that Jehovah has firmly established us in the truth.
Now let's think of ourselves as I show that I trusted Jehovah is the final question that our activity guide asks in the treasures of the Bible section how we can do it always leaning on him as the last article of our study of the Watchtower magazine said leaving that Jehovah act putting our problems in his hands and we will see that Jehovah is like these two columns will help us to establish ourselves firmly with strength in the truth.
