Make disciples. Teach them (Matt. 28:19, 20).

Attending Christian meetings is very important for the spiritual progress of the student. What he hears in them will increase his knowledge, strengthen his faith, and help him love God more (Acts 15:30-32). In addition, a brother may tell you that his love for Jehovah motivated him to obey Bible principles (2 Cor. 7:1; Philipp. 4:13). And, when the student gets to know several faithful brothers, he can see in them what it means to obey Christ's command to love God and neighbor (John 13:35; 1 Tim. 4:12). He sees that the brothers go through situations similar to his and realizes that it is possible to make the necessary changes to become a disciple of Christ (Deut. 30:11). Everyone in the congregation can do their bit for the spiritual progress of Bible students (Matt. 5:16). w20.11 5 paras 10-12

Explain with an example how we can teach someone to obey what Christ commanded.

How can we teach someone to obey what Christ commanded? Let's look at the following example. What does an instructor at a driving school do to teach his students to obey traffic rules? They may first be taught through lectures. But, if he wants them to learn to obey them, he has to do something else. He must accompany them in their practical classes to help them apply what they have learned on the road. What is the lesson?

a) According to John 14:15 and 1 John 2:3, what should we teach the student to do? b) Give some examples of how we can do it.

When we teach a person the Bible, we teach him what God expects us to do. But that is not enough. We must teach him to apply what he learns in his daily life (read John 14:15; 1 John 2:3). By our example we can show you how to apply Bible principles in school, at work, or when choosing entertainment. We can also tell you about a personal experience that shows how the Bible's advice protected us or helped us make a good decision. And when we pray with the student, we can ask Jehovah for his holy spirit to guide him.—John 16:13.
